In desperate need of refurbishment

, Bognor Regis

We stayed here for four nights in October 2015. The apartment was clean and had all we needed for a short stay. However, it was very dark and depressing inside and in desperate need of refurbishment. For example, the doors and shutters to the lounge had to be 'jiggled' to open and then lock again as the hinges had dropped/wood was swollen, the outside of the fridge was badly rusted and the surface of the bath was very badly worn and discoloured. Other reviews I've seen have commented about the trees on site making the whole area dark, which I agree with. On the plus side reception was very helpful and friendly, and the on-site supermarket - Julia's - was well stocked and reasonably priced. Although in a quiet location it is very close to restaurants etc and the bus stop for Mao is a couple of minutes walk away. We stayed in four other apartments during this holiday and this was the only one we would not return to.

The best thing about my stay was ...

Central location.

Great Value for Money

After paying £148 for 2 weeks holiday with flights staying at Las Brisas, we decided not let our expectations get too high. How wrong we were - the apartments are set in lovely grounds with plenty of established trees dotted around giving shade. Inside, although basic and a little tired round the edges, the rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful and there when needed. It was a short pleasant walk to the marina where there are plenty of bars and restaurants, quite a few do a menu of the day for around 12-15 euros for a 3 course meal and in some cases included a bottle of wine.

The best thing about my stay was ...

The peaceful setting and large pool

Arrived with family of 5 (2 Adults, 2 Children, and 1 16month old) upon arrival looked very nice from the outside. We met the receptionist who took a few details for the checking in then said "rooms are open, keys on table and if you need me theres a mobile number in there" Then shut the reception? we arrived at 15:00??? We found our apartments and was shocked of 1st impressions on how dated and dirty the rooms were. There were dirt up every wall and floor, there were holes in the front doors, all of the bath were chipped and paint were hanging from it. Mould around the bath and shower screen. There were no double beds just 2 singles pushed together. Beds were really uncomfortable you could feel every spring and any movement on them you would wake the whole house with creaking. We found a plug socked hanging off the walls in the childrens bedrooms which i tried to push back the wall but ended up blowing main fuse in the apartment. 1 out of 2 electric hobs did not work. Microwave was disgusting inside. No kettle or toaster provided. My wife spent a fortune on cleaning products in the end! No fans or ir conditioning provided in the rooms so was very hot and humid on the evenings. 3 days past and we had to argue with the receptionist for more towels and even get our room clean but apparently we did not pay extra for this service?! bed sheets got changed after a week which were replaced with more dirty sheets. We had no hot water for 48 hours as our room boiler had packed in. They finally replaced it but when using the water a lous "screamimg" noise came from the boiler. The apartments ruined our 1st Family holiday abroad

The best thing about my stay was ...

Close to marina which holds alot or bars, pubs and restaurants, close to beach

This was basic clean accomodation in a great location for the 2 beaches and lovely marina. Our room DID have a kettle and toaster and the only extra we paid for was the safe. Very nice staff. Big selection of restaurants at the marina and there was a nice plac for lunch on both beaches. Sun lounger hire on the beach was six euros each, blimey! Would defo go back again. I paid £65 for a 2 bedroom apartment for 4 nights!!!!!

The best thing about my stay was ...

Near to beach and marina and the accomodation was safe and clean

Very basic appartments

, Edinburgh

Las Brisas was very basic but as it was very cheap, you get what you pay for. The rooms were reasonably clean but the living room light was hanging off the ceiling. There was no electric kettle but instead, was the sort of kettle you would use for camping. Took about 20 mins to boil on the 2 ring cooker. There was a TV in the room but only Spanish channels were available. Also had to hire a toaster. The beds were never changed while we were there although they were very comfortable. The on site cafe was closed. Nice pool but we only got to it once due to the heavy rain every day! The receptionist was very friendly and helpful.

The best thing about my stay was ...

Probably the short distance to the beach and the marina.

Cheap and Cheerful

, Halifax

Bargain price, didn't expect much in terms of luxury. These apartments are fab for a little getaway for a couple who like to get out & about and just view their place as somewhere basic and clean - perfect for me as i spend a lot of time away from the resort walking and going to the beach. Nothing fancy you get what you p for! Which is what i wanted from my holiday this time - a cheap getaway! I found absolute peace and tranquility on a beautiful beach within a 2 min walk. The most stunning beach with white sands and crystal clear water. There is a small supermarket & gift shop based on site at Las Brisas apartments and a bus stop nearby to take you in to town. The pool area is small and a time spent by families with children - not a problem its nice to hear kids having fun but dont expect to be able to nod off & relax. House keeping was only twice in the week and reception was unmanned most of the time, there were no information cards in the room so didnt know what to expect for linen changing. If you can take a spare towel in your luggage do so! All in all a great find in a good location.

