What an amazing hotel for relaxation. Very clean. Loved everything about the hotel
The best thing about my stay was...Relaxed atmosphere. We were there for new year and the hotel put on an amazing night. The food was delicious and a brilliant night finished off with an amazing fire work display. Thank you Occidental Javier Mar.

Went with my boyfriend for 7 nights. Spotless hotel with friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. Wifi was shocking though, so come prepared with downloads! Pool area always clean and loads of food and drink all day if you're all inclusive! Beach is a bit far but is worth the walk! Only downfall was the spa. I paid €45 for a "pedicure" that was supposed to last 45 minutes. The woman took €50 and didn't offer me change, I said nothing as it was before the treatment began and I had planned to tip anyway. However, all she did was cut, file and paint my toe nails (badly) and finished after 30 mins. Massive let down for such a lovely hotel.
The best thing about my stay was...Clean hotel with great sea views

Food was lovely and a great selection. Rooms cleaned perfectly every day. Entertainment was just ok mainly conducted in Spanish. Would suggest staff try to involve kids more in day time activities. Staff friendly. Only downside was having to pay for wifi and only being able to use one device, not good for families with gadget mad kids. Beach is beautiful bit of a hill. But taxis are so cheap. We really loved our stay here.
The best thing about my stay was...Lovely food and cleaniness

A great stay
Mum, North wales
Just returned from Barcelo Jandia Mar and had a really lovely time!!! Family rooms are two adjoining rooms which is fantastic when you have teenage girls.....rooms were cleaned every day. Food was fantastic but what let it down was lack of table space and the hectic serving area!!! Think two sittings would be better!!! Entertainment was a little poor but that didn't bother us. Jandia beach is fantastic and definitely worth a visit. Hotel is on a very steep hill but is great exercise for those leg muscles or only 3 euros for a taxi!!!! All in all a very enjoyable week......and the weather was fantastic!!!!!!
The best thing about my stay was...Good food and relaxing!!!

IM A MUCH TRAVELLED GUY WITH TIMESHARE ETC,BELIEVE ME THIS HOTEL IS BEAUTIFUL AS ARE ALL BARCELLO ESPECIALLY IN FUERTEVENTURA,THE FOOD IN JANDIA MAR IS FANTASTIC THE BEST WEVE HAD.tHE SELECTION AND QUALITY WAS BRILL 10/10 BE PREPARED TO DIET WHEN YOU GET BAC HA.If your gonna be picky maybe its 4star instead of 5star because a/reception could be more professional.have to fill out a card with your details.a bit of a pain when all you want to do is put your case down and have a drink.always queues so i guess they have to put more eficient people behind there but hey thats being picky. b/pools were a little cold at first but got hotter by the day.beautifully clear though and big c/weve got a very comfortable bed at home so maybe where spoilt but these could be more comfortable, again being picky sos
The best thing about my stay was...food unbelievable

Return visit and just as good.
Very good hotel, rooms spacious and clean, food very good, the restaurant could be a little chaotic at times but all that is required is a bit of patience. Pool area's nice with plenty of available sunbeds. Nice Bar area and Terrace with very little queuing, if you like wine and Beer its help yourself.
The best thing about my stay was...Fantastic weather and totally relaxing stay

