We stayed at the Ramada Gateway for 8 nights at the end November/beginning December this year (2017). I had stayed here on many previous occasions and had found it a good, clean hotel with everything I required. However, on this occasion, a number of things were not so good. Check-in was fine and very quick and easy. However, I had requested an accessible(disabled) room because both of us are disabled. My Mum is slightly worse and is unable to use a normal bath shower. She requires a walk in shower with a stool/chair. We also requested a tower room rather than an outside room due to safety issues with 2 disabled older ladies! On check-in, none of my requests had been adhered to. We were put in an outside room in a quiet corner of the hotel instead of a tower room and it was not an accessible room, as I had requested. The one good thing was that there was parking right outside the room. At check-in, I was told that they would get a shower stool for mum, so basically we would have to put up with it or pay extra for a tower room, which I had never had to do before! Apparently, the tower rooms were now classed as 'premium' rooms. However, they were no different to when they were normal rooms. The rooms were not cleaned properly throughout our stay and this was tested in numerous ways, coffee and cups were not renewed, water was left in the icebox for days, there were issues with electricity points. We had to contact Reception many times with issues. There is a good guest laundry and the guest areas appeared clean. The restaurant was good, but breakfast was a bit pricey compared with nearby restaurants and there was far less choice. I'm sure if you stayed in tower rooms the service and cleanliness would have been better. Having stayed at this hotel many times before, I don't think I would do so again.
The best thing about my stay was...Guest laundry and ice machine were close.

Cheap and A Bit Cheerful
Ste and Lynn, Merseyside
We've stayed at this hotel a few times to make up the extra days we need either side of our timeshare week to get the cheapest flights. We've only ever stayed there at late October early November time so we can't really say what it would be like at peak (UK) times, but we've always found it to be quite quiet for a big hotel. Check in has always been trouble free, but you have to leave a £50 room deposit which is paid back after they check the room when you check out , so give yourself a bit of extra time if you're leaving to catch a flight !The bar and restaurant has only ever had a handful of people there , and the hotel feels pretty empty in the evening. This year we had one of the pools to ourselves for most of the day, which was quite pleasant. We think it's good value for money (when booked through Alpharooms) and will continue to stay there as long as we go to Florida, as it suits us perfectly for what we need.
The best thing about my stay was...Perfect for us !!!!!

we booked two rooms one the air conditioning had failed both rooms smelled heavily of damp and musty. we returned to reception and asked for a "TOWER ROOM" so we all shared one room had to pay for an upgrade plus we still had to pay for the two rooms we did not use. I feel we should have been given the upgrade for free because we were swapping two awful rooms for one shabby room but at least the air con did work. the décor of the new room was advertised as de-lux but in reality it looked like a monkey had done the housekeeping. we will not be re-visiting Ramada

I was a bit aprehensive after reading some negative reviews about this hotel. I shouldn`t have worried. The hotel was spotless and the amenities were excellent . I stayed in a room looking out onto the car park and found it so convenient having the car parked right at the door and the 2 pools less than a minute away, The staff were very attentive and friendly and the immediate area is full of diners and restaurants within walking distance. The hotel also offers a free shuttle to Disney/Universal and there is even 1 to the local factory outlets . Overall a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Will definately stay here again.
The best thing about my stay was...Room was perfect for our stay
