The Costa Blanca’s boldest resort
Benidorm is bold, brash and buzzing – just the way its thousands of returning visitors like it. Situated on the sun-soaked Costa Blanca, Benidorm is a high-rise, high-attitude haven for holidaymakers who like their holiday lively and loud. This larger than life destination is well-known for its beaches, bars and dedicated following of international tourists.
From bars to beaches
Benidorm comes alive after dark with comedians, cabaret, drag queens and clowns. Night-owls will find the majority of bars and pubs located in The Square, which is perfectly placed in Benidorm’s town centre. Keep the party going until sunrise on the ‘Top Road’, where you’ll find a cluster of super clubs and big name DJs. Daytime bliss can be found on Benidorm’s two stunning sweeps of beach, Levante to the east and Poniente to the west. Both have clean, soft sand and clear, safe water.
Places to eat, shop and see
Benidorm’s choice of restaurants and cafes is impressive; food ranges from Sunday roasts to gourmet gastronomy, from traditional Spanish tapas to McDonalds. Wander into the Old Town for more traditional eateries and a real taste of Benidorm’s authentic Spanish culture. With cobbled streets and a maze of shops and restaurants, the Old Town is a charming break from the electric atmosphere of modern Benidorm. A variety of waterparks, theme parks and nature reserves lie just outside the town centre. Venture further afield to Alicante (50 minutes by car) for streets lined with shops and a pretty port overlooked by a castle.
Things to do in Benidorm
On the beach in Benidorm
With over 1.2 miles of golden sand, Levante Beach is the perfect place for a day spent by the sea. Pick a spot, settle in the sunshine and relax, safe in the knowledge that there are key facilities such as toilets, showers and shops close by.
Sunbeds can be pricey so pack some beach towels to lie on.
Eat and drink in Benidorm
Benidorm Old Town is a world away from the bright lights and noise of its modern counterpart. The charming, traditional restaurants found here serve delicious tapas and fresh fish. Pull up a chair on the cobbled streets and enjoy an authentic Spanish dish whilst watching the world pass by.
Tapas are small, tasty dishes usually ordered in 4s or 5s; they’re the perfect size for sharing and for trying different things.
After drinks in The Square, hail a taxi and head to the epic Top Road. If you’re in the mood for dancing then this row of super-clubs will see you through to dawn – most of them are open until 8am. Penelopes and KU Benidorm have been going for years and come highly recommended.
Buying drinks in The Square will be cheaper than in the Top Road clubs themselves.
Shopping in Benidorm
Benidorm’s indoor market is situated on Calle Girona; it’s open every day other than Sunday and is especially popular with tourists, selling a variety of British goods. Exchange holiday money at Sheila’s or find your ideal holiday read at Browse Awhile Bookstore.
Cast members from ITV’s Benidorm are said to shop here whilst filming nearby.
Things to see in Benidorm
Aqualandia was Spain’s first water park and has earned a well-deserved reputation as being fun, safe and clean. There are water rides to suit every age and swimming level, from ‘infantile’ to ‘radical’ attractions. Exciting, relaxing and a great way to cool down on a hot day in the Spanish sun.
Keep the cost of the trip down by bringing your own food and drink, which can be enjoyed in pretty picnic areas.
Amigos Restaurant and Roof Terrace
Amigos Restaurant and Roof Terrace has rave reviews online, with customers praising the friendly staff, excellent food and charming atmosphere. Try the delicious Sangria, said to be the best in Benidorm, or the steak, which is cooked to perfection every time.
On Plaza Constiucion 4, is reasonably priced with fresh cocktails and a fun atmosphere. Take a seat in the sun on the terrace, Mojito in hand, and watch life in Benidorm Old Town pass you by. The owners will make you feel so welcome one visit won’t be enough.
Romeria del Corpus
The Romeria del Corpus is a traditional Andalusian fiesta that happens every year in June. It’s a vibrant, 3 day long festival which sees participants dress in colourful costume and perform dances. There’s usually a fairground and horse processions too.
Aqualandia in Benidorm
A must-visit destination for the family. This thrilling water park is home to a great range of slides and pools. There are some nice grassy areas to relax and eat. Try to buy tickets in advance.

