Fantastic Entertainment Team!!
Stayed here for 1 week 23-30 August. 4 adults and two 12 year olds and a 9 year old. The Junior Suite was a great size. Perfect for 3/4 with decent sized balcony. We were on third floor overlooking the pool - 301/305. Great view of the sea too. We did move rooms as original from was right the other end of the corridor and too far from the lifts for my mother in law to walk to. Room changed no problem. Glad we asked. The pool is lovely. Great for kids but maybe not for teens. Too shallow. Food was okay. Very samey but then a lot of all inclusive are. Salads and pastas were very nice though. Didn't like the dining area. Needs changing. Way too bright inside with all lights on. Outside nicer but tables plastic and all sloped! Time to upgrade this area really. Bar good but some staff a bit grumpy and finished at 11pm. Bit stingy for AI I thought especially as shows finish at 10.45sh. The best thing was the Animacion team!! Absolutely brilliant with the kids and adults. Very bubbly and outgoing and enjoy a laugh. Shows good fun if you take it for what it is and just join in to have a laugh.
The best thing about my stay was...Entertainment and pool

After being moved three times within the first 24 hours of arriving & all the lifts not working still managed to have a great time although the food wasn't too great so ended up going out for food most of the time.
The best thing about my stay was...The apartments & balconys was massive which included your own sun loungers & table & chairs.

I have stayed at this hotel twice now and I have to say it's a wonderful hotel. The staff are brilliant and will go to any extreme to ensure you have a good stay in tenerife. The rooms are clean (junior suites are beautiful and I would highly recommend them.) The hotel is situated in a quieter resort compared to playa de Las Americas, how ever there are lovely bars at the beach front which is a 5 minute walk. I would recommend this hotel for any one with children or couples. It's a good hotel and priced very wellm
The best thing about my stay was...the entertainment for my 7 year old is brilliant.

So good we have booked to go back next year
We loved this hotel. Junior suite was amazing however wouldn't book an apartment as separate part of the complex. Staff friendly, food good, rooms clean, entertainment good and something for everyone, busy but not horrendously busy for August like some hotel can be - could always get a table in restaurant or entertainment. Returning next year as ticked all the boxes.
The best thing about my stay was...All round great family holiday.

Well all I can say is I wouldn't book there again as we were let down very badly! 14 of us were in the party for my Mums special birthday, 4 families. After being dropped off by transfers two sets of families where told that there was no room in the hotel for us and we were being moved! At 10.00pm at night with children, my mum was deeply upset asthe rest of us! So the damfamilies were split up for the evening, hotel where not helpful and said they had informed our holiday providers...this was untrue! We where whisked off to another hotel to be informed this was for one night only and we had to check out at 12 noon next day to be moved to another hotel, still not with my mother or my other sister. We booked in feb so how in aug they had no room for us! Totally disgusted
The best thing about my stay was...nothing

BEWARE OF BEING OVERBOOKED!
Levis, United Kingdom, Birmingham
How disappointed we were. Having booked in August, we arrived in February to be told we had been doubled booked and they were upgrading us to 5* hotel in a different resort - Golf der Sur. We have family in Adeje so imagine the disappointment of the prospect of having to drive approximately 40-minutes BACK from where we'd come from (the airport). We refused and after arguing with management and speaking to Alpha Room's rep in Tenerife we were moved to another local hotel for three nights. A whole day of our holiday wasted and then the prospect of being moved BACK to the Playa Real! I HATE LIVING OUT OF A SUITCASE. There was no other alternative but to haul our cases down the hill to another hotel. It was okay. Then re-packing on day 4 and off back to the Playa Real and upgraded Platinum All inclusive. WOW. No benefit at all. However having been to a Rep at the Isla Bonita we were informed that we should not have been moved because we were not highlighted on the OVER-BOOKING LIST. Apparently the Government allow 20% of overbooking. This is sharp practice and can ruin a holiday which we Brits save up for and look forward to sooo much. So for the last few days left of our holiday we were settled in the Playa Real. The apartment was separate from the hotel and we had a huge balcony which was the highlight of a poor holiday really. At least we did get to spend some time with the grandchildren. The staff were apologetic and sympathetic but that doesn't always help. It was clean and tidy and staff were helpful. BUT be warned - this over-booking COULD happen to you!
The best thing about my stay was...The apartment with a huge balcony and lots of on-street parking if you hire a car.

