The hotel is lovely and clean only a 8-10 minute walk from le Duque Beach and promenade. This would be my 7th stay in Adeje but my first time staying at Melia. I was on the 4th floor where the room was great and so was the balcony ...although I would have preferred a lounger on the balcony as most of the other resorts offer in this area. I went half - board - the first time I have tried this and to be honest i would not do this again as I am a bit of a foodie and like to try out different restaurants. Many of the residents are on full board...which is fine if that is your thing...but it does create confusion with the staff and can be seen as borderline rude each time you order a drink...if you don't have a wrist band...you get the bill before the drink ..not sure about others....but I like to have a drink before my meal and relax and not to feel like a criminal...why not give different colour wrist bands out? Breakfast is nice very on par with with what other hotels in the area are doing and cruise ships style. Dinner the food did not taste of much....it lacked flavours...Service in the main restaurant did leave a lot to be desired on occasions. Some of the staff are very nice and pleasant some were very aloof and borderline rude.... The pool activities appeared to be good and so was the gym. Johan & Eugene at the pool area and Also Maria at reception were very pleasant. There were other single travellers but there was not any focus to make them feel welcome... There a lots of lovely restaurants in this area especially in la Caleta...you are spoiled for choice. My only fear is the area is being built up ...give it another 2 years it will be time to look for another idyllic location. If you are looking for a quiet place with some luxury ...it is a lovely place to chill.
The best thing about my stay was...The Views. balcony & Pool Area

Absolutely fantastic holiday
Alice S, London
We stayed for a week on the all inclusive package and simply cannot recommend it enough! From arrival to departure the staff were always helpful and friendly, the room was beautifully clean and it's only a short walk down to the beach. Every meal is buffet service but the choice is huge and offers something delicious for anyone! The pool is also great, remember to get down early to put your towel down though because this is something they don't stop you doing and the good sunbeds will get snapped up. Overall, truly great holiday and if you're thinking about it, I'd say go ahead and book it!
The best thing about my stay was...Food and cocktails (I recommend all inclusive)

Nice hotel but could be better
Local lass, British isles
This hotel is located atop a hill. Reception staff were excellent. Room lovely with beautiful view but road noise could be heard. Cleaning staff nice and hotel was immaculated. The restaurant is a free for all, often other people took our table and it felt like we were in a school canteen.
The best thing about my stay was...The best thing about our stay was the wonderful gardens and swimming pools.

Brilliant Family Holiday.
Rachel , Isle of Man
Lovely clean hotel. We had a family room, and it was a good size. All the staff were very helpful. The food was excellent. The hotel is nice and quiet, but close to lots of Tenerife's attractions.
The best thing about my stay was...Relaxing family friendly hotel.

Great holiday choice
The Bennions, Shropshire
Have visited this hotel 6 times in last three years and still enjoyed our stay. We knew what to expect and were not disappointed with anything apart from having to queu for the restaurant at every meal. The staff were rushed off their feet and couldn't cope with the demand for clean tables. Not sure if we will return again - might be time to try somewhere else
The best thing about my stay was...Very clean/spacious rooms, lovely pool area

Melia Jardines Del Teide

Loved this hotel. Food was great. Spent two weeks there and had no complaints. However, would have preferred some decent table linen as the dark plastic cloths were very drab and not all that hygienic. Also, as we are both the wrong side of sixty, we found the location was not good.
The best thing about my stay was...The cleanliness and spaciousness.

Good location and views.
Margaret O'Shea, ireland
when I booked the description of the hotel on your web site as double sea view got me a room with no balcony and a window above eye level with a sea view. I was forced to update to the only other room left in the hotel - a junior suite which was brilliant. . Intrigued by the brown plastic table cloths in the dining room which were wiped down between clients with the crumbs swept to the floor. Great choice of salads - could do with more potatoes and veg.
The best thing about my stay was...situation of the hotel and the view.

I just arrived back from this hotel yesterday,it was fantastic, the food was great, the hotel was spotless,it is rated as a four star but I would give it five stars, the staff were very helpfull and couldn't do enough for us. The hotel is situated in a lovely area of Tenerife, but you have to go up a hill to get to it,so wouldn't advise anyone who is not mobile, there is a courtesy bus,but stop at lunch time, and last bus back up is at six o'clock from beach, apart from that I had a lovely time and put on some weight with all the yummy food! If I decide to go back to Tenerife I will book this hotel again

Great hotel, lovely pools, good variety of food for an all inclusive
We stayed here for a week from 22nd June, the hotel was really nice. The room was spacious - had fridge etc, nice balcony, only problem was that we were right beneath the dining room which meant that gfrom 7.30am chairs and tables were being scraped around above us...very noisy. We did eventually ask for a room change which they arranged for the next day, the room was much quieter and equally as good as the first. The food was good, great salads, fruit, lots of fish and meat....not so good for veggies though I imagine...unless you just want to eat salad and chips... The swimming pools were lovely, had a bar by the bottom pool which had self service soft drinks and could get beers etc too....also served small selection of food. Lots of sun loungers too. The actual resort is not amazing, so it's good that the hotel is a bit further out, although not too far if you fancy a wander in... The hotel is very clean and I would recommend staying there...just not in a room under the restaurant!
The best thing about my stay was...Non stop food, non stop drink, friendly staff, big rooms, lovely pools.

