Had to upgrade to all inclusive...
Mick Fordham, Stevenage
Stayed room only as it was only a 5 night holiday, but had to upgrade to all inclusive at a cost of 540 euros for 2 adults and 1 child, if you're wondering why? I shall tell. Got to the room, unpacked, got changed and headed to the pool bar... ordered 3 drinks and then asked "how much por favor?" hombre replies "we don't take cash, all inclusive only, you can have these drinks but please don't ask again" I then asked where can I buy drinks and food at the hotel?" he replied with shrugged shoulders "I don't know, maybe another bar" So this is why we upgraded. Hotel is nice enough and food and snacks are good. Room was ok, small fridge in a cupboard and air-con, don't think our room ever got cleaned and the towels never got changed. Pool bar near our room sometimes didn't open in the evening, think this was due to wherever the evening entertainment was, as this is a huge complex. No vending machine on site for bottled water, so if you like the luxury of drinking water, you have to do the trek to the supermarket. Not much going on outside the hotel, Outback bar was a good laugh when they had karaoke (I have videos to prove it) and the staff very friendly..
The best thing about my stay was...Outback bar

Very disappointed on arrival. Room not ready for 3 hours, had to change in very dirty toilets with my two young children. Pool area behind reception very dirty. Other customers very disrespectful of staff and litter the place with plastic cups and cigarette butts. Room was clean on arrival, however bedding and towels only replaced every 2 days and room not cleaned the whole week. Apartment floor really needed a clean at least once during the week. Food was ok. Evening entertainment was beyond awful. The on site water park was the saving grace for this hotel. We went every day and staff there were very helpful and the area was kept much cleaner. The slides were great and fun for all ages.
The best thing about my stay was...Water park

Would definitely go back
We have just returned from a fantastic week at Marina Parc. The rooms were very clean, the pool area was constantly being cleaned/tidied by the pool/bar staff. The sunbed areas were washed down each night and the pools cleaned early every morning. There were many families with young children of which we heard no foul language, obviously they were loud to a certain degree as they were enjoying themselves, this did not disrupt our holiday. The water park is brilliant, and my 9 yr old daughter spent most of the holiday there with a few of friends she met there. Although my son is 7 yrs old he was just about tall enough to go on the tube slides, but after a day at the water park he preferred to stay by the pool. The restaurant was constantly being kept clean by the staff so there were always clean tables available to sit. The food was plentiful and was always hot no matter what time you decide to go. Drinks were literally 'on tap' served by friendly staff, we didn't feel we needed additional snacks (although they were available) as we had breakfast, lunch and dinner in the restaurant every day. The entertainment during the day was also fun whether you took part or not! the guys had us laughing non stop and never gave up trying to get you involved! The evening entertainment was also very good with staff getting everyone involved. Free wi fi at reception was always busy with people on their ipads. The commercial Centre is a 5 minute walk and has a few bars/restaurants and a fantastic play area for the children, and is open until midnight. Tennis court is available to hire which was always popular and we enjoyed a couple of hours there in the evening. We also enjoyed the train ride which takes you around the resort and stops so you can get off and take photos. I can honestly say I've had the best holiday for a long time and would definitely return to Marina Parc.
The best thing about my stay was...The all inclusive package

Was meet by manager on reception who was more than helpfull and friendly , all the staff work very hard, and the children's entertainers are fantastic( especially katty) really enjoyed our stay apart from the weather witch was poor. Thanks to all staff involved. :)

terrible family holiday
phill watts, aberdare
This is the most worse holiday I have ever taken. Reasons are we had a cot space then when we arrived the hotell wanted 3 euro a day for s cot. Y would u have cot space without a cot. There was no inside bar for the evening to sit and have a nice family time. All the kids entertainment was outside in the evening and in may it still a bit cold for that untill 2200. Due to this my 19 month old was ill with a cold after 2nd nite. I also went to reception to ask for table tennis bats but they only had 1 which was the case for the full week. So could not have a game with my kids. The pool tables are in bad condition the cues hav th tips missing. The kids park is stone dust on the ground with cat mess in it as there are a few cats on the grounds.i never once seen pool side snacks being served at the pool bar. And the sandwiches being served by the bar in reception were cheese and ham every day and thst was all. This holiday was so disappointing my whole family and we were so looking forward to this holiday. It wa an absolute waste of money and if we could have come home after 3 nigts instead of 7 we would hav. As after the first to nights we were back in our room by approx 2100 every night then.
The best thing about my stay was...beach

Hotel and rooms were clean and staisfactory though in parts it required refurbishment and in parts it seemed almost unfinished- the paving slabs outside our apartment had not been cemented down they were just left loose. Everything worked though and the pools were clean. The staff friendly and helpful. The views from the hotel are fantastic and the beach isn't too far away. The beach is excellent especially for children with water clam and shallow. The restaurants in the main resort centre are quite far to walk to with small children but we ended up cooking most nights with a supermarket close by. Hire a care and visit the rest of the island it is very beautiful with fantastic beaches.

Marina Parc hotel -
John McGarva, UK
Stayed in Marina Parc for just 3 nights in a 2 bedroom self catering apartment. Travelled with my wife and her parents. We found that the place was clean and spacious and had a nice view of the pool and the sea in the distance. Marina Parc is a very large hotel and seems to cater for a wide variety of customers. Some on package deals, some on half board etc. We booked on-line and paid GBP165 for the 3 nights for 4 people. I consider it very good value. However we made very little use of the facilities in the hotel, instead choosing to travel in a hire car to various points of interest around the island, and returning home to the hotel in the evening. The loacation in Arenal d'en Castel is a good touring base. There is a nice beach at Arenal but its quite a walk from the hotel. There is a supermarket very close by. I would have given the hotel 5 stars were it not for a screaming match in the room next door at 4am in the morning between an irate husband and wife and lasting over an hour.
