Excellent hotel

Having chosen this hotel mostly on location (and reviews) I am pleased to say that I had an excellent stay. The hotel is located 2 minutes from Central Station and you can see it across the road as you emerge from the station. The staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating. I didn't opt for the breakfast, as it was priced at 25 Euros and I felt this was a little pricey, however having walked past the dining area it looked a cosy environment to enjoy a bite to eat. With its central location, all the major attractions are within walking distance and there is a small stand in the foyer offering discount vouchers for most of the 'must see' sites. The rooms were clean and tidy. Unfortunately I did get a room overlooking the air con units so I can't say it was a particularly exciting view, although i'm sure a view over the river (which I did request) would have been quite magical at sunset and sunrise. I was in one of the 'superior' rooms and it was perfectly pleasant. I have to agree that it was quite dated, but the room itself I couldn't fault. Great shower with a selection of toiletries on offer. I found it a bit frustrating to find a bottle of water in the room, with a tag around the neck saying it was 5 euros, so I just went out and bought my own. I really couldn't find much wrong with the hotel and to be honest aside from sleeping I was out and about so the minor things I overlooked. Being central it does mean you've got the option to pop back if you need to without relying on a tram ride. There is a deposit to pay on arrival, which is refunded to you when you check out. In addition there is city tax to pay when you complete your stay. Neither of these things were made clear when I booked. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Book with confidence.

Fantastic location - was a bit of a trek to our room and not many signs so took a while to work out the best way up and down. Rooms were smallish but adequate. Friendly staff and good selection for breakfast.

Great hotel!

My partner and I had a 3 night stay in the Amsterdam Park Plaza for the second year running, this again was a brilliant trip and the hotel was up to our expectations, although disappointed that we could not have any beauty treatments as planned due to staff holidays the rest the stay made up for it and we had a lovely stay. The hotel is very clean and the Elemis toiletries were a lovely bonus.

Pricey, but worth it

Hotel is in an excellent position. As soon as you leave the front of Central Station, the hotel is right across the road, literally 1 3 minute walk. We arrived at 10.15am and fully expected just to dump our cases and wander around for 4 hours until we could check in. The lady on reception was excellent, we could check in straight away and we were upgraded to a Superior Suite. Gorgeous room in the Garden Wing, all mod cons and lovely furnishing and we faced the Central Station - great to look out the window and people watch. However, if you had a room between the 2 buildings, you'd face the opposite wall or someone elses room, not great really. Breakfast was lovely, a really big selection, enough to fill you up all day. There is a gym downstairs, but you pay 15 euro to use it, and then if you want the steam room, its another 15 euro - quite expensive really. All staff very very friendly and helpful

Great hotel

Stayed 2 nights at this hotel. 5 minutes walk from the train station and just round the corner from Amsterdam shops, bars, museums etc. Breakfast was plentiful. Well stocked buffet with hot and cold foods, fresh bread and lovely fruit. We were upgraded on arrival to an executive suite at no extra charge - beautiful room with huge bed. All staff at the hotel were friendly and very helpful.

Just as it should be

This hotel is well placed for visiting Amsterdam, and its position opposite the Central Station means that getting there by train from Schiphol really couldn't be any easier. The reception staff are welcoming and friendly; the porters very helpful and the room was superb. The breakfast is very good, with a huge choice of menu to suit all tastes. This is the second time I've stayed at the Victoria and would recommend it to anyone.