A Great Place to stay.
Grant Sinclair, Ayr
We stayed at this all inclusive hotel for 5 days and were very pleased with our choice. The hotel was very well managed, kept very clean and tidy with attentive staff. The pools were great but we preferred the lower larger pool as the snack bar was so handy. It's not too far to walk down to the shops and seafront also. Breakfast and lunch were very good. However after one nights dinner we decided to eat out at night as we prefer a good dining experience at night and the hotel dinner felt more like a canteen. Ok for breakfast and lunch as I said but not dinner. It cost us £100 per night and believe we got money's worth just by the constant free drinks and food - let alone the accommodation. If you have kids I would recommend using this hotel also.
The best thing about my stay was...All round experience

Nice, but definitely not 4 stars hotel for sure.
We have stayed in this hotel for 7 nights. First look at the hotel wasnt good. When we got to our room we found bath tap broken, the bath itself had damages which was hidden with some paste, didnt look good at all. The hotel was clean, lovelly pool areas, restaurant big with lovelly views. The food was quiet ok, but i love salads, so i found what to eat everyday:) My hubby liked food overall. I would rate this hotel as 3 stars.
The best thing about my stay was...Pool area was excellent:)

Good location and good service. But not a clean as it could be and neither is the food
Hi, I’m Kevin and I’ve just returned from a 12 night break, at the Melia Jardine del Teide (MJDT) Here are my thoughts (positive and negative) on MJDT based on: Location, Pools, Cleanliness, Adults Only Areas, Bars-Service, Snack-Bar and Restaurant-Space/Service/Food Location (good for nearly enough everyone) Yes, it’s on a hill, yes there are a lot of stairs and yes it’s a hike to the beach. But: - All the brochures tell you MJDT is on a hill and a distance from the beach. - There really is no need to use the stairs as there’s lifts to all floors (except the observation deck which despite this is DEFINATELY worth a visit) - By exiting the hotel using the gate at the lowest level ( ‘-1’) you are 5 minutes walk to a large shopping centre with banks, a large supermarket and shops etc. You are also then about 10 minutes from a sandy beach - Because it’s on a hill the views are to die for, as is a welcoming cooling breeze! Pools (OK for families with kids, not good if you want space and some peace and quiet) There are two pools, the smaller is on level 5 (reception floor) and the larger pool on level -1 - There’s enough sun-beds for everyone (comfy sprung at level 5 and hard plastic BUT with soft free mattresses at -1) - Lower pool:- Never a problem getting a sun-bed no matter what time you get there .... BUT! prime sites are booked by 08:00 by Brits, Spanish, Russian, Polish, Germans, etc (i.e. no one in particular) - Lower pool lifeguards (two) were top-notch. On the ball and immediately stopping dangerous activities, and I’m not just talking about the kids doing silly things - Upper pool:- Can’t comment on anything as never used it - Pools were ALWAYS very crowded by 12:00 and stayed that way for the rest of the day - No music or animation games round the lower pool ... BUT very high noise levels from the kids ... I recommend taking headphones as ear-muffs Cleanliness (A hit in our bedrooms, but otherwise lacking) This was very much hit and miss. - A Big Hit in our bedrooms, floors swept, beds made, and towels/sheets etc changed on request (see below re changing mattresses), - But, a Miss in public areas where this was below par: Most outside areas were cleaned daily, but the pool area was only washed down once during our whole stay and mucky the rest of the time - Public area toilets were cleaned at the start of the day, and not thereafter - The floor in the restaurant was noticeably greasy near the food counters and a slip hazard. Nothing happened when I reported this on one day when I slipped - DO WATCH OUT for the quality of washing of plates and cutlery ... many examples of food residues. The hotel needs to improve its quality control Nothing to do with cleanliness, but one of the mattresses in our room was very uncomfortable (dip in middle and could feel springs) ... after commenting on this at reception the mattress was changed for new one in just two hours. And, for good measure they changed the mattress on the other bed as well Adults Only Areas (Forget it) Brochures etc. indicate there’s an Adults only terrace - This is true, but it’s on the roof of level 4, which is next to the level 5 pool and is therefore NOT quiet, as may be expected - There are no other adults only areas Bars-Service (very good for 99% of the time) Drinks are available from three bars; All-day and evening at the lobby bar on level 5 (which provides day-time drinks for users of the level 5 pool), during the day at the snack bar (next to the pool) on level -1, and in the evening in the shows theatre - The range of drinks is extensive, to match the spread of clientele. International and class brands are available at a supplement. E.g. Real Baileys for 2E, Torres 10yr brandy for 1.5E and a full size bottle of Friexnet