Unfortunetly I was only staying in new york for one night as I was returning from Canada and on route home. I had stayed there 5 years ago and the hotel has had a face lift recently. The rooms have to be the nicest Ive ever stayed in. I had my own small
I think that the Affinia is perfectly located as its a few doors from Macys and penn station. The rooms are exceptional and you really feel pampered. If your staying for a few days there is the possibiliy of cooking as every room has a little kitch attached. I honestly thought it was the nicest room I had ever stayed in. It was spotless and everything was new.
The best thing about my stay was...I was albe to get an extention to my check out time for an extra hour which really helped. I found that the staff were so mannerly and policte and they made you feel special wheile on your holidays. They all seemed in pretty good humour as well and appeared happy in their jobs which helped.

Excellent Location next to Penn Station. Good quality hotel at a reasonable price. An unexpected bonus was the provision of a kitchen with fridge, cooker etc. This allowed us to boil water for a proper cup of tea! The concierge staff were very helpful and the ability to store luggage was useful after checking out given we had an evening flight.

When we arrived we were quite pleased with the hotel, lobby was really nice, staff helpful and location great. The room however was tiny, to the point where we didn't even have anywhere to place our second suitcase, other than the floor, the first being placed on the only chair. The other problem being how hot the room was, we seemed to be next to the boiler room, it was so hot, we had to leave the air conditioning on all night which was the noisiest air con unit I have ever known. Luckily we had taken our ear plugs, which I would highly recommend for your trip to NY. Would have been nice to have a fridge in the room as others on this site have talked about having a small kitchen and also another mirror in the room, to aide in getting ready quickly in the morning. Our room was 1971.

Highly Recommended, We were up-graded to a suite when we arrived with 2 king size beds and a lovely sitting area and kitchen. Hotel is well located and five minute walk to Times Square and only 2min walk to Penn Station. I would rate the hotel has 3 star and it was very clean with room service every day. This is my 3rd visit to new york and this is the best hotel I have stayed in. I will be going back again.

My daughter and I were delighted when we entered our room. It was huge! There were 2 king size beds and room could have fitted another 6 of them . There was a huge telly, a sofa, table, desk and swivel chair. There was also a spotless clean, well equiped kitchen, perfect for having cereal and coffee in morning, though you could cook if you are on a shoestring as NY aint cheap. The only minor negative is the bathroom is small but I managed fine and I'm a "larger" lady. Location is also superbe as Penn subway 2 minutes away, Times Sq 10 mins and Macy's(my fave) 5 mins. Will definitely stay there again.

Well located, clean, great staff
This Hotel is very well located, five minutes walk to Times square and only about 2 minutes from the Empire State building. The room I booked was a mini suite, it was smaller than I expected and a little old fashioned. That siad it was kept totally clean by the staff. The staff themselves were really helpful and a dedicated tourist desk in the lobby was really useful.

My husband and I haven't stopped raving about this hotel! We stayed from 27th-29th December 2007 and from the moment we walked into the entrance lobby we were impressed with the general ambience of the hotel. The check in staff were friendly and efficient and fully explained how the hotel worked, even down to the free pillow menu! Our room by far exceeded our expectations (we stayed in room 521). We have stayed in New York several times before and, like most people, you soon discover that NY hotel rooms are generally small/tiny! Our room was huge for New York! We had a massive kingsize bed which probably only took up a quarter of the main living room, and plenty more space with two desks and sofa with footstool. We also had a small, but perfectly functional, kitchenette (with fridge, cooker, microwave) and two closets, one with a safe. The room was absolutely spotless and was maintained daily by the cleaning staff. OK, so the views weren’t spectacular from the three windows, but hey, you can’t have it all! And if a view is important to you, my brother in law and wife had a slightly smaller room opposite which had a perfect view of the Empire State Building. The hotel couldn’t be more centrally located; it’s directly opposite Madison Square Gardens and is just a couple of blocks away from Macys. There are several subway stations within a few blocks of the hotel and a taxi rank outside MSG so getting around is no problem. Overall, this hotel offers excellent value for money and we will certainly book again when we next visit New York.
