A pleasant stay in an excellent location and adjacent to our relatives apartment, the only hiccough being that reception forgot to give us the early morning wake up call! Fortunately our relatives phone "just in case"
The best thing about my stay was...location

Friday night trip
We have stayed in many other higher 'starred' hotels in this area before but the service at Premier Inn outshines them all. Reception were very quick and welcoming on check-in/out and they all knew information on Tube closures and helped with different routes. Breakfast was very busy (9am) but again the staff were very attentive and friendly and there was no pressure to eat quickly. We had a room on the top floor, very spacious for London and even though we could hear the DLR during the day there were no noise issues at night. 1 point to note the Wetherspoons nearby only does breakfast on Mon-Fri.

Loved this hotel, the staff very proffesional and friendly, rooms were spotless, modern and very comfortable, very quiet, and had everything you needed for a relaxing stay. The breakfast was very good value, lots of choice. The location was only 5 min walk from Tower of London and the nearest tube. It has a Wetherspoons bar across the road for another option for good value drinks and food...i would definatley stay here again....excellent.

This hotel 'does exactly what it says on the tin'. I often stay in a Premier Inn on business and this one at Tower Hill did not disappoint from a personal use perspective. We arrived at the hotel at circa 12:00, so well before check in time - this said, we were given the option to check in (albeit only basement rooms were available at this point), or leave our luggage (securely) and check in later (we opted for the latter). We checked out after breakfast on Sunday and the reception staff proactively asked whether we wanted to leave our luggage at the hotel (again, securely), and return for it later. Breakfast was, as ever, as much as you can eat! - a wide range of hot/cold breakfast items, that kept us going until late in the afternoon/early evening! Rooms, as ever, were modern and spotless - really powerful shower, great! I would definitely use this hotel again, it was perfectly located for our athletics event (South of the river) and our evening/Sunday plans in the heart of the city.

Can´t recommend this hotel enough if you are looking for a low-cost comfortable stay in London, we had a fantastic stay, the hotel is just 5 mins walk from Tower Hill tube station, the room was equipped with everything you need, the bed is very very comfortable, the shower is super. the whole place was clean and they serve an excellent breakfast which goes on until 11am! You can´t go wrong with this place!

Stayed in the hotel with my sister and both of us agreed that when we were back in London we would stay here again. The room was large (with the best power shower ever) and quiet, we didn't hear a thing outside our door. Breakfast was fantastic..all you could eat and the staff couldn't do enough for us. Good location with transport down the road and good pubs/restaurants nearby. If looking for a value meal there is a weatherspoons across the street. Definately worth a stay.

Stayed at this hotel April 09. The room was immaculate and spacious. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was tasty and lots of it! There was lots to choose from like cooked breakfast, cereal, juice, fruit, toast etc. We could also leave our luggage when we checked out. The hotel was approx 5 min walk from Tower Hill tube and the Tower of London, so in a good location. The only downside was there were only 2 choice's of draught lager in the bar, one of which wasn't working. This left the only draught being Stella(which I don't like!). Ended up having to have bottled lager which cost more for a lesser amount. Overall good hotel, would definitely stay again, and would reccommend.

London birthday trip
Tony, West Yorkshire
Read some good reviews of this hotel, before I booked it for a 2 day break for my wife's birthday. I was delighted at the standard of the room which was as good as we've had in along time in london. The power shower was ace and shower bigger than usually get in london. We had a great time in london. Had tea at the Ritz which is an experience i recommend everyone tries at least once in their lifetime. It was well worth the £37 pp I paid. I'd have paid twice that for the look on my wife's face when she realsied where I'd booked. The hotel is in good location only 5 minutes from tower Hill tube and a couple of minutes from a handy wethersppons! The staff were also friendliest I've come across in london for a good while. Breakfast was included and nice enough if not exceptional. Am booking again for trip in march.

Week End Break July 08

Just visited this hotel formerely known as the Purple City Hotel(now Premier Inn). The hotel is in a good position 10 minutes walk from tower hill tube station and the tower of London. The hotel is on quite a busy road,on one side of the hotel the train line runs on the entrance side there is building/construction work going on across the road.Dont let this put you off we stopped on the construction side and there wasnt much disturbance. The hotel was under going refurbishment but we found the rooms very spacious, clean and overall well presented. The breakfasts a bit expensive but theres a Wetherspoons opposite where you can get a full breakfast for under £3. The Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and a bonus for over seas visitors was they spoke a few different languages.Overall we had an enjoyable stay (although a word of warning, Londons a big city, take a pair of comfortable shoes and being the capital take plenty of money youll need it).

Excellent value for money
Pat Thomas, Preston, Lancs
The hotel changed its name to Purple Hotel a couple of days after we booked but it made no difference to our booking. We were given an ENORMOUS clean, comfortable basement room. The shower was great - powerful and hot instantaneously and the bathroom itself was immaculate - no cracks, chips or muck. The bed was a delight in which to rest my weary body after days sightseeing and, although one pillow was ample, there were extra on top of the wardrobe. Tea/coffee making facilites with plenty of sachets and milk cartons (altough on our last day we did sneak a small jug of milk from the breakfast room to make a flask of coffee for our journey home). Contrary to the first reviewer I can recommend the breakfast - OK so the room can get rather full and some of the selections did run out towards the end of breakfast time (8.00 - 11.00 Sat and Sun, 7.00 - 9.30 weekdays) but the bacon was crisp, the scrambled eggs delicious, plenty of cereal, fruits, cheese, ham etc. and as much to drink as you want (though, sad to say, no Earl Grey). At a package price £215 for b&b for two of us for three nights it's excellent value. Our basement room kept the noise of the hurricane from our ears - we only became aware of its ferocity when we encountered dozens of abandoned, twisted brollies the following morning. As two old biddies (59 & 60) we didn't feel at all threatened when walking around at any time - the Tower is 5 mins walk away at most and the no 15 bus stops just round the corner. St Pauls and Petticoat Lane are an easy stroll (or we thought so, anyway) and there's a very friendly off-licence/general store if you turn right out of the hotel to the junction and it's just across the main road. Oh. Nearly forgot. We did have a coffee in the foyer when we got back from the theatre on our first night but the chap can't accept cash so it has to be charged to your room. However, the receptionists accepted cash to settle this when we checked out. The front of house staff are extremely friendly (perhaps the breakfast room staff a little less so, but then so would I be if I had to start work pre 6.30am) and, on leaving, will lock your luggage away until you return from your final day's sightseeing and are ready for departure. All in all this is one of the nicest, most comfortable, clean, quiet hotels I have stayed in both here in the UK and abroad and, for value for money, I will have no reservations in recommending it to others.
