This hotel was miss represented as website and pictures do not match the Don Pedro we booked no comfort at all every chair plastic, dining room like a cafe, no curtains only black out lining in room, builders still working in hotel ,we had no cold water for three days ,we moved rooms three times, food good, view fantastic, weather great, no colour throughout hotel every thing white very clinical even table cloths, no pictures, bare hotel no warmth or atmosphere bland, would not recommend this hotel entertainment rubbish, we will not be going back .
The best thing about my stay was...only the view and surrounding areas.

Love the hotel and the staff just amazing, but it's the place that brings me back 3 times a year. Quiet tranquil and most of all beautiful. The view from the hotel is just mesmerising. Been everywhere else and found my special 2 nd home xx

amazing setting and value

Third trip and not the last:) This place is superbly managed in order to provide all round high quality at low prices. The setting is just perfect. The food is excellent with fresh fish, excellent casseroles and the very best steak and kidney pie every week. It is not modern food or celebrity chef just simple ingredients well prepared. The furnishings are dated and the fixtures also somewhat tired. The staff are long serving, hard working, fast efficient and helpful. If money was spent to upgrade the hotel they would struggle to maintain their low prices. The in house entertainment is charming, quirky, hard working and friendly. Again lots of effort on a tight budget. People joined in and had fun.

hadn't been to cala san vicente for aqqlmost 40 years and had forgotten what a beautiful place it was.The hotel was excellent if a little dated and the food was superb, no wonder some of the guests were on their 15th visit. Would have loved to go again and yake our granchildren so was disappointed to find that it is being refurbed and will be adults only. Will reeturn though and try the Simar once its refurbed and takes children.
The best thing about my stay was...friendly staff and excellent food

What a fantastic location for a hotel, wonderful bay, clear blue sea and beautiful scenery. I had a very shaky start to my stay, being informed there was no reservation for me, despite presenting reception with the voucher and even when I was given a room, being woken the following morning to be told I could not stay but if I paid for the room again they may be able to arrange something, After protesting the Manager did call the agency and the problem was resolved. However there was no apology and since I was there alone I was feeling very vulnerable. The food was fine, what I would expect at this type of all-inclusive hotel. The dishes were refilled as soon as they became low. Drinks were served in disposable plastic glasses. My room smelt damp even though it did have a beautiful view.

Adios Don Pedro
3A's, West Yorkshire
Our 3rd visit to the Don Pedro as a family. We love the place, perfect location, friendly and helpful staff and a relaxing child friendly(and safe) hotel. We were all upset to find out the Don has been sold to be re-developed as a 4* adults only hotel as from May next year ! Big mistake and a big disappointment to us ! That said, the hotel is now looking and feeling a bit dated and does need a revamp, thanks to all the staff for making our stays there so enjoyable - hope you all remain employed after the change ! Typical dodgy evening entertainment though - X factor rejects !!!
The best thing about my stay was...Location, safe for kids and friendly.

This hotel used to be good
We have stayed here for 15 years, the hotel used to be superb but the last few years have seen a decline. The food is poor and you now have to use a turnstyle to get a drink in a plastic cup and you have to serve yourself. There are rumours that it is changing to 4 star next year and adults only, they have got a long way to go.
The best thing about my stay was...The staff are very good.

Just got back from 10 days at the Hi Don Pedro. What a fantastic location, just lounging on a sunbed on the terraced area (in 38 degree heat - phew hot hot hot) watching the expensive yachts popping into the bay - how relaxing. The hotel itself is 3* but I wouldn't let that put anyone off. The food is really really good, there is plenty of choice and you won't go hungry. We had a themed night twice, one was Spanish and the other Mexican, and the food followed suit, along with the entertainment people (Kym, Lewis and Tom - thanks for helping make our holiday a good one, we thought you went the extra mile ....... and in that heat, you never stopped. There is plenty to do (if you wish, no pressure if you don't) via the entertainment gang, rifle shooting, killer darts, pool, table tennis, amongst other things and I have now found a new hobby ..... Archery. We had a good laugh at the evening entertainment when one evening it was soooo hot that the entertainment was brought outside onto the terrace, and practically everyone took part and made it a really good night. The actual location is more like a village so it is pretty quiet but that is what we wanted. We had a walk round the village every evening before returning to the hotel. There are a good few local restaurants neaby if you fancy a change of eating places, but we didn't find the need as we were more than happy/pleased to eat in the hotel restaurant. We were on the first floor and most of the rooms have a sea view except the ones that look onto the pool. Parts of the hotel could do with a bit of an upgrade especially in the lounge area, there needs to be better air conditioning in there and all the windows need to open as the air was a bit stale at times. The sea is lovely and you can go out quite some way before it gets really deep. There were a few people who were stung by jelly fish which were brought in following a bit of an evening storm, just be careful. When we were there, it was mainly English with a scattering of other nationalities, there was a mixture of age groups and it worked well. We couldn't believe the amount of people that returned year after year, and to be honest, we will be joining that club, we will definitely be going again.