This was a wonderful holiday. The place and rooms were clean. Staff pleasant and friendly. Entertainment was great and those lads work hard. had a great time playing Volleyball and water polo. Food was of excellent quality - the choice wasn't huge but what was there was very very nice. The pool was clean. Beach a nice ten minute walk away.

an honest review
service from all staff was excellent particular mention to 'johnny' in the bar opposite reception - room and the pool areas all extreemly clean and well cared for Room was spacious and clean and indeed well set out Poolside bar fine - food (we stayed all inclusive) was ok. A La Carte restuarent was poor - service and food all need looking at. entertainments staff - enthusiastic and all worked extreemly hard although the evening entertainment sound system needs replacing or indeed turning down! (I am sorry but was not only me who found the noise deafening) but with this exception the entertainment was varied and good Location - bit too far from the beach, local restuarents and bars - rather isolated - I would not stay here again for this reason as going down to the town was fine but very hilly on the way back The spa area - total waste of time and space!
The best thing about my stay was...meeting such a varied group of people - the entertainments staff and bar staff

I booked this 4 star hotel from 9th Nov for a week. I had a shabby apartment which was barely 3 star. I did complain to the reception and did speak to the manager but it was full so I couldn't be moved to the junior suites building which did appear to be 4 star. Entertainment was awful, food yuk, only one member of staff on the bar so constant queue of at least 10 people waiting for a drink. Would not recommend this hotel.
The best thing about my stay was...weather

Leanne walker, Stoke on trent
Just returned from this hotel we were a group of 20, 15 adults and 5 children, before coming we read some bad reviews but once there we had a great time we stayed in the studios which were spacious and clean towels changed daily, you could help yourself to soft drinks wine and beer on tap and could be served easily at the bar for any other drinks, the food was quite good bit repetitive and we booked in the al a carte on our last night which was lovely, it's a 10-15 min walk to the beach front and bars but there's plenty to do, overall I'd say a good 3* but they are upgrading the apartments at the moment which look good. Overall we had a great time and would go back.
The best thing about my stay was...Everything that you needed plenty sunbeds beer good

MY HOLIDAY NIGHTMERE JANUARY 2012
JAMES BAILEY, MORETON CHESHIRE
LET ME SAY THAT THIS HOTEL IS A LONG LONG WAY FROM BEING A 4STAR HOTEL, WHEN YOU WALK INTO THE RECEPTION AREA IT LOOKS VERY NICE THE POOL AREA WAS CLEAN AND WELL SET OUT, OUR ROOM A SUITE WAS A NICE SIZE BUT FAR FROM CLEAN, THE DINING AREA WAS TO SMALL FOR THE PEOPLE STAYING HERE WITCH MEANT YOU WERE QUEUING SOMETIMES 20 COUPLES WAITNG TO GET IN FOR BREAKFAST AND EVENING MEAL, ONLY TO FIND A POOR SELECTION OF FOOD, AND MOSTLY COLD (SHOULD HAVE BEEN HOT), THE SNACKS ARE NOT WHAT YOU MAY WANT BUT WHAT THEY LEAVE OUT BY THE POOL BAR FOR YOU TO TAKE. THE LAUNDRY WAS NEVER FULLY WORKING FOR THE THREE WEEKS WE WERE THERE. THE SO CALLED ENTERTAINMENT WAS TERRIBLE ON SOME NIGHTS THIS WAS ONLY ONE GAME OF BINGO WITCH LASTED 1 HOUR AND THAT WAS IT!!, THE CLEANLINESS OF THE POOL AREA WAS SPOT ON IT WAS A DIFFERENT STORY WITH THE ROOMS, WE HAVE HOLIDAYED IN TENERIFE FOR THE PAST 15 YEARS AND ALWAYS STAYED IN 3 STAR HOTELS AND ALL OF THEM WERE FAR SUPERIOR TO THE PLAYA REAL, YOU ARE LOOKING AT A LONG WALK OR A BUS RIDE TO ANY DESCENT SHOPS. ALL IN ALL IT WAS A NIGHTMARE.

The waiters were great. The tv was 10 inch black and white with only german channels. We paid all inclusive but got absolutely no entertainment. Because of the NO ENTERTAINMENT this was not a holiday at all. It was a rip off. TWO STAR AT BEST.

