Very nice friendly people . Happy to help with anything . very quite location not recommended if you want to go to the beach as its a very long walk with a very steep long hill . Hotel needs alot of work on the rooms furniture is falling apart and its 70 euro for air con that dosent work properly .we were put next to the pool room which is very noisy all night and day .
The best thing about my stay was...nice pool and freindly family owners

A good place for a cheap budget
Simon Hofling, Örebro Sweden
I arrived with my girlfriend to Maran in 2010. We selected Maran because it was very cheap in price at that time (maybe still is?) I can't really say anything bad about this hotel. The hotel is at the top of a hill, which of course isn't always so fun but that's probably also why it is a bit cheaper, which is great when you have a tight budget. The walk down to the beach takes 20 something minutes. The staff were all friendly, there's a mini-market and a nice bar in the lobby. The pool is simple which is what you expect for this low price. We had a balcony and a nice view out towards the ocean and faliraki resort. The room was always clean and fresh, the shower is modern and everything was nice. I did not see a bug at the hotel during my entire stay. The room gets very hot in the morning, but what do you expect? This is greece after all.
The best thing about my stay was...Cheap price, friendly staff

Very simple accomodation, but the manager is to be avoided
Katja Roediger, Kaunas, Lithuania
This hotel is not in Faliraki, but more towards Kalithies Village on top of a rather steep hill. We arrived at the hotel and everything was fine. If anything the girl at the reception was overfriendly and very fast. The room was simple and a litte claustrophobic, but had everything you would need. You only get one cooking field and the cuttlery and plates are only two each. The shower is handheld and the hot water had a funny smell to it. we had a lovely sea view which meant that we had to put up with the roadnoise. The room doors have windows which makes it rather difficult to sleep, if you like it dark as the light comes in from the corridor. The pool area was dated, but ok and there was always some shade under the big trees which I found rather nice. In all I would recommend the hotel, if it would not be for the manager. We decided to buy our food in Lidl as it was much cheaper then all the other stores. The hotel shop is cheap compared to the once in Faliraki, but Lidl was even twice cheaper. The manager saw us bringing in the food and when we returned the next day to our room the light was left on and the fridge unplugged. I was accussed three times that it was me until I had enough and got so angry that I could not talk reasonable anymore. My partner tried his luck and the manager tried to convince us it might have been the cleaner with the hoover and offered to replace all food. It's safe to say that in one week there and seeing how the cleaners work that there was and is NO hoover. We decided to replace the food ourselves and two days later we found our fridge not working again just for this time to see that somebody reduced the temperature. We tried all ways, but there was no way this happened by accident. We avoided the manager ( a lady in her fifties with red wavy hair) for the rest of the holiday. So all in all a good basic hotel, but the manager seems to have a problem. I would not recommend arguing with her as she immediately gets irrated and does not understand English anymore. :(
