Beautiful old hotel with painted ceilings (especially in the breakfast room). grand staircases (but mostly used the lift). Good selection for breakfast with cheese and ham that tasted as it should for those eccentric English. friendly and helpful staff, especially when we had severe rain on our first night which flooded the bathroom. Easy shift to another room, although less palatial but still adequate.
The best thing about my stay was...the building itself and the staff

We were a group of ten. The hotel's accommodation delighted most of us although some felt there rooms were rather cramped. The location to all the major sights was within walking distance. Breakfast was plentiful, although again there were so many tables crammed into it, however, I imagine in warmer weather you could also have chosen to sit on the upper terrace. As we were a group of ten it would have been nice to have a lounge area or a bar to meet up in.
The best thing about my stay was...Convenient airport transfers. Staying in a place with history seemed appropriate for our Florence trip.

Great location. fabulous breakfast room
Great location, close to SMN train station. We arrived and departed by train which was only a short stroll away. The hotel is in an old Palazzo and the staircases and particularly the breakfast room are fantastic. However the lift does not go to the top floor so beware of rooms on the 4th and 5th floor unless you like climbing stairs. We stayed on the 5th and while it was certainly 'a room with a view' there was a long staircase to climb which was hard work after a long day exploring the delights of Firenze
The best thing about my stay was...Location, close to train station and you can see the duomo from the front door

Sensation of being at an old palace
It was quite good, the room a bit small, but good and clean bathroom, very tall ceilings and ancient corridors, as you were in a palace. Very nice and near the Duomo, good breakfast too.
The best thing about my stay was...Pretty Style and centertown

Paris in Florence
Carole Glasgow, Glasgow
This hotel is in a building built in 1500's and has all the old world charm one would expect. It is in a great location just 5 minutes walk from the station and the same from the Duomo. Our three bedded room was hugh with a canopy over the bed and fresco on the ceiling. The bathroom however was modern and clean with lots of proper towels not the usual Italian tea towel!.The breakfast was ample with lots of choice and the breakfast room had the most amazing fresco. The staff were helpful and friendly. This was a really good value hotel and I would recommend it.

Review of Paris
Really good location, 5 mins from train station, 5 mins from Duomo. The area felt safe to walk around at night. It's an interesting hotel made up of a maze of corridors and with frescoes on the ceilings, which fits in well with the ambience of Florence. Our room was very spacious (although the bed was a little short!) and clean. The staff were helpful and friendly and breakfast was good. Good value for money, would recommend.

Excellant location 5 minutes from both bus & train stations and walking distance to many sights. We asked to move room as the 2 rooms we were given 501/502 were very dismal ,only roof lights and no views other than fridge motors on the roof top.We were moved the next morning and the staff were very helpful at all times .Breakfast was ok and all you should expect from a 3 star city hotel This hotel is in a time warp and thats why I would rate it 4 out of 5 if you seek modern charms the look elsewhere.

Review of 'PARIS'
Nick Efthymiou, Merseyside, England
The Hotel Paris boasted a character and atmosphere that very much reflected the fibrance of the wonderful city of Florence. The location of the hotel is second to none, we were no more than 10 minutes walk from all of the major attractions and no more than a 3 minute walk from the train station (which is essential if you are flying into Pisa Airport). The hotel staff were extremely friendly, helpful and spoke excellent English, the rooms were nicely decorated with comfortable beds, flat screen satellite TV and mini bar. The only reason that I haven't given the hotel 5 out of 5 is because the rooms were slightly noisey due to noisy cars and ambulances zooming by. However my tip to overcome this problem is to go out at night, sample the excellent cuisine that can be found in any of the city's restaurants, have a bottle of chianti and you should sleep like a baby!! My girlfriend and I adored Florence and would strongly recommend it and the Hotel Paris (oh and book through Alpharooms! The price we paid on the net was far lower than that which was advertised in the hotel itself).

Review of 'PARIS'

The Paris is a five minute walk from Santa Maria Novella church and station and within eyesight of the Duoma. Situated in a narrow street, a cream canopy over a narrow entrance hides an elegent interior. Our room was spacious and on two levels, the upper one had a table and two elaborate chairs with windows opening onto a view over Florence that included rooftop garderns and the church. Staying there is a bit like stepping back in time, frescoes on the breakfast room ceiling, paintings on every wall, heavily draped windows and new red and gold carpeted staircases. The surroundings are surpassed by very friendly helpful staff, the porters even carried cases to your room while engaging in genial Florentine conversations. The lift is slow and only operates in part of the hotel, our room with a view was reached by twenty or so stairs to the "Doors of Paradise". Very good value for money!
