Wonderful as always

This is the third time we have been to the Royal Wings, the last time a month ago. The hotel is like a comfortable pair of slippers. The standards are maintained, how they do it I do not know, and everyone you meet has a posotive thing to say. We were their to celebrate a birthday and the hotel were aware of that. They went ouit of their way to ensure the the occassion would be remembered, even to the point that a special cocktail was presented to me in the bar area with the saxophonist playing happy birthday. We are already planning the next trip. Would we go anywhere else? Not a chance. Just go and see what we mean. You will not regret it.

Royal Wings holiday = Quennie x 3 and their King

This is a really nice hotel and we had a great stay. W travelled via ZRH on Swixx from LHR to AYH and I have yto say compared to the usuall Charter airlines this was much more civilised. IK it took longer but then we travelled in daylight and arrived early evening in AYH retuning meant we arrived Tea Time rather than after midnight. Watch out for duty free rukes if yoiu ar travelling thru certain Europena Airports - we bought Duty Free in AYH and had it confiscated in ZRH as travellingon to the UK meant we had to go thru security again and the 100ML rule appies - nobody told us this and €25 worth of VODKA went down the drain - OK if you buy in ZRH though so watch out. Anyway the Royal Wings is v modern just 5 years old and is basically in the shape of a bird in flight (hence thw wings etc) IT's main feature is the pool witch really is 8 connecting pools all 5 foot deep. They ar criss crossed by a series of bridges which get you to the various parts of the sun decks around the pool. The beach, nice nad sandy , is a wlk through the gradens and has plenty of covered loungers, so does the pool as well and i defy anyone not to find a spot, Plenty of umbrellas and trees to get shade from as well, temps in the 30's in late September so it was needed, although the heat was not oppressive. Plenty of eating places especially as this is an all inclusive deal. Apart from the main restaurant, eat in or outside, there are specialty restaurants, serving Italian, Turkish Chinese and a Bistro for after midnight. We ate Italian and I can only say that this was worthy of a Mitchelin Star in prsenarion let alone substance - all 7 corses. During the day eats are plentifull with seperate opening times for the Kiosks that serve amongst others, Fresh fruit, Kebabs, Pizzas, Baked Potatoes sweets and of course drinks. Rgere is also a waiter service beach cafe plus a pool bar and a beach Bar. Room was good and fairly usual for this type of gotel with shower/bath - we had a double and a single bed. Telly is a bir useless though as per ususal with Med countries only BBC world of the English Channels. We also had a problem with our chooce of room not being available on the first night an had to move in the morning. Queenie 2 negitated a free extension to check out time in compnsation. Thees things happen as they say. Travelling Late Sep meant that most of the KIds were under School age and not too plentiful although there did seem to be plenty of Pushchairs. Very varied cleintell, we found, apart from Brits, maanily German but plenty of Baltic, Dutch and Russian as well as some very friendly people from Iran. Would I go back - yep - deffinately

You couldn’t ask for a better ‘family’ hotel!

We were a party of 4 adults, and 3 children (aged 5,6,6). This hotel suited us all. For the kids: There were a total of 10 slides. – 4 for the younger children, 4 for brave kids and adults (our 3 kids loved these) and 2 inflatable ring slides. Did I mention the wave pool?? As you can imagine, the kids thought Christmas had arrived early. The mini fun fair topped of their excitement perfectly. Pools: The long winding pool was clean and perfect. Nicely segregated by bridges, islands, bubble pools and trees – you always managed to find a section for you and the family to swim in. There are plenty of sun loungers. If you want one first thing, then you need to head out and ‘reserve’ it by 8:30am. Saying that, as the place is SO big and pools & slides are spread over the grounds, people move about throughout the day – we had no problems finding loungers throughout the day! Food: Food on demand from 12 midnight until 16:45pm! The only time you can find food is for the hour and 15 minutes before dinner! There was great variety, super quality and quantity. At ever meal you could find ‘safe’ food (cereals, chips, spaghetti, pizza, etc) which is great for kids who don’t want to try the local cuisine. There are 4 a la carte restaurants, and you get to eat in 1 a week for free. We tried the Turkish (which cannot be faulted at all) and the Asian (which too- was superb). Rooms: The rooms are large, clean and nicely decorated. Bathroom is equipped with all you need (hairdryer, toiletries & plenty of towels). Negative – The beds are old, and not comfortable. The mattresses need to be replaced desperately. Unfortunately this is also the case with the pillows. They are cheap and stuffed with foam pieces which have definitely seen better days! The rooms are not great for sound proofing. You can hear next door’s television (if they have it on loud). You can also hear the loo flushing from above! Conclusion: The hotel offers a lot more, I have just mentioned a few activities. All in all, the hotel and the activities were fantastic for the children. The staff were friendly and the food was great. We would definitely look to go back next year.
