A little gem
Alan Grimes, Marchwood Hampshire
Just got back from spending 7 nights at this hotel. What a find, this quiet small hotel is close to the centre of Cala n Porter, five minute walk. Restaurants near by and beach accessible by 182 steps (ok going down but coming up phew!!). Roberto and his team do an amazing job everything is clean and tidy. I will definitely be back.
The best thing about my stay was...The staff here are so friendly and helpful nothing is to much trouble.

A very pleasant, and friendly stay.
Peter Beech, Stockport
First time at this hotel, although have been to Calan Porter 5 times previously. Found it to be very clean, comfortable and very friendly staff. A bit quirky, in decoration, which we liked very much. We only stayed 4 nights, and so me and my partner was out and about each day, and only ate breakfast in the hotel, which we found very good and varied. My mother came with us, and she did eat ,on two occasions, an evening meal at the hotel. Which she did report to be very good. Very pleased with our stay, and wouldnt hesitate to reccommend to others.

Fantastic break - lovely hotel and wonderful staff
Michael Williams, Chessington
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sa Barrera - our 2nd visit and definitely not our last. Our only complaint was that Alpharooms didn't pass through our request for a 1st floor room at the back of the hotel and we got allocated a front facing room, but the staff moved us really quickly and without fuss Breakfast is fantastic and varied everyday - the scrambled eggs were really good! Evening meals and varied and very good also.
The best thing about my stay was...Location, relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff!

lovely hotel, shame about the resort.
June Ruddick, Notts
from start to finish our stay at the sa barrera was first class, all the staff couldn,t have done any more to make our stay more enjoyable, the hotel is down a side street ,very quiet , the pool and soroundings are beautiful and because the hotel dosn,t have children under 13 , it was nice and relaxing, the breakfast was continental , but just ask and you can have a full english,we never had an optional evening meal so can,t comment on that only to say people that did told us the food was fantastic, i think most of the rooms overlook the pool with veiws of the sea or mountains, the only down side to the holiday was the resort which looked dirty and run down.
The best thing about my stay was...hotel staff from the cleaner to the owner ,all so freindly and helpfull.

Lovely! Peaceful and relaxing
Lesley Williams, Chessington
The hotel is small but ideal for peaceful relaxing holidays. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We stayed for 10 days and would thorougly recommend the hotel. It is located in the just of the main street and everything is easily walkable. There is a small car park (but it is small) however, offstreet parking is available around the corner.
The best thing about my stay was...The atmosphere in the hotel

The best hotel we have stayed in for a long while. Spotlessly clean, more-than-helpful staff, great facilities and breakfast was great. Highly recommend and will be going back. Special thanks to 'Timothy' who made our stay. Simon & Emma

Just what we were looking for
Barbara, W Yorkshire
Just returned from a 7 night stay at Sa Barrera. It was just what we were looking for - peace and quiet, no music by the pool and no children! Bliss. The staff were superb and worked extremely hard to make our stay so pleasant. Our room was kept spotlessly clean and we had a free safe, a hand magnifying mirror (useful), air con and hair dryer. Flat screen TV had BBC1 (not that we watched it for long). Breakfast was continental but we could order bacon and eggs as part of the menu too at no extra charge. Freshly made cafe latte was superb. I wasnt looking forward to staying in the resort of Cala'n Porter as had heard bad reviews. However, we were pleasantly surprised. We walked to both Calas Coves and Es Canutells on the Cami Cavalls. We visited the beach via the steps and the sand was clean and sea cristal clear. You can also walk to Son Bou via the Cami Cavalls the other way. The bus service is also good. In short, we found plenty to do for a week. The best restaurant for value and quality was by far Lorengos (2mins from hotel). We didnt eat at the hotel as like to try different places so cant comment on their restaurant. Es Castell is a 15 minute drive away and has some lovely restaurants. We would love to return to this hotel in the future
The best thing about my stay was...Relaxation

An excellent choice for a charming break in Menorca
Neil Brocklehurst, Berlin
This lovely, small hotel thoroughly lives up to its good Internet reviews. The rooms are immaculate, views excellent, the decor very tasteful, including the Moreno chandeliers in the dining room. The receptionist/manageress was very helpful as were the guys cleaning the pool, preparing the car for rent (there are 2 on site for immediate use). It was a great base for a week's holiday in Menorca. I would recommend hiring a car and driving around the Island for a few days, there are lots of hidden treasures, ancient sites and lovely coves to discover, well off the beaten track. The small towns are very pretty too.
The best thing about my stay was...Cleanliness, style, comfort and friendliness. First class.

Sa Barrera is an absolute gem
Barry Archer, Nottingham
This Hotel is a gem! Ignore the star rating, as a regular hotel stayer this deserves a much higher rating. The owners are friendly and thier attention to detail is something you will not find in the large hotels and everything around the hotel is spotless from the cutlery to the bedrooms to the swimming pool and area.
The best thing about my stay was...The price via Alpha Rooms. How do the owners make a living?
