Lovely hotel in great location
Michael & Mary, Tipperary, Ireland, Ireland
It is not often that when reviewing a hotel I find that I have absolutely nothing negative to say about it. However, that is the case regarding our stay at Le Meridian. This was my second visit. I had very much enjoyed my first visit and the room was lovely. I asked to be allocated the same room for my second visit and this request was granted without any difficulty. It was a superior room and was quite spacious. It was clean and comfortable and nice and quiet. Breakfast was very good with an array of food to suit all tastes. The staff were friendly and helpful. Usually you come into contact with a member of staff who is less than helpful but not in Le Meridien. The only problem I had initially was making contact with Le Meridian by e-mail. When I didn't receive a response, I phoned the hotel and they explained that their e-mail system had been down and if I re-sent the e-mail they would respond. I received a response straight away.
The best thing about my stay was...Friendly staff, nice room and good food.

Location and cleanliness of room was paramount.
Marianl , UK
The locations was excellent. Although I would not consider this a 5* hotel by many standards, the room was extremely spacious, comfortable and clean with an extra large bed and large balcony overlooking Balluta Bay. The staff could not do enough to help. Any requests for extra pillows, towels etc were delivered immediately. Never any need to remind them. I would like to add that the staff in the bar/restaurant area were fantastic during "Happy hour" or at any other time. So very helpful, cheerful when under pressure, so my thanks to them. During my weeks visit I also found the staff in the breakfast restaurant to be excellent. Nothing was too much trouble, therefore I looked forward to a nice leisurely breakfast. It is my second visit to this hotel, I was there in 2012. Definitely much improved. I will add, that as I know Malta well, the plumbing was excellent and the shower very powerful. This might not seem an obvious point, but in Malta it is. So well done Le Meridien. On this occasion I was unable to use the Spa. However, on my last visit I did. Very good. Roof Pool is perfectly adequate for such a small Island. However, the sea is just across the road. I will definitely be returning. I returned with a large Mdina vase bought from the Hotel shop on the lower ground floor, my special thanks to Jenefer who held it in the shop for me and packed it in my hand luggage the night before departure. It arrived back, in spite of flying Ryanair, in one piece and is admired by all who visit my home.
The best thing about my stay was...Location, room, view and staff.

Very good hotel in excellent location
Clive, Suffolk, England
The rooms are spacious with large balconies (ours had good sea views) and good bathroom but awkward separate toilet. In our room some of the large floor tiles were loose. The breakfast buffet is excellent and the staff throughout the hotel are friendly and efficient. Pool area on roof is adequate but not amazing. The sea across the busy road has no exposed beach but is sandy and used by some for swimming. Many different levels of restaurants within easy walking distance and excellent remarkably cheap bus service.
The best thing about my stay was...Spacious comfortable rooms and excellent breakfast.

Cannot wait to return to Le Meridien
Frequent visitor to Malta, Cheshire U.K.
We stayed at the hotel the first week in April 2014 and the location was extremely convenient. As a frequent visitor to Malta we always hire a car and there was a large secure car park outside the main reception which was free for hotel guests to use. Hotel staff without exception were extremely friendly and willing to go the extra mile to be of assistance. The hotel facilities were of a very high standard and our superior room was extremely clean. As our visit was a birthday treat we invited family members resident in Malta to join our celebration and the hotel staff arranged an area of the bar for our private use. The party food was of a high standard and very good value for money. Overall we had an excellent time at Le Meridien, would certainly recommend the hotel and intend to return for another stay. The only negative aspect was the refurbishment of the lifts which resulted in some delay to guests at peak times however staff made us aware of the issue and as a gesture of goodwill all guests were offered access to free Wi Fi
The best thing about my stay was...The hight standard of hotel facilities and the friendliness and efficiency of hotel staff

Staff all very helpful, efficient and friendly
anonymous traveller, WALES
Nice hotel in a good position to explore Sliema and Valetta. Breakfast excellent and roof top pool nice although the bar by the pool had music going all day. The executive suite did not look worth the additional money as it only had a tiny terrace. Hotel although 5* rated is not in the same league as the Westin or Hilton but then it was considerably less expensive.
The best thing about my stay was...Room with seaview, the locals who are all friendly

brilliant hotel. staff very helpful and polite. will return to hotel and recommend it to friends and family
Pedro Kika, Kent
service was excellent upgraded to executive, the room was one of the best ever stayed in. clean with sea view. everything about the room was brilliant only problem was that the air conditioner did not work but the sent an engineer to try and fix it as soon we told them about it. could not be fixed, so we asked for a fan and got one immediately.
The best thing about my stay was...everything was perfect, the breakfast and dinner

Great Hotel, excellent location
Had a week here in November B&B. Breakfast was good with a wide choice. Eggs cooked as required every day. Had the evening buffet twice and wasn't impressed either time, the theme changes daily. We went on Italian and Tex Mex nights. Ku De Ta bar is good and has happy hour from 18.00 till 19.30 daily. Meals can also be ordered and eaten here, we ate here one night and the meal was good. The area is great with lots of bars and restaurants around. I recommend the Peperoncino and the Piccolo Padre, good food at reasonable prices. Recommend the higher floors and sea view, rooms at other side of hotel, where the main entrance is are of a car park and other buildings. Good spa with pool which is free, there are other treatment available at a steep cost. There is a pool on the roof but we didn't use this and the bar up there was closed for the winter.
The best thing about my stay was...Very good week's vacation at this hotel

Relaxing break with great breakfast!

