Good budget hotel
Reception lovely as are the staff. Our room was very quiet, clean with good linen. Individual air con a bonus and we were very comfortable for our 2 night stay despite a heatwave. Excellent value for money.
The best thing about my stay was...Clean and comfortable room and very good value.

Not the best
Lisa jepson, South Yorkshire
Arrived at 1.30am and informed only had 1 room available when we had booked 2. My 72 year old dad and hubby had to stay at hotel down road for 1 night. Food nice but not much choice salad bar absolutely pathetic. Rooms smashing and all staff apart from night reception man really friendly. Not very secure as back gate open every night and anyone can go in. wouldn't stay there again
The best thing about my stay was...Bar across road (jesters)

Don't expect 5 star when you've only paid for 3 star
Sharon payne, Stoke on trent
7th of July 2016 was the day me, my husband, my 18 year old son and his 17 year old girlfriend arrived back home from the san pawl hotel in Malta and to be honest when I booked the holiday and read reviews I was thinking to myself what the hell have I done. We all booked in squad room and as we approached the door I peered inside expecting a dirty shabby mess with ripped towls and unclean bathroom but let me tell you I was pleasantly surprised. The reviews I had read were horrifying. The bed linen had crisp white sheets and the towels were white and clean . The bathroom toilet and bathtub were clean and even though the decor was basic , cleanliness was all I was bothered about. The staff were friendly and helpful . People said the staff were rude but I did not witness that at all. The only criticism I have is the DJ. could have interacted with the audience and made it a bit more fun . The entertainment tried to appeal to all ages throughout the 10 days we were there. Karaoke, line dancing, ballroom dancing , 2 or 3 singers on also. The food was good there was 3 or 4 choices, breakfast was sausage egg beans toast jams cearials plus juices , alternate days there was bacon and always fresh soft or crusty bread . One day we went to the blue lagoon and the hotel did us 4 packed lunches and they were lovely. We had ham and cheese sandwiches a piece of cake and a apple plus a bottle of water. If you go out for the day order them the day before. The beaches are pebbly and rocky but there are sandy beaches on a short bus ride. You don't get hassled by anyone and you feel safe to walk all around .. Hope you find this helpful and I have been as honest as possible. Have a great holiday, we just did . (Sharon)

Value for money

This place is looking a tad tired and old. Ask for a superior room they are better. The food is good but there is not a huge choice. The pool is medium sized and the only complaint is that the lift to level 4 -where I was sleeping did not work. It is a basic hotel.

This hotel could have been so much better with some small attention to detail and a little TLC. We stayed with children aged 14, 4 and a 6 month baby. This is not the hotel for a young family really as not much to do but swimming and no children's entertainment. However although we were all inclusive we planned to still go out a lot and only use the hotel as a base so this wasn't a concern for us. Our room was a superior triple. There were 2 bedrooms one with a double bed and cot and one with 2 single beds. It was very spacious with clean bedding and a fridge. I would describe the room as clean on arrivAl though it had dated fittings, especially the bathroom. Unfortunately our shower didn't work and we could only bath. It was a bath/shower mixer and the button was broke to change it to the shower head. We thought of asking to change rooms but loved the size of the room and the large balcony so we decided to make do. Cleaners came in every day to make or change beds and replace towels. We were all inclusive and I found the set up to be quite different to other all inclusive restaurants. Breakfast was a choice of bacon or sausage alternate mornings, a form of egg such as scrambled or frued and beans an tomatoes. There was toast and fresh bread and ham, chesee and salad. No fresh fruit apart from chopped oranges which were strangely served with chocolate cake. There was fresh juice and nescafe machine coffee. No yoghurts. There was cereal though it was no the best. Lunch was a choice of 3 main dishes such as fishcake, chicken and pasta etc. There was salad bread and soup.Dinner was served a a 3 course meal - a soup with bread, a choice of 2 meat dishes a fish dish and a pasta. You could only choose one and it was served to you rather than help yourself. Potatoes and veg. No chips. Icecream and a choice of 2 cakes after. If your kids are fussy you will struggle. The on site pizzeria is a reasonable price and delicious if you want a change. There are no snacks in between meals and no free icecream for kids during the day. Pool is small but nice enough with a small splash pool for kids. Plenty of sun loungers with padded mats. Also has shaded areas. Outdoor bar area has seating in the shade. All inclusive drinks were okay though own brand spirits and a cheaper lager than the Cisk which is the local beer of choice. Entertainment left a lot to be desired. Most people were playing cards. Lots of good bars locally though. The thing that really made the stay good was the staff - so friendly and couldn't do enought for you. They also paid special attention to the kids. With a few minor improvements this could be an 8 or 9 out of 10.
The best thing about my stay was...The weather and the staff