Cava for 8.5E - Good levels of staffing on the bars that work very fast, The maximum I had to wait was about 5 min wait at the busy times - with one exception. That was when the evening show finished - I saw minimal pushing-in when I went to the bar. There was culture of everyone pointing out who was next ... very nice to see ... hope this continues! Snack Bar (Ok ... Does the job pretty well) Snacks available from the Pool Bar from 11:30 to 17:00 ish - Always salads, toasties, burgers and hot dogs with a daily special. Quality is good Restaurant-Space/Service/Drinks/Food (Leaves a lot to be desired definitely NOT 4*) Just one restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner with snacks available from the Pool Bar - There’s no al a carte restaurant, which was a surprise! So only other choice is to eat out! Space/Service (2 star at best) - Very crowded with close packed tables. The hotel could not have squeezed more tables in other than by stacking them on top of each other !!! - Very VERY busy with queuing for a table at peak times - Definitely not staffed for peak load activity periods. The staff do however work very hard and were actually running around trying to keep up - Noise levels were extreme => especially because of the number of kids .. 1 or more at most tables Restaurant Drinks (4 star) - Drinks are pretty good, with the All Inc. house wine in bottles. And a good very reasonably priced wine list if you wanted something more special. As mentioned before Friexnet is 8.5E Food (Breakfasts - 4*, Lunch/Dinner 2* on most days with 4* on rare good days) - Breakfasts were a range of cereals, fruit, cold meats/cheese, cooked breakfast etc. - At lunch and dinner look out for the soups... these were very good and the saving grace - The food choice for young kids was very good at all of the meals - Most of the lunch/dinner foods a were however shallow or deep fried - “Fish, Fish glorious Fish” tells the story for most of our lunches and dinners. You really do have to be a non-meat eating fish fanatic to like the menus, as there was frequently only one meat or poultry dish available in addition to the display cooking - And, the only potatoes available on (other than three occasions) were chips! - And, fresh (rather than fried or battered) vegetables were a rare event with two days where there were none Did I say anything to the Hotel about the restaurant food Yes.... I spoke to the Chef, Restaurant Manager and the Hotel Manager (and I wasn’t the only one to do so) - Did they listen – yes - The Chef explained that the reason for fish, fish and more fish was that it was cheap (???) - The Restaurant Manager apologised for the crowded restaurant and the poor service and explained that this was because; just started the peak season, had new staff - The Hotel Manager also apologised/listened. And there was a change to the menus in that there were more meat dishes in the second half of our holiday .... But this looked to be reverting to the old basis as time went by (not good!) To sum up - Great location - but very noisy everywhere, - Food leaves much to be desired - please do complain, things will only improve if you do - Staff are nice, friendly and very much run off their feet - do be patient and show appreciation .... One comment here. I gave regular tips during the holiday and on our last night I gave a tip of 2 Euro for service (at about 22:00) and discovered that that this was the first tip of the night. - Would I go this hotel again.... No - Would I recommend it to a family with young children ..... Yes Hope you find the above useful

BRILL HOLIDAY! YET AGAIN!
marion robertson, lanark
We have stayed 5 times at this hotel and will go back again. The location is fantastic away from all the bizz but not too far to walk or bus anywhere. The staff are so friendly, rooms great size, food really good. There is always something we like, sometimes too much choice. The only negative thing we would say is the staff are sometimes a bit under pressure as there is not enough staff. That is the only problem but as i said. WE WILL BE BACK!
The best thing about my stay was...don't know - so many

Not what we expected at all!!
We have just returned from our holiday in tenerife. The reception service is slow, took long to check in and after a connection flight we were tired so that was bad way to start off. Unfortunately it was not at all what we expected from a four star hotel and for the money we had paid. Two times I was sick from the food in the main restaurant. The television was not a satellite tv as the channels were only in spanish and in german. Also our room was not cleaned twice and clean towels were not replaced, we had to phone to the reception to tell them, then we had to stay waiting for the maid to come and clean it. But mostly we could not tollerate the arrogant night receptionist; he could not understand and speak one word in english and instead of trying to help us he shouted at us. We can assure you that we will not be staying in this hotel next time we visit tenerife and we will never recommend it to anyone. Instead of having a pleasent stay it was one of the worst holidays we have ever had but to make it worse, it was our honeymoon!
