Great value for money hotel
Deborah, United Kingdom
Recently had our second stay at the Rubimar and we have no complaints at all. It is exactly as described. The food is fine. Every day the chef cooked me something fresh like chicken or fish or lamb. The buffet food is fine. It is a little repetative but we've had that in top 5 star hotels. Consider how much you are paying and the superb location and you will be impressed. The staff are wonderful and work very hard. My only complaint is how rude some guests can be to the staff! Ask politely and any issues are sorted promptly.
The best thing about my stay was...Good value and location

Great location, loads of room round pool, self catering so can't comment on food. Nice room

Good value if you like having items stolen from room.
Mr e customer, Guildford
We had iPhone stolen and another phone charger. We had to call police to get the complaints form which is a legal entitlement form they have to give you on request. The receptionist was very rude and unhelpful, telling the police that as it was after the midday checkout time we could not complain as we were not a customer. The hotel evicted us after mixing up the paperwork saying we hadn't paid for all the night's and would not honour our hotel voucher.
The best thing about my stay was...Knowing not to use that hotel ever again.

Very good value for money
Bev, Newcastle Upon Tyne
Stayed here for 7 nights and although they are in need of updating (more of a 3*) I can't fault them for the price/value, the apartments are huge with almost everything you need (but no kettle), great location in marina area, very clean and with great staff.
The best thing about my stay was...Staff were very friendly & helpful especially Oscar - he is how all hotel staff should be!

Very pleasant hotel
The hotel is behind the Rubicon Marina. It is right next to two supermarkets and a few shops. It is a 20 minute walk from Playa Blanca centre. The rooms are very large with a separate living area with kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. Our room (203) had a lovely view towards the marina. The bar opens at 11.00 (and breakfast finishes at 10.00, so no drinks for that hour) and closes at 23.00. The food is fine - not gourmet, chips at lunch and dinner - but plenty of choice is you are not a fussy eater, including salad, pasta, bread, meat, fish and desserts. Limited entertainment, reptile show and bird of prey show, karaoke and disco but to be expected out of season. Lovely big swimming pool with plenty of sunbeds and an indoor pool.
The best thing about my stay was...Location and size of room.

Value for money
Bruce wilson, Scotland
Nice location near the marina, absolutely no complaints about the food lots of variety including fresh tuna, fish, pork loin and kebabs cooked on the grill in the evenings the rooms are large and clean and we found all the staff very friendly.the rubimar could do with a bit of t.l.c which on speaking to members of the staff is about to start. ps regarding cleanliness when we were there the pool area was hosed down every second day and sweped at 8am and the rooms cleaned and beds made every day except Sundays and Thursdays as it clearly states in your welcome pack. And if you need clean towels ect just ask.

Great value for money
Don't expect 4 star accommodation, but the facilities and location more than make up for this. The rooms are spacious and can have a great view

Great value for money in a lovely marina location
Great location near the marina. Rooms really big and spacious. Lovely pool area. I would agree the place is not 4 star, it's a bit tired in places BUT look at what you are paying per night before you complain ! I overhead a family moaning and groaning to the poor receptionist which I feel is unjustified. I paid less than £40 per night for a self catering apartment and I felt it was unbelievable value for money. It made me embarrassed to be British when I heard some people moaning about the place. If you want higher quality then pay for it. This is in an excellent location in the most prestigious area of Playa Blanca and I would wholly recommend it. Just remember what you are paying before you complain...
The best thing about my stay was...Great location near the marina.

not 4 star as published.....3 at a push
Russ & Kaz, Essex, England
Stayed as all inclusive.Room good size but basic. Beds uncomfortable, not made every day. Towels in room supplied but were supposed to be changed every 3 days but ours didn't get change for 5days. Food was left in one of the cupboards from previous holiday makers, was asked for it to be removed on 3 occasions but was still there when we left. Pool towels you had pay a day rate and a deposit. Didn't see anyone clean around the pool at all. Entertainment.... what entertainment, alright if you like karaoke. On the plus side food was good, well cooked but not a big choice. Location was good, near harbour and was quiet.
The best thing about my stay was...weather was good

Another great stay at the Rubimar
Scott the Ulster Scot, Northern Ireland
Enjoyed another great stay at the Rubimar with my wife and an extended family member. Room was clean and more than adequate, cleaned regularly and towels changed as and when required. Grounds, pool areas etc clean as well. Pool was cold at first but was ok when you had been in for a bit. Food and drink was good and always plentiful. For me though the staff are what makes this place, so hardworking but always friendly and able to smile. Special mention to Sergio and Nicholas in the bar, the restaurant staff and Luigi the entertainments guy who works his socks off trying to keep everyone happy. My one complaint is the bar closing at 11pm and the whole bar area being closed off leaving everyone outside to finish off their drinks. This results in complaints from the early to bed people due to noise levels, my suggestion would be to seal off only the actual drinks serving area and allow drinkers to remain in the bar area thus reducing the noise level and keeping everyone happy rather than penalising those who like to stay out a bit later. After all we save all year for our holidays too. Overall still a great stay.
The best thing about my stay was...Meeting lots of great friends old and new in lovely surroundings