A lot more positives than negatives
First the negatives: We stayed in the suites and they were fine but the apartment blocks air con was not working so people were moved and also pool bar was not open for apartments. The pub was closed for our duration ( just back 07/07/2011) and no nightclub on site either. No English sausages !! The new owners regulary toured the hotel and noted these faults and said all facilities would be open as the hotel got busier. The positives: The suites are brilliant with a seperate bedroom with two 3/4 beds: Large living area with L shaped settee and full kitchen ( including kettle) and lovely bathroom and loads of storage space. The pools are fantastic and loads of beds. The food is great and on par with 5 star in Egypt we visited last year. The staff are great and no daft rule about only ordering 2 drinks at at time. The hotel and pools etc were very clean are towels and new bedding everyday apart from a Sunday. I would say a least 60% of guests were British and the owner say would cater for more british needs in future. The location was a little out about 7 mins from beach but if you wanted nightlife a taxi costs 4 euros to Porto Colon and 10 Euros to Americas. All in all we had a great holiday and met some brilliant people and would stay at this hotel ( warts and all ) again in a minute. Tip is to pay that little bit extra for suite and if you want night life a little more exciting go out after meal and few free drinks and get taxi home. If a family holiday this is ideal place to meet likewise families and enjoy it for what it is. We paid 1200 for two of us including flights from Edinburgh for 2 weeks and this was a massive bargain and hope to repeat in the near future.
The best thing about my stay was...The suites are great.

ok! but not a 4 star
don, west ireland
we stayed here for a week in june 11. Have travelled alot and stayed in many better 3 and 4 star all inclusive hotels around the world. We wouldn't be very fussy but i like to get what i pay for. found the hotel clean and well presented. pool area was lovely Alot of what was advertised didn't exist like the a la carte restaurant and the nightclub and pub. Everything took place at the pool bar. There was a private function on one night we were there and the noise level was crazy until at least 4 or 5 in the morning. also everyone else in the hotel had to drink out of plastic cups that night. The staff were quite unfriendly with the exception of one of the reception staff and one bar man who was there for two nights. The entertainment team were good when they were there but that was no fault of theirs as they were looking after two hotels. Air conditioning wasn't working for a few days of our stay. our rooms door handle fell off everytime you tried to use it, i complained and nothing was ever done about it. the pool tables kept taking money and not releasing the balls, we were more or less told this was our own problem and were refunded one euro after it happened 4 times. The food was fine but not much of a choice.( nothing fantastic but expected with all inclusive ) The location is a bit far from eveything but i should have researched that before i went, 15-20 min walk to the beach and resort area, 5-10 mins to the shop. overall our stay was ok but it's not a 4 star, more like 2 star and i wont be staying again. Will go back to tenerife again though.
The best thing about my stay was...the pool area

Quiet and Relaxing - Perfect
Dave and Lynn Stringer, Puerto de Santiago, Tenerife
On first walking into the Reception area we got the WOW factor. A very large, sweeping staircase welcomed us with 2 small Elephants either side. It was all very "Asian" looking. On booking into reception the male Receptionist was very polite and efficient. Our room was available straight away, we arrived about mid-day. Our "Junior Suite" was great. Very large, very clean and was amazed at the facilities for a hotel "room". The bathroom was first (clean towels, soap, shower gel etc), then the large bed (2 large singles put together), then down a couple of steps to the lounge area. Not only did it have an "L" shaped settee but there was also a mini kitchen with microwave, fridge, utensils etc. The balcon was large with a great view. The pool area was very large with plenty of beds and umbrellas. The Pool Bar never run dry..... Ok, the snacks wern't brilliant, but we never went hungry. The buffet style restaurant and staff were very efficient. Plenty to eat again. Ok, they didn't have English bacon or sausages, but there was plenty other foods to eat. They need a lot morre training on getting the fried eggs right, but the scramnbled eggs were great. You had the choice of house wines, beer & soft drinks. If you wanted a more up market choice, then they had a wine menu from which you could purchase bottles. But hey, the choice was enough - Sangria was fantastic. All the staff we encountered were very polite and most of them could speak English and new exactly what you were asking for. So all in all for the money that we paid to stay here, we couldn't complain.
The best thing about my stay was...The whole relaxing and friendly atmosphere.

OK but 3*
So not 4 star. Poor reception staff. Repetitive but ok food with little choice - nice salads and breakfasts. Stale bread, nice icecream. Restaurant too small - sticky floors! Between 10 and 7, hot drinks only available in plastic cups. Lots of safety issues. Kids equipment dangerous. Evening entertainment is in the main building and so can be avoided. Nice pools. restaurant staff very professional and friendly. Decoration in annex building is very poor. Hotel in need of repair. 3 star at best.
The best thing about my stay was...Quiet Pool out back. No loud late night entertainment.