The best thing about my stay was ...

cheap and cheerful

, barnsley

we have recently returned from the las brisas apartments, and had a great time the rooms are clean and tidy and well maintained, they are also well located and not far from the two beaches in the resort. the pool was a decent size and was cleaned every day. there was a supermarket on site of which we thought the prices were reasonable, you could purchase fresh sandwiches and hot food. I would recommend these apartments as good value for money and would use them again myself

The best thing about my stay was ...

location of apartments and the resort itself

Great location - great value for money

, Leicestershire

For a cheap and cheerful break the apartments were spot on, clean and basic. Great location, can walk to three beaches within 5-7 minutes and of course the marina is just a brief walk with lots of good restauants. If you want plush this is not for you, but if you want a place to lay your head you would not be disappointed.

The best thing about my stay was ...

location and close proximity to amenities

Never Ever Again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

, Belfast

As a family of 5, we stayed the last 3 nights of a 14 night holiday in Las Brisas. Having travelled to Spain for over 20 years, I can honestly say that I have never stayed in worse accommodation. The apartments were filthy, badly run down and basically inhabitable. We couldn't wait to get out of this apartment. When we asked to be moved the lady at reception told us all of the Las Brisas apartments were the same. The bath and toilet had shocking stains. There was a broken tile in the middle of the bathroom, which had to have a towel constantly placed over it to stop the children cutting their feet. The beds were akin to sleeping on concrete slabs. The smell was unbearable. I want to let anyone who is even remotely thinking of booking this place to think again. We paid close to £130 per night, and genuinely thought we would be getting a reasonable standard of accommodation. How wrong we were. I spent the whole time we were in this apartment trying to move to every other accommodation and hotel in Calan Bosch. Unfortunately it was August and everywhere was totally booked. Please don't make the same mistake we made. Never Ever Again!!!!!!!!!

Very clean and polite and courteous staff. Good location in between main resort of Cala n Bosch and smaller Xon Soriguer. Accomodation is basic and you must hire toaster, kettle, TV etc. but for what we paid we were more than happy. Would recommend.

The best thing about my stay was ...

Lovely weather and laid back family feel of resort.

Apartamentos Las Brisas

, Newcastle

Really enjoyed our stay at these apartments. After a minor problem when we first arrived with a few of the lights in our room, everything ran smoothly. The room was basic but had everything we needed. The receptionist was brilliant and did anything for you. The pool area was quite big and you could always get a sunbed. The on site bar had plenty of seating available. The marina is a 5 minute walk from Las Brisas and there are restaurants, bars and shops, all of high quality all the way round. It's really lovely. Overall a great holiday and would definitely go back.

Las Brisas summer -08

Las Brisas was exactly what we expected; nice, quiet apartments with nice staff. We had 2 bedroom apartment with view to the Mediterrian Sea. Lot of families from UK and Netherlands at the hotel. Good restaurant. Just a short walk to both main beaches in Cala'n Bosch.

Thankyou Las Brisas for a sucessful holiday.

Great little hotel for the money. Decor was dated but clean. Stayed in a two bed apartment and loved it. Only minor problem was a lack of space to unpack. Hotel is in four blocks surrounding the pool and small wooded area.

Certainly thought it was good value and would recommend to those on a budget. Lovely little cuban bar with a good play area. Trampolines, inflatable etc. Very handy on an evening.

Our stay at Las Brisas was extremely enjoyable.  The apartments are very basic, but adequate for our needs (we prefer self catering rather than half board).  There was a large fan on the ceiling in the bedroom to keep you cool at night but if you wanted additional fans these could be hired at reception. Our apartment was very clean, the only minor problem for us was the occasional invasion of ants which could easily be rectified by spraying with a can of ant killer from the very nearby supermarket (with gift shop next door), which was only a two minute walk from our apartment - very handy!  We found that even though Son Xoriguer beach is very nice we tended to go to Calan' Bosch which we thought was a bit closer, took less than 10 minutes to walk to and has an excellent beach bar restaurant (my husband and I have been going there for five years so we can highly recommend it).

I must add that we couldn't fault the receptionist at all, she was extremely polite and helpful from the moment we arrived at Las Brisas.  It's not a 24 hour reception but, if you needed any information from them, nothing was too much trouble.

Finally, we have stayed at quite a few hotels in Calan Bosch over the last five years and I must say that we really liked this one so much that we're going to book there again next year if we can.  If you ever stayed at the Valentin Star Hotel, around the Marina, before it was re-developed, then you'll like Las Brisas too!
