Nice and clean hotel
Mimi Anthony, United Kingdom
Plaza and plaza regency hotel is an affordable, clean hotel with all amenities close by and within short walking distance. Hotel is quiet inside but busy outside on the streets as there are lots of restaurants, bus stops and other hotels near by. Buses costs 2euro per journey and takes you to other cities like St. Paul's, Bugibbar, St Julians.
The best thing about my stay was...The room was very clean

Good location for an out of season hotel. Rooms are tired and could definitely do with new flooring and curtains.
The best thing about my stay was...View over the bay and location.

Good and Modern but caution to room booked
Gerry, Isle of Man
Excellent location within short bus ride to Sliema shops or nightlife in Paceville in the opposite direction. Buses very cheap and frequent. Hotel modern with very good service from staff. Breakfast acceptable lacking any wow factor, but evening meal excellent value for money and good quality. Paid for a double room, but appears being single I was allocated an inferior room "inside" the complex with NO outside view, only a very small window facing an immediate wall with no natural light. Room clean and modern, but rather compact and a very small en-suite shower room. Also, no kettle available for teas/coffees. Advised cost of EUR12 to "rent". Not expected in this day of hotel standards. Would use hotel again, but would ensure allocated room with a view - either sea view or land view - even if at a small cost. Only a "7" as internal mechanical drilling every morning from 8.00am
The best thing about my stay was...The evening meal was excellent value, with many courses.

"Getting looked after"
Bob., Winter months, El Campello, Alicante, Spain.......Summer time, Gateshead, Tyne and Wear
I returned to the hotel from my winter home on the Costa Blanca, Spain for my week's relaxation and "true retirement" As per usual, all my personal requests were honoured by the management, who kept a deliberately low profile. Reception was superb and that is all I wanted. My room and bathroom were spotless and cleaned every day. Immediate piping hot water was on hand. A 54 channel t v set. with many of these in English was there for entertainment and the news. The staff were happy, very well mannered and tidily dressed. The food, buffet style was superb and varied daily at dinner time, but you could still have a true "English breakfast every morning, if you wished. Being a hotel, where customers return I met many faces with whom I am now familiar. Relaxation was dominant and friendly conversation ensued. If I wanted to travel, a bus stop is at the door and from this and a free map you can get anywhere. The weekly fare or E21 is very reasonable for frequency and the distances, I travelled, especially to Gozo. However, with the roads being dated, in many place on Malta, the bus timetable was at times quite" haywire". Crowding ensued and on a busy day , this caused the bus driver to ignore waiting passengers. Rest assured, as a mature man, with this quality life and the English language spoken here, I will definitely return next year, leaving my warmer winter home to sample true "lazy," luxury..
The best thing about my stay was...This was all I wanted.

PLAZA PLAZA REGENCY, SLIEMA, MALTA
Bob Errington, Tynesid, England for the summer and Costa Blanca, Sain for the winter.
Again another first class stay. Despite being late on arrival, I was given a voucher for an excellent meal in the non residents lounge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. My room was large, warm and spotless with a colour television and a variety of channels to keep me informed on what was happening in the world from which I wanted to escape. Water in the bathroom was immediately piping hot and after my shower, I lay on one of my beds and immediately fell asleep. I awoke to a very quiet morning, no one else could be heard. I washed, dressed and made my way to the second top floor to dine, stare through the picturesque windows and learn what time Catholic Masses were at St. Patrick's Church, a six minute walk away. On the door to the dining room was a notice telling everyone that a Catholic priest was saying his Mass at 11.30 downstairs to which everyone was welcome .Knowing this I was able to relax and eat a superb meal before I went to attend. The service was in both Maltese and English and everyone seemed to understand. With the sign of peace I met a lot of fellow residents on an informal basis and we ceased to be strangers. A superb start to my intended week of relaxation. Management and staff treated everyone as though each was the only one staying. It was most reassuring for a stranger in a foreign country. If you wanted you were able to rest and relax. Meals were broad in content and quite luscious. They seemed to cater for most tastes. I must endorse this statement by declaring that I put on 7lbs in weight in eight days!!! Mind with the rather expensive bus pass ,this year I toured rather than walked!! Compared to England the weather was quite nice and warm during the day. As a result you could lie or sit on the roof top garden and either relax, read or sun bathe. Life seemed to be catered for. To conclude may I add that although I have my own winter home on the Costa Blanca in Alicante, Spain, this is where I come every year for week and sample the mature luxury, which I love. With the relaxed atmosphere I hope that I will be able to sample this hotel for many more years. Thank you.
The best thing about my stay was...I was allowed to be me.
