The Wheeldon's, Whitby, North Yorkshire
Lovely comfortable hotel in a quiet street just 200 meters from the bustling Leidse Plein square and just around the corner from a beautiful park. Quiet, friendly staff, particularly the Scottish lady in the breakfast room. Breakfast was basic continental but very nice and never struggled to find a table and never needed to que. Bed was very comfortable and was made every day, Everywhere was clean and tidy
The best thing about my stay was...The proximity to the town

Our stay at Leidse Square Hotel
Kevin Coakley, London
The Hotel's well situated in a leafy square off the main road amongst some attractive buildings close to museums, coffee shops and ethnic restaurants. We got a brusque welcome from a receptionist who we later noticed being spectacularly rude to a visibly startled Oriental couple with limited English. We had a spacious room with large windows which opened on to a lovely view of the square. Comfy beds, good bathroom facilities, cleaning to a very high standard as well as an intimate very reasonably priced hotel bar impressed. The breakfast at 7.50 euro -if you book in advance -is quite good value with an impressive range of cold meats and breads but I'd suggest giving the cooked part the bacon and scrambled egg a miss. Overall with some minor reservations apart we'd return albeit with a thicker skin should we happen upon our Fawlteyesque receptionist.
The best thing about my stay was...Quite beautiful and very convenient location

good location but only 2 star in places
Kirsty Scott, Ballyclare
just came back from a 2 day stay in this hotel with my husband, we found the hotel easy to get to, we took the tram but that was the only time we used it as we were not as far away from the centre as we thought we would be. from the tram stop walk past the Marriotte hotel first left and the hotel is just round the corner in a very quiet street. i booked a double superior and reqested no higher than 1st or 2nd floor but when we arrived after 6.00pm we were given room 402 on the top floor, when i pionted out i had asked for a lower floor she told us that is was quiet room overlooking the back of the hotel we went to look at the room, after a trek up 4 flight of stairs (don't like lifts) we went in to a grotty room (only 2 star standed with air con) over looking some gardens so we went back to ask for another room and to point out that my request was on the front booking voucher that i had given her. after some comments about having to move other people who had not arrived yet she asked if we would take a room with out air con on the ground floor which we did, what a differance, a nice modern room at the side of the hotel (lookin over at the Owl hotel) and even though it is on the street we found it very quiet and peacefull and the bed was very comfortable and the room was cleaned well the second day so it made up for what could have a bad trip. we did not eat in the hotel so can't recomend the food, the hotel areas could do with modernisation but were clean. the hotel is in a nice area close to every thing and would stay in this area again but maybe not this hotel as i get the impression that we were being fobed of at the start and that as we were later arriving we were given a room that was left over, next time will phone to see if they have our request. on the whole not bad, good location but there is a big difference in the rooms and the superior room we were offered first was a joke and only was payin extra for air con, the standard room we had was far superior.

Pleasant stay would go back
Charles Law, Scotland
Pros A pleasant and clean hotel that is well situated for restaurants and bars. Good tram links nearby and its right beside the Vondelpark. Breakfast is good for the price. Cons Our room was the first room at top of the stairs and where the lift exited which made the room quite noisy with people coming and going all night.
The best thing about my stay was...Location

Stayed for 2 nights and couldn't fault anything. We arrived 5 hours before check-in but the hotel stored our luggage at no extra cost. Rooms well equiped and clean. Breakfast was buffet style and plenty to choose from. Didn't use the bar but it looked well stocked. Would recommend to friends and family

Cracking little hotel
Glen Cousner, Northampton
Easy to get to whilst being away from the noise of the Damrak area. Clean, tidy, friendly and helpful staff. Very comfortable bed and a decent breakfast...although continental breakfasts with greasy streaky bacon are never quite the same as back home! I will stay here again... great value!
The best thing about my stay was...The comfy bed...

Great Hotel, Excellent location!
THIS HOTEL WAS IDEALLY LOCATED FOR ALL TRANSPORT LINKS ON A QUIET STREET AND ONLY 3 MINUTE WALK FROM THE LIVELY LEIDSE SQUARE. ONLY A TEN MINUTE WALK TO THE MUSEUM QUARTER. THE HOTEL STAFF WERE VERY HELPFUL. THE TRIPLE ROOM WE STAYED IN WAS A GOOD SIZE AND VERY CLEAN. BUFFET BREAKFAST HAD A GREAT VARIETY TO CHOOSE FROM. I WOULD DEFINITELY STAY HERE AGAIN IF RETURNING TO AMSTERDAM.
The best thing about my stay was...The location
