The hotel is filthy, looks like it has not been cleaned since I was last there 9 years ago(when it was quite decent, hence my return),The carpets in the corridors have to be seen to be believed they are beyond disgusting. Only had breakfast 3 times in 11 days, much nicer to eat out even though I'd paid for it. Didn't use the pool as I didn't wish to put my towels on the sunbeds, such was the state of them. The towels in the bathroom appeared to be even older than the hotel, I have honestly never seen such shabby towels in a hotel. Bedding had not been changed after 8 days, had to ask the maid(who was very nice and the only positive thing I can say about the hotel) It is truly the worst hotel I have come across in 35 years travelling abroad. I genuinely would not stay here if I won a free holiday!!!!

Very good value for money
Clare, Southern England
We were a party of two staying for a long weekend to take part in the Malta Marathon in late February, we booked two twin rooms for single person use with breakfast for four nights, for which we paid £90 each. This was our second stay at the hotel and we found it excellent for the price. The rooms were spacious and clean, decor perhaps a little "tired" but this wasn't a problem. We had bathrooms with bath and excellent shower, hairdryer, small fridge, tv, air con and a tiny balcony. Buffet breakfast was excellent and plentiful. Staff were helpful and efficient and always on hand. Situated a few metres up a side road from the seafront with many restaurants nearby and a short walk down to Sliema main shopping and ferries area. The hotel also houses a small Chinese massage service which we can highly recommend, excellent for runners!

The hotel was good but the downside for myself and my other traveler is that there was no wifi in the rooms if you needed to do something important by e-mail etc.you had to go down stairs .The breakfast was not that great as most mornings the selection was very boring. The staff were very helpful .The rooms were very comfortable and very clean.
The best thing about my stay was...the food places were easy to get too.

Very basic adult youth hostel. Students over running the place. Very tired and worn looking rooms. Dull dreary reception area. Definitely NOT a four star hotel

Very good value for money
Stayed for a week with a friend while we took part in the Malta Half Marathon. Paid £109 for each room B&B 7 nights. Facilities in room were an ensuite, tea and coffee facilities, towels and toiletries, TV, small fridge, air con and small balcony with a bit of a sea view, plus free wifi in the lobby and restaurant area. Breakfast was plentiful and very good choice. Housekeeping was daily and very thorough. Evening meal was a buffet for €13, plentiful and varied, including dessert and fruit. The hotel is quite dated but we had no complaints at all for what we paid and found the staff friendly. The location is excellent, just yards from the seafront and numerous restaurants. A little noisy outside at night but that's not the hotels fault!
The best thing about my stay was...Price and room facilities.

Stayed here twice this year, First time in August went without too much room for complaint, this time however was simply atrocious. Late check in around 11pm and we found maurading teenagers abound, one of which knocked on the door of our room looking for his friend.. a very unpleasant room to say the least (room 403) STINKING of tobacco , curtain hanging off the rail, air-conditioner surround absolutely filthy and mattresses that quite simply were so hard the floor was a better option. With the hour, tried just to suffer it but couldn't bear the smell so went to ask for a different room. Woman on reception appeared to be half asleep/disinterested/heard it all before- and on the end of several complaints including mines, finally informed us she didn't have another room but we could change to a room in nearby hotel- ok I replied, let's do it! A full fifty minutes of hanging around later we were escorted to the other hotel.....rechecked in and then escorted to ANOTHER hotel round the corner- The Astra. I've slept in more comfortable youth hostels..... Ye olde -think 1940 with a chain lock on the inside of the door for your security, shower room so small and dark that the sink was outside in the room, saving grace of no smoke, sleep-able mattress and beautiful view a.m. Couldn't wait to go home, but decided to go back to the Park en route to see the manager and give him/her the opportunity to address my complaint before posting on Trip Advisor or elsewhere. Inexplicably the duty manager was same woman from during the night, smiled and agreed /nodded , no excuses offered and bizarrely gave us a number to call when next time you visit and I'll make sure you get a nice room!!! In the words of Victor Meldrew 'I don't believe it!' Night away was a birthday surprise for my partner, wish we'd just stayed at home, avoid the Park Hotel like the plague! Awful! Room Tip: Bench on Sliema waterfront a better option

Definitely not a four star hotel
Alison and Garry, England
This may have been a four-star hotel in the past but those days are long gone. The decor is tired and tatty. Carpets were very dirty and there was a stale smell in the corridors. Hotel room was acceptable but air con not working efficiently and I was unable to sleep for 2 nights when it was hot. The food is basic, lacked variety and was very salty. The chef was grumpy and didn't seem to want to part with his food. There is no entertainment in the evening and the only tv with anything worth watching is a small one in the bar. The indoor pool was not open, gym equipment not working. On the plus side, it was cheap and I guess you get what you pay for. It's also in a good location as long as you are not looking for a beach holiday, it is also good for getting around the island by bus. Don't hire a car as there is nowhere to park.
The best thing about my stay was...The location.
