Alpharooms' guide to £1 hotel and transfer deposits


How does it work?

On selected hotel bookings over £100 we are only asking for a £1 payment to secure your booking at today's prices. You will receive full confirmation of your booking as soon as the £1 payment has been processed. The remainder of the balance will be taken based on the payments plan you choose as follows:

Flexible payments plan

The remainder of the 20% deposit will be taken 28 days later. The full payment on the balance of your hotel booking will be due 8 weeks before you travel. It really is a fantastic way to make sure you get a great deal on your holiday.

Monthly payments plan

The remainder of the balance (hotel booking amount - £1) plus any applicable fees will be taken in equal monthly payments. The first instalment will be due on the 1st of the next month after your booking. The last and final monthly instalment will be due on the 1st of the month of the date 8 weeks before you travel. For example, if your travel date is, say 3rd of August, your final instalment will be due on the 1st of June, whereas if your travel date is, say 27th of August then your final instalment will be due on the 1st of July. How much will I pay today?

You will have to pay the full price of your flight, travel insurance, car hire, and airport parking if you are purchasing these at the time of booking, as well as any booking fees that may be applicable to your itinerary. Please ensure you have the funds available for this transaction to complete or you may be required to pay a late payment charge. To pay off the outstanding deposit balance, you can do so from the 'My Account' area of the website. Please note each payment will incur an admin fee of £4.95

Monthly payments plan

For our monthly payments plan, the first monthly instalment will serve as the initial deposit balance, which will be due on the 1st of the month after the booking has been processed. Your payment method will be securely stored by our payment provider and, if the balance has not already been paid off by the due date, we will attempt to automatically process a payment for each of the monthly instalments on the 1st of every month after your booking date along with any applicable payment fees. Please ensure you have the funds available for these transactions to complete or your booking may be cancelled and any cancellation charges will be applicable. To pay off the outstanding monthly instalments, you can do so from the 'My Account' area of the website. Please note each payment will incur an admin fee of £2.95


When will I be expected to pay the balance of the booking?

Will I be affected by price changes?

No. When you pay your £1 deposit you are securing your booking at that price, any changes will not have an effect on your final balance.

You can cancel your booking as per our Agency Terms of Business.
