5 Star Luxery Hotel
The best thing about my stay was...Service and Tranquility
18 September 2015
Still very worthwhile.
Returning after 6 years we were delighted to find the 'Atlantico' still in good shape. The staff, across all grades, were as ever, courteous and efficient. The rooms are spacious enough and the beds large and comfortable..and best of all, the rooms are very quiet..The grounds are clean and tidy, and the staff work hard to keep it, and the main areas, that way.the only area needing some attention being the ground around the walkway to the beach. Our only other point to comment on, is in regard to the food choices in general. You may find it 'a bit samey' perhaps needing a bit more variety or specials on some days. That aside this is still a great Hotel, only a short distance outside of town, which you may find, as we do, a more pleasant choice, but with the Hotels own shuttle bus or the taxi services you are only 10 mins away. We recommend.
The best thing about my stay was...The quiet, the views, especially from the roof bar ( with an 'Brandy Alexander' in hand) and the staff

Pay for a sea view!
Helen, United Kingdom
We stayed in a top floor sea view room in July 2014. The view was breathtaking. With a private balcony, a huge bed, plenty of room for clothes and an Italian-style shower to die for, the rooms are the best thing about this beautiful, new, luxury hotel. It was very quiet and peaceful and we loved our private balcony looking out at the Algarve. If waking up to the sea view was perfect, the cherry on top was breakfast. The breakfast buffet is the best thing I have ever seen! Constantly replenished, filled with fruit, pastries, cereal, bread, hot food, yoghurts, cake, it catered for a wide range of diets and the food was wonderful. Staff members were very attentive and it got the day off to a perfect start. On the negative side, the pools were absolutely freezing. Not a single person used them throughout our week's stay, even though there were three very attractive circular pools to choose from. The weather was in the high 20s but the water was around 22 degrees. Something to be aware of if you're planning for splashing around in the pool - it's just not an option here. The prices at the poolside bar were extortionate, both for food and drinks, and the menu was limited. Instead, visit the Chinese at the top of the hill, beautiful food and bargain prices. The supermarket just next door was very helpful too. Although there is private access to the beach, which is beautiful, the hotel is relatively remote. There are a small number of places to eat in the neighbourhood and Albufeira old town is a short taxi (7 euros or so) away with eateries everywhere, piri chicken and chips for 5 euros etc etc. It's not the most picturesque place, but it's an option. The hotel does private a free shuttle. If you had a car and were free to travel around to eat, or visit other places, you'd get on better than we did relying on taxis or the shuttle. Altogether the hotel was of an excellent standard, with beautiful views and I loved our accommodation. Sadly, the remote location and temperature of the pools were really significant negatives. If you'll spend a lot of time at the beach or on excursions however, coming back to this hotel would be a luxury indeed and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
The best thing about my stay was...The sea view, the luxury rooms, the breakfast

Well needed relaxation needed - top relaxation received and more
Juliette Clark, Oxford
My husband and I have just returned yesterday from staying at the Atlantic for 7 nights! I've been coming to Portugal every year since I was 2. Last year we stayed at their sister hotel the sao rafael suites for our mini moon. We had every intention of staying there again but they have since gone all inclusive which may suit some but we love to go out and about for dinner. We chose to stay at the Atlantic as it's in the same area we love and we could do bed and breakfast like we wanted. This hotel amazed us even more than the suites. The room was a double but it was huge. The shower and toilet were so clean. The staff at the hotel were welcoming and friendly. Location is perfect as you have access to 2 beaches. You can walk into albufeira old town in about 30 minutes or take a taxi for around €6. We have the most relaxing break and can't wait to book again for next year.
The best thing about my stay was...The calming atmosphere of the hotel

Brilliant hotel, great staff
David Nicholls, Dunstable
Stayed at the Atlantic hotel 1 week from 20th October and had a very relaxing and peaceful week. The hotel is as good as it looks in the photos, if not better. We went b&b so that we could go off and do different excursions throughout the week. We found all the staff very helpful, nothing was any trouble for them. The room overlooked the front of the hotel and was very quiet, very few cars and no loss of sleep at all. The bed was enormous with a fantastic mattress and mega soft pillows, and the shower room was brilliant. The separate toilet includes a bidet. Great air con and very quiet when on. The room was cleaned immaculately daily, towels changed also, and 2 bath robes are supplied. There are many tv's around the hotel mostly showing football matches ( i thought i had died and gone to heaven) There was an enormous choice of food at the breakfast buffet, but i was a little disappointed at the lack of temperature of the cooked produce, this should have been much warmer, but that is my only negative of this hotel. We didn't use the spa facilities at this stay, but they looked amazing. For the outside eaters there is a little restaurant just down the road called Praia Grande which we highly recommend as the food is superb and the owner very attentive, and works out a lot cheaper than eating the hotel dinners (go out of the front of the hotel turn left and 7 minutes walk you can't miss it) well worth a visit. The hotel is a 10 minute cab ride from Albufeira at the cost of under 8 euros, but you can get a hotel shuttle bus 3 times a day free of charge. All in all a great place to relax and be pampered and we would go back again in the future. Dave
The best thing about my stay was...Peaceful setting and totally pampered, great room

Lee Mullin, Sheffield
Great spacious clean rooms, fantastic food in all the bars and restaurants, nice pools, great spa, couldn't ask for much more. It was near the beach and near enough to the town if you want to see some of it.
The best thing about my stay was...The food in the restaurants was superb, even the breakfast buffet
