Good, but not perfect
The location is great as is the sea view. However, we were very surprised to find out that not only the restaurant is closed, but the bar also was not operating. You have to cross a narrow lane to reach the pool and the SPA centre, which consists of a small indoor pool and a very small Jacuzzi. As to the apartment itself, it was comfortable and well equipped; you just have to ask for the coffee maker and microwave, also free of charge. The maid service was impeccable!
The best thing about my stay was...Location, housekeeping service, friendly staff

Arrived with no record of our booking, it was put in for March not February! Room given was not a studio as asked for but a two bedroom apartment, you might think this was great, but.... there was continuous industrial noise from hotel heating systems and the main road with heavy goods vehicle cars and buses from the ground floor balcony. There was no natural light in any rooms apart from the one on the main road. We asked to get moved but was told we would have to 'upgrade' for an extra 15 Euros per night for a 1 bed apartment. We booked and wanted a studio but there was none available. Another night of no sleep from horrendous noise from inconsiderate guests above us, on top of the existing noise and we couldn't take any more and demanded to be moved to another room the following morning. We were given a 1 bedroom apartment with a balcony view of a slice of the sea but were faced with an extractor fan from a restaurant that expelled fumes and made an awful din, We could not use this area due to this most of the time. Again, not natural light in the kitchen and dining area and yet again the drone of the hotel heating machinery whing non stop into the kitchen diner and bathroom. The room service was scant with no change of towels or bed sheets throughout our 8 night stay! We had to ask for more supplies of shampoo and the balcony was not serviced at all. The only glimmer of light was the reception staff who tried to help us, but with the nature of the hotel design this was difficult. We could not relax at all in the hotel and felt like we were in a prison.
The best thing about my stay was...The reception staff (Great!)

good quality apartment
John , south ireland, ireland
nice apartment, convenient location, very handy for buses etc.really helpfull staff especially when having trouble with shuttle . only negative, while not the fault of the Sunny Coast Resort was on 3 different days (assume to do with wind direction) there was a strong unpleasant smell from the rubbish dump which is located across the harbour.for this reason alone would not go back to QAWRA.
The best thing about my stay was...excellent staff and convenient public transport

Really enjoyed our stay here. Appartments are immaculate and have everything you need. Cleaned regularly and helpful staff. Only issue was that the pool is open to the public and can at times be very very busy at times we just used indoor pool as we couldn't get moving in the outdoor pool. Also ate in the restaurant/bar adjacent to the hotel and it was very tasty. Great location with regards the bus stop right beside us and buses are very regularly.
The best thing about my stay was...Very comfortable clean spacious appartment

The first time we visited Sunny Coast but will not be the last. The apartment was clean, comfortable and for us was in a lovely location. It had all that we needed for a relaxing stay. The Lido is easy to get to, there were plenty of sunbeds and a lovely pool. Nearby there are several reasonably priced restaurants - Tal Kaptan / Ocean Basket. All the reception staff were friendly and helpful . An observation for improvement would be to arrange for wi-fi to be more widely available, rather than just in the reception area. Overall a great place to stay.
The best thing about my stay was...Spacious land view apartment

Stayed before, no issues. Arrived at Sunny Coast on Saturday 9th August to be told the apartment booked was not available for a couple if days. No manager on duty until Monday. Offered 2 free dinners which was totally inadequate, ended up being refunded for 1 night. Disappointing although the managers were very sympathetic. Most staff were very nice. Ended up having a good holiday despite the frustations if the first few days & fighting for compensation. Very disappointed that my email sent to Alpharooms right away, wasn't even responded to!
The best thing about my stay was...Location, nice staff

Good Value for Money. Very basic but reflected in the price. Good size apartment. Beds not made each day.

The hotel had obviously recently undergone refurbishment to its public areas which looked impressive and were very nicely done. The rooms were slightly dated and would benefit from the same treatment however they were still comfortable and clean but probably were not up to 4 stars in their current state of appearance. The apartment layout is a little odd as the balcony is accessed via the twin room rather than the double room therefore it can be noisy for the children getting to sleep as their room is connected to the adjacent bar noise and noise from the pool complex, further it would have been nice to have been able to relax on the balcony once the children had been put to bed. This could be easily rectified by the hotel by switching the rooms. Beware the pool is not connected to the hotel but is actually across a road and is a shared facility. The outdoor pool is not heated and is salt water. Once you get used to it this is not a problem as at high season this is made warm by the sun and frankly one is glad to cool down. The spa facilities are excellent including the ample showers / changing and WC facilities. The hotel restaurant was of good quality serving lovely food at very reasonable prices. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The only negative being that we did not get our sheets changed until we had been there nearly 1 week and frankly made a big deal about asking for this..three times! We did not receive an apology for this oversight which was disappointing. The resort of Qawra was ok and much better than neighbouring Baggiba which was verging on being the 'Blackpool' of Malta with far too many tattoos and English ex pats. All in all I would say that this hotel offers reasonable value and comfortable accommodation.
The best thing about my stay was...Spaciousness of the apartment