Good all round accommodation
Palm beach is a nice I’d say 3 star accommodation, kept clean and tidy throughout our stay, maids very friendly, only downside I’d say was food was a bit bland, and deserts weren’t really deserts nothing much to choose from, no ice cream at all which was odd? Location not the best at the top of a steep hill, says in Advert there is a shuttle service but in the 5 days I was there i didn’t see it at all?
The best thing about my stay was...Nice pool area

OK, wouldn't rate as 4*
I wasnt that impressed with the Hotel. The 2 members of staff on the reception when we arrived were lovely but after that I didn't find the staff helpful. We never had towels in our room to begin with tried to call reception - no answer. When I asked for towels it wasn't a problem but when we got back to the room they were there and were dirty! I found the rooms quite small. The shower was good!

I stayed here for 8 nights recently and couldn't fault it. Clean and quiet and friendly. I arrived at 9.50pm and the receptionist said I could still have dinner if I wanted as the restaurant was open until 10, but once in I could take my time. Nice meals nightly and varied , contrary to some peoples reviews, different choices every day. Also nice and quiet as just outside main strip.10 minutes walk down to town. Some reviews say the hotel is at top of a steep hill,it is on a hill, but I wouldn't call it steep. I am 70 and walked down and back every day and again nearly every evening. But for the more infirm there is a free shuttle bus every 15 minutes from the hotel to town until 6.30pm. I must admit I used it a couple of times when it was there in town for my return.
The best thing about my stay was...Everything

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights September weekend. Lovely friendly staff and hotel rooms were really nice. Ours was pretty small for four of us but for all you are in it really. Good value for money and we had B&b the breakfasts were lovely. The only thing I would say is that the young groups should be kept to one area of the hotel and families to the other. We had two young kids and they had trouble sleeping with some other guests but I wouldn't have complained everyone is there to enjoy themselves but at the same time the hotel could maybe try and place people better. Only other negative was the pool was really cold.
The best thing about my stay was...Decent showers and air con and English tv channels.

Big hotel, but out of the way

We arrived at Palm beach hotel at about 8.30pm. Check in took minutes, lovely receptionist explained all different things. Room was clean and had been updated, very pleased. Went straight to dining room, again, lovely helpful staff. Tea was nice, but got a bit boring, same s amey, breakfast was good, coffee was gorgeous. Usual sausage bacon fried eggs tomatoes hash browns etc. Pool area was big and very spacious. The only downside was the walk back, I had read the reviews bug thought "no problem" but if you've been walking around all day and with the heat it's hard work. Overall, we we're pleased to of booked with alpha rooms, will certainly use again.
The best thing about my stay was...Friendly staff and big spacious hotel

2nd time at Palm Beach, this time we were All Inclusive (must stay minimum of 7 nights to qualify ) Hotel was just as good. Why do some people give such bad reviews. Our standard double room was cleaned daily with fresh towels. The restaurant is very nice with tablecloths changed each time someone leaves after their meal. The food is varied each day and very tasty. The staff were very polite and friendly. Reception staff were also very helpful. Two transit vehicles shuttle to and from beach if you don't want to walk which is free.
The best thing about my stay was...Everything! !!

Just back from short break in palm beach Benidorm. Hotel looks great from reception. Corridors very narrow .rooms comfortable but outdated. Breakfast good selection but dinner menu poor. Great pool but usual towels on beds from early morning until late evening and never used. Found all staff pleasant except one waitress that slammed water bottles on table at dinner. Overall nice hotel but up a VERY STEEP HILL.courtesy bus into town every 1/2 hour but every time we tried to get it it was full.

Food was poor, most dishes were cold and the same every day, staff are very hard working. Pool is lovely but only for strong swimmers. Reception is lovely and well decorated but the rooms are tired and old fashion. Cleaners came into the room without knocking.
The best thing about my stay was...The pool and free wifi, pleasant staff
