Overview

Villa Ulivi of Florence, Italy is a 4-star residence and bed and breakfast with high-class rooms and a wonderful 15th century villa recently organized and is also on the top of a great park surrounded with vineyards and olive orchards. Villa Ulivi is nearby a historic center of Florence (down the famous Via Bolognese) as well as museums, monuments and shopping at less than twenty minutes away. All of the relaxing elements of Tuscany are at guests’ disposal to make an excellent and impossible to forget vacation. There is exclusivity and a richness that has been reserved to the owners of Villa Ulivi but now is possible to many of you. Villa Ulivi originates in 1400. The owners’ excellent adjustment gives the visitors the full extent of the modernity and the antique and ancient classic grounds of the 16th and 17th centuries. The holiday in Tuscany, either as in apartments-residence than in bed and breakfast, begins a superior holiday....the owners are waiting for you... Villa Ulivi, an ancient historical Florentine residence, is located in a garden planted with roses and lavender, at the end of a shady horse-chestnuts drive. Villa Ulivi is an ideal choice for lodging in a charming and romantic historical residence of Florence and gives complete relaxation. Large and elegant rooms, enlightened by the Tuscan sun and open onto the gardens of the historical residence, have been added in the course of the last two centuries to the fascinating ancient wine-cellars and horse-stables. From the main terrace of the historical house, guests can easily enjoy the view of Florence and its incomparable, unspoiled, country-side....to take a vacation in an ancient European historical residence, next to the historic centre of Florence, the country of all the classic historical residences.... Furnishings of the historical house of Villa Ulivi have been chosen both among Tuscan pieces of the 16th and 17th centuries and from the advanced technologies, creating a very particular atmosphere that is, at the same time, classical and useful to a first-class charming holiday, as usual in the best Florentine historical residences. During their holidays, guests can also use a private Chapel for a romantic ceremony: on request, the best chefs can pleasure you with a delicious private little party... Periodically owners organize cooking classes in the common areas of the historical residence, an Internet-point and a Telefax. English, French and Russian are spoken by hotel employees. Breakfast, with Florentine bread, coffee, milk, cakes and drinks, is served in the hall of the Florentine villa, overlooking the garden; in summertime on the terraces, under the shadow of luxuriant mimosa-trees.

Not welcome

At Villa Ulivi guests are not really welcome. The owner Maria just rents rooms to pay for the high cost of the house. Her son Matteo pretends to arrange all, but is incompetent to do so. He promises a lot, like airconditioned rooms, but disappears when he can’t or whenever problems exist. We did not get the promised airconditioned rooms and 5 out of 7 days had no warm water! Maria told us to takei t or leave to another hotel, but Florence was fully booked. Internet almost never workes and the breakfast bread is as hard as the beds are. Many musquitos and the groundsman wakes you up at 07.00 doing the garden. Avoid this place (even the maid advised that!), unless you want to see some original art deco furniture.

The best thing about my stay was...
