Good hotel in perfect location
Tomas, Prague, Czech republic
We have spent 10 nights in the Bugibba Hotel. It was already our third stay here. It has perfect location to the all amenities in Bugibba like Bus terminal, promenade, local beach. We were on all inclusive and it was very nice, every day something different, enough and tasty food. Room was great overlooking the pool a bit older furniture, but very quiet, with internet access free of charge. One minus was the hotel is not like before also with the big pool, now there is a wall between two buildings. We booked it with the old photos and there was no info they are now two properties, the hotel just with a small swimming pool, but it was ok at the end. Staff was friendly, but they should be more smiling and communicative. Definitely I recommend this hotel and when we are again in Malta, will stay in this hotel again. We were happy here.

In urgent need of a upgrade
Hotel in excellent location , but in need of a total upgrade, hotel staff were excellent the poor receptionist had to put up with a load of complaints from dissatisfied customers and need a medal for what she had to put up with, but for what we paid for the week we had no problem , get what you paid for.
The best thing about my stay was...Was our fourth visit to Malta and love the island and it friendly locals.

Very helpful Staff
Gerald, Llangynwyd, Maesteg, South Wales
This is our second visit to The Bugibba Hotel and found again that the staff were great and the food plentiful, tasty with variety. This Hotel is old and is being 'Heath Robinson' patched up with the staff doing their best to 'cover the cracks'. Wall fittings are loosely fixed, shower heads don't fit the wall mounts, shower wall mounts are also loose. The hot water is far too hot and the cold barely runs out of the taps. Taking a shower calls for fine control of the hot with the cold fully on. TV consists of very few English speaking channels and this is no SKY TV, screens are 15" with no remote. At night time the pool area is very poorly lit, (if at all) and the back entrance is now padlocked. The pictures of the Hotel were taken a long long time ago and bear no resemblance of what the Hotel is like now. The walk down to Bugibba square is down hill going in an extended dog leg direction and the streets are not very clean with lots of standing rubbish, fly tipping. The safe deposit box will cost around e20 a week, (boxes showing signs of age with rust) the fridge e15 a week, tax e7, WiFi is free around the pool area only, pricey for room coverage through a private ISP. If a person can overlook these imperfections of which there are very many then the stay here will be very enjoyable and its location is great for all amenities. We just might make a third visit if it has not been pulled down and rebuild as pending for the nearby sea view hotel. My wife and I, (senior citizens) really did enjoy our time in Malta yet again.
The best thing about my stay was...Very helpful hard working staff

This hotel needs updating asap, the staff need re training and some manners. Won't be revisiting this hotel anytime soon.
The best thing about my stay was...The last day and going home

Over the years I have stayed at the Bugibba Hotel many times and found it not be up to the standard it used to be. So many changes have been made, and not for the better, and I do not consider it to be worthy of a 3 star rating. In there was no rating displayed outside the entrance. We arrive at around noon only to be told the room was not ready and couldn't book until 2pm. When we went to the room it was sparse and very basic compared to what is was in earlier years, many of the furnishings had been removed and felt musty! We discovered that the cooker did not work, the fridge did on work, and the taps in the bathroom were that were that covered with lime scale they could not be turned on or off without great difficulty. There were no towels available until later in the day. there was no telephone in the room. In my booking I asked for a sea view, there was none, and the room over looked the street. We complained and asked to be moved to another room which they did, and was considerably better but still sparse, over looking the pool. I noticed that pool was considerably smaller than used to be, due to a brick wall having been built cutting off a large part of the pool. we later found out that it was because a large portion of the complex had been turned into a care home for the elderly. The photographs on the website are well out of date I consider misrepresents its facilities, and should be investigated to bring it up to date. We booked this holiday around the dates of the International Firework display which we booked up for through a tour agent in the hotel, due to bad management of the agent(I am blaming the hotel for this) the pick was late and consequently missed the display (we were refunded) I the second room there were issues the cooker was faulty and blew all the fuses when one of the heating plates was switched on, the window in the bathroom could not be locked and banged when the wind got up. My friends were reasonably happy having been the first time they have stayed there, but for me I was disappointed. All-in-all the holiday was enjoyable.
The best thing about my stay was...The weather, and was pleased to see how Malta is changing for the better, and still consider it to be one of safest countries to take a holiday in these uncertain times.

The best thing about my stay was...The staff and location

It's a cheap hotel built in 1989 and since than I don't think it was refurblished. All the appliances and mobiles are old. The rooms are generous. We requested a cot bed which wasn't in our room as we got there. Upon request we got the cot without any sheets or blankets. The hotel has a bigger and a small pool and and also an indoor pool. We didn't try them as it was April and the water was cold. The location is fair, not too far from the beach and the center. The first 2-3 days we were really happy with the food but it seemed to be deteriorating towards the end of our stay. Desserts tend to be the same every day, and although they offer a kid's menu, it's every day the same...nuggets and chips. In 8 days they couldn't change the ice cream spoon which was broken making it impossible to spoon the ice cream. I don't think it's a big spend. But the worst part was that the 3rd day we found a huge huge cockroach (as big as 10 cm) in the kitchen and after that every day we found at least one. One morning even on the corridor we saw one dead one. Disgusting and from day 3 I was afraid even to get back to our room.
The best thing about my stay was...It was cheap

Nice little place.
Me & my boyfriend were particularly worried about staying here after seeing some of the reviews. However; we were pleasantly surprised. No it isn't a luxury hotel - but we paid £16 a night - you cannot expect luxury at this price. However; the staff were friendly; the rooms were very comfortable and had everything we could need in; the pool area was nice! Our rooms were cleaned every other day; with new sheets and towels replaced. The horror stories some people are sharing; I just can't understand. Yes it could do with a little refurbishment - a lick of paint wouldn't go a miss. But it's a nice place to stay. The location is brilliant too! A very short walk away from Bugibba square and Bugibba bus station - making it very easy for us to visit Valetta and St Julians for the day! Especially when the buses are only €1.50 to anywhere! Each way!! Fabulous stay for our holiday!
The best thing about my stay was...Location & comfy bed!