Very good customer service. Comfortable, clean rooms. Great view from sea view rooms making breakfast with everything, best rates on alpha rooms which made a reasonable price for the quality of the hotel. Spa was pure relaxation:-)
The best thing about my stay was...The relaxing spa

A lovely hotel, not exceptional, but very nice. Pleasant public areas and bedrooms made this a very enjoyable stay, and with the alpharooms rate including breakfast, very excellent value for money. Close to all the amenities of St Julians, without being on top of them.

NICE HOTEL BUT NOT TRUE 5 STAR!!!
PAUL OWENS, DUBLIN
Just back from a week in Le Meridean....my opinion is the following...good things about the hotel is the location primarily, bus stop right outside, walk to sliema etc, cant go wrong. The price was good as well so its very difficult to moan if the price was good...its not 5 star it cant be at those prices and that was evident by the following....the lobby decor is in need of something, its not great. The room was just ok...twin beds to join together..mmmm.The lifts can be very slow especially during busy periods and i mean slow...The breakfast during busy periods was manic for 2 days but it was very pleasant from jan 2 on and the breakfast was quiet good but during the busy times it was crazy..in fact the hotel could not cope running out of a lot of stuff etc....I Tried to get a drink at the bar at 12 midnight on jan 6 at everything was closed and told to go outside if i wanted to get a beer or minibar..not really 5 star stuff is it!!!,but hard to complain when the price is good.So i have been to malta 3 times and its the usual thing...get a nice hotel in a good location at a good price..they are not 5 star hotels like for example you would see in Kerry in Ireland but in Kerry you get robbed..so its its trying to get the balance right. They really should not be given 5 star status just 4.Still for most normal people its an ok hotel,if your a snob go somewhere else.

Amazing hotel - caters for everything
One of the nicest hotels i've stayed in - particularly the pool, gym and spa facilities. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Even got Christmas cake delivered to our room on Christmas Eve which was a nice touch. If there were any 'bothers' - such as our room being hot - the staff were quick to remedy as best they could. Location excellent in between several attractive areas. Altogether a great holiday thanks to the cheap AlphaRooms deal.
The best thing about my stay was...Got engaged!

Mirella, Pescara (Italy)
At the entrance we were disappointed as the hotel does not appear a five-star hotel and even Le Meridien hotel chain; it is a good four star hotel, ideally located, close to restaurants Barracuda and Piccolo Padre. The bus stop to La Valletta and Sliema is located 100m in front of the church, while you go back to the front of the hotel and near a bistro where you can drink a good Italian espresso. The reception is on the third floor, but there is a direct access to the waterfront to the ground floor where there is a souvenir shop with prices equal to or lower than the shops in Sliema and La Valletta. Poor attention to details: there is no porter or at least I have not seen anyone who has offered this service, there are no maps of the city, I had to ask the slippers. A deposit of 150 € is required as guarantee. The standard twin room on the eighth floor is spacious, with tile floor as requested, a balcony overlooking the parking car, bathroom with sink, tub and shower, without bidet, wc is separeted. The TV is old model but has satellite channels including Italian ones. Daily two complimentary bottles of water. The mini bar prices are reasonable but the room service charge for a camomile it seemed excessive. The furniture of the room is basic, nothing luxurious. The breakfast buffet is plentiful and varied but poorly suited to the tastes of Italians and poor quality for a hotel rated 5 stars, with some expired yogurt, bananas failed, tea bags of unknown brand. The best thing is the hotel's spa with a small heated pool and a jacuzzi for 4 people with warmer water, very nice. The entrance and the towels are free, massages and treatments are extra. The staff is very friendly and helpful. In short, a four star hotel with good value for money to spend four days in Malta.
The best thing about my stay was...Heated pool and Jacuzzi

What a great hotel...no hesitation in recommending it
Alison Johnson, Inverness
Lovely hotel, a good 5 star by British standards (rather than European), relaxing spa and well kitted out gym area, large bedrooms modern, clean and airy with classy bathroom and all the mod cons. Great service not intrusive but very efficient staff. Bar pricey but take advantage of the special deals and happy hour in the evening and all can be happy.
The best thing about my stay was...The relaxing spa leaves you feeling refreshed and calm....