Great Family Hotel
Valerie Schormans, Braintree
This is a great hotel for families with children under 16, if bringing older teens it would help to bring more than one. Would be good for family groups together, young extrovert couples but not a hotel for couples looking for total relaxation or sophistication. Would be suitable for groups of young adults if it were not such a family hotel as late antics disturbs families with small children. The animation team work really hard, but always have big smiles on their faces, providing entertainment all day long. They are all talented dancers too. There is a smaller children's activity club (mini club) where adults can get a break for a while and staff are extremely child friendly, in a good way. Don't worry about the hill, though wear non slip soled shoes as its extremely steep rather than long. Taxi's are 3.50e (booked by reception) into the main beach further along (sea front restaurants/shops) taxi rank locations shown on the free maps in reception and there is a shuttle bus 9,10,11am returning 4, 5, 6pm but this only takes you to/from bottom of hill. We hired a car in the hotel costing 41e for a Ford Fiesta but if you take a taxi to the beach strip there is a Hertz at 22e per day up a side turning. We chose the hotel because the hotel has a convenient car park and the car is delivered there and you leave it there when finished. If you want to hire a car, buy a good map in the UK before you go as the main towns have petrol symbols on the free maps but you still have to find them! Also a good guide book sourced in the UK would be good as the ones there are very tourist based. All facilities were clean and tidy with plenty of sun beds (but you will need to be up early to get the shady ones!) Towels on beds the night before is forbidden. Costs:- SAFE HIRE - 3e per day so two weeks is 42e (£36) TOWEL HIRE - 10e up front but you get this back on return. WIFI - 25e per week (and keeps cutting off and asking for you to re enter your password or you cannot access it at busy times. I just bought boosters the 2nd week. MEALS/DRINKS (summer):- Breakfast 07.30-10am, Lunch 1pm - 3pm, Dinner 7pm - 10pm Buffet snack bar 12noon - 6pm. Pool Bar - 10am - 11pm except Tues/Wed 10am - 6pm Theatre bar - 9pm - 11pm Lobby bar 6pm - 12am Discotheque - Drinks not included 11.30pm - 1.30am (Over 18's only but for older children can be allowed with parents written permission at reception.) Cold breakfast available before 7.30am on request previous day (at reception). Food is varied and caters for all tastes and nationalities. A fair Chinese meal is served on Saturday nights. There is a choice of salad, pasta, meat and fish available every night, with desserts and cheese/biscuits or fruit. One thing, if you are British and like a nice cup of tea, this is only possible in the morning when cold cereal milk is on offer. Machines only have hot milk. At peak times when the hotel is very full, it can be difficult to find a table with cutlery on, ready, at lunch and dinner. The reps do work hard to get people involved in activities round the pool but don't press you 'too' hard to join in, more of a persistent encouragement. They are nice about it and it does get people interacting nicely! Evening is slightly different. If you are bashful UK types sit right at the back in the shadows or by the open exit doors on the sides to make an exit when recruiting from the audience. I got roped in on our last night which I did actually enjoy it in the end but witnessed a couple of extremely shy English people who looked like they wanted the ground to open up and swallow them. If you are shy, don't believe Jason when he says its not embarrassing!. The French and Spanish are so much less inhibited than us. Games with balloons are hilarious and a bit suggestive to adults but kids would not pick up on it (clever). On to nationalities the hotel attracts lots of Spanish and French, English and Germans less so. All very polite, nice helpful and friendly in our experience. Beach is stunning, huge sandy beach with beautiful clear water. Sun beds can be purchased but don't go on a windy day as the wind wips the sand up to knee level quite aggressively. Once on the beach it is not near any facilities for drinks and food, so take these along. Word about the wind. If you have a tiled roof on your room and its very windy, its also very noisy as the wind rattles the tiles. Ask for a middle floor room. Excellent power shower and everything worked well. AM around the upper pool is stretching and water aerobics and PM is water polo and zumba/salsa classes, every day. My 17 year old daughter did all except water polo. Take lost of sun lotion including high factors - its expensive to buy at 10-14e as the sun can be 'very' strong especially if there is not much wind (the wind actually provides some comfort when sunbathing). Buy one of the new apply once waterproof ones as you will be in and out of the pool all the time. If exploring the island, give Gran Tarajal a miss, its really for island people. We did visit the Caves at Ajuy which was quite spectacular, safe enough but refreshingly devoid of the British excessive health and safety rules. Very geologically interesting, as is the whole island. There is a lovely Scottish lady who sells hand made jewellery in the evenings and her husband, who often sits on the large sofas upstairs is a geologist, so if you want to find out about the geology you could seek him out. When speaking to him he informed us that the hotels in Fuerteventura take on around five cats which they give food scraps to, they also get the females neutered and cut the top corner of one ear off as evidence that this has been done. Kids and cat lovers love the cats around.
The best thing about my stay was...Never bored, never hungry, great weather, good fun.

Just returned from 2 weeks at hotel and could not find any faults. Lovely friendly staff, the entertainment was incredible, they really made ours hoilday. Main restaurant was clean. Rooms clean as well. Food varied, plentiful, good choice of everything at breakfast lunch and dinner. This hoilday was absoutly amazing, one of the best hoildays we have been to.
