6/10 Good

Fine but don't go on a bank holiday !

Clean, very attractive building. Rooms fine. Restaurant good and cheap although breakfast was cold continental. It is a good way from Krakow centre but public transport cheap and frequent. The hotel was extremely quiet when we were there at end of October (about 6-8 guests in total.) Our main critiscism is that on All Saints Day both bar and restaurant were closed all day and evening (we were told only restaurant would be closed and bar open). There are ABSOLUTELY NO OTHER BARS OR RESTAURANTS in vicinity. We could not get tea, coffee, alcohol or anything. No room service. We did feel that because there were only a few guests, we were low priority.

The best thing about my stay was...

Lovely weather for time of year. Krakow centre lovely.

Adequate but awfully noisy

My partner and I spent 4 nights at the Ruczaj hotel. Two of them were disturbed between 6 and 7 am when a group of tourists were going back and forth in the hall, speaking loudly and banging the door. (It seems like the hotel attracts a lot of groups of tourists, including school trips.) Unfortunately, the hotel has no soundproofing at all. You can hear the person next door sitting on the loo! Also, if you happen to speak Polish, like I do, don't bother as you will be ignored by the receptionists. They seem to respect only the foreign guests. On the bright side, breakfast was lovely. Good choice of cereals, yoghurts, bread, cheeses, hams and pates. The room was adequate too, big enough for two people and always clean. The bathroom was modern and had a good airing system.

Rave about the Ruczaj

I have no complaints about this hotel at all. Yes, it is a short way from town but access is fab even when under three foot of snow! The staff are friendly, helpful and trustworthy (we left our passports in our room and did not realise till we were at the airport. They drove them out to us.) The rooms are comfy and warm with excellent bathroom facilities. The whole hotel is spotless. Actually I have one complaint, there weren't tea/coffee facilities in the room, which would have made this place even better. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Had a great stay!

Ruczaj Review

Although it was a short distance to the town taxi and bus were available. Very clean hotel with daily room cleaning and supply of towels. Excellent Food in their restaurant. Staff are very friendly. Quiet location so recommend if you do not want to be in the middle of Kracow this is your place. Would of liked tea and coffee facilities in the room other than that I would go back again knowing what I know now for example the bus route and taxi prices.

Review of 'Ruczaj'

Just got back after 4 nights in Krakow stopping at the hotel Ruczaj. The weather was very warm most of the time,we did two tours Autwitz and the salt mines, both very good and a must when you are there. The hotel was very good value for money, the rooms spotless and the staff exellent, the only down side was the location about 3to4 pounds for a taxi each way although you could get the bus for about a pound. The nightlife in Krakow is fantastic with lots of underground bars, food and drinks were very cheap with a pint of great beer for just over a pound.the goulash soup realy sets you up for the day,we had a great time and would recommend anybody to go and sample the delights of Poland.

Review of 'Ruczaj'

The hotel was great, quiet, staff frendly and food good. With the hotel being 4km out of town it was only a short taxi ride to the centre which was great.

As I am in a wheelchair other things are important to me eg the bathroom and bedroom.

The bathroom is one of the best i've seen and I have seen a few. The only falt is the mirror is put at a hight for someone standing not in a wheelchair.

The bedroom was also good apart from the bed was far to low and small which made it hard to get off the bed and to move about and dress myself.

Apart from those few things I would recomend the hotel and would stay there again

Mark Cook

PS. Do not drink the VODKA
