10/10 Amazing

23 November 2011

We really enjoyed it! (2 week stay and the wedding)

The hotel was very nice. It was always extremely clean and swimming pools were cleaned on the daily basics, unlike at the other Almond resort - Almond Beach Village. The staff was always very happy and friendly. They were doing their job perfectly. When the bulb blown, it got changed straight after. The food was amazing, it did not need any seasoning whatsoever. There was not a meal that we would not enjoy throughout our stay.We also loved all coctails, especially those served right inside the swimming pool. The kids club was very pretty inside, the ladies were taking good care of our 4-year old, however there was never many kids in. We got married on the beach. In the evening after the wedding I received flowers and congratulations from the cleaning lady, which made me feel very special and welcomed. We left our child with a nanny (who was also trustworthy) and we had the special dinner for two - lobsters - also included in the wedding package! We liked the gazeboo on the beach, however the gazeboo at Almond Beach Village is much much nicer for a wedding. We were extremely happy from our stay. We really loved everything about the hotel. We enjoyed all the trips organized by the hotel (however we do not recommend the atlantis submarine trip, as it was very expensive and it was also very unlikely to see any big fish during the trip). Only one real dark side of the hotel was its wedding coordinator. The lady did not even know where the hotel's spa was (and the resort was not big at all), and she completely did not know what was going on. We had force her to get everything what was included in the wedding package. Before we arrived to Barbados, I had tried to contact her for a few months but she had never replied my calls or emails. The photographer who was doing our photo session was not good enough and had very little photographic imagination. He did not use the potential of the hotel to do a proper photo session. When we tried to compare the two resorts - Casuarina nad Beach Village - we still would pick the Casuarina for our stay, as the hotel is generally much cleaner and nicer and has much nicer restaurants than the other one. However for the wedding day only, I would definitely pick Beach Village. Beach Village also offers lots of water sports, which are not possible to do at Casuarina, as there are always big waves of the Atlantic Ocean, unlike Beach Village with quiet waters of Carribean Sea.

The best thing about my stay was...

Food, free drinks. water sports and relaxing atmosphere.
6/10 Good

Wasted money

We travel a lot around the world. We stayed at Almond Casuarina for 8 nights, from April 30 2011. This is worth hotel we ever stayed. Staff at the front desk friendly but they NEVER listened to you , they looked down at you and make you feel like you a stupid. The room was clean less , always you can find sand on the bed and on the floor. For room service we wait for 1.5 hours(just 2 bottle of water and Cola ) - nobody show up , we left. If you need to drink at night you have to bring some from the bar, even water. Choices for breakfast and lunch EVERY DAY the same, no VARIETY.Juices was made from the concentrate. Menu for dinner was a joke! We did not like the queues for waiting to be seated even though the tables had already been prepared. We did not like the long wait between courses. In the "Waves " restaurant if your table on the lower level you can see and smell feet the person who enjoy meal on the higher level ( see attached picture)Didn't like the various bars being open at various times and the queue at the beach bar (only one open during the day}. Always offered a cocktail (very strange mixes on offer ) but had to be very persistent to get anything else.THE bar attendants were very slow. Some cocktails were not available because of short of components( like bananas, strawberries, mint) The entertainment was of little quality but too noisy. Sport activities were too poor.

The best thing about my stay was...

Nice beach and ocean
