10/10 Amazing

Great holiday!

Really fantastic value for money. The food was great - plenty of variety and perfectly cooked - especially the vegetables! Compliments to the chef! The view from the balcony was beautiful - it was like living on the beach! The staff were ALL very friendly and helpful and added to the lovely atmosphere of this hotel. This was my first visit to the hotel ...and it definitely won't be my last! Thanks Royal Beach for a great holiday.

The best thing about my stay was...

Being so close to the beach and the lovely food!

Good Value

This was my second visit to the Royal Beach in Sousse and the food has definitely improved since last time. It must be remembered that this is a small family run establishment and you will not get the amenities which one might expect in from some of the larger chains but it was certainly more than adequate. My room (130) was not very big but had a sea view and a small balcony and the bed was extremely comfortable (the first time I have had a double bed in Tunisia). The wardrobe space was rather limited, being divided into half hanging space and a single shelf in the other half, with no drawers but that didn't really pose a problem. Apart from the dressing table, one chair and a TV on the wall there was no other furniture but you only use the room to sleep in. There are two small pools, one indoors and one out, but as the sea is just through the gates not many peoplel used the pools. They seem to have got a new chef since last year and there is more variety with the food, though she still can't cook proper mashed potatoes as it was more of a puree! I usually stuck with the beef, which was superb and very tender. As a Brit a decent cup of tea at breakfast is my one essential and it was excellent, unlike in many of the hotels in Tunisia. There were plenty of cakes for dessert, as well as big bowls of strawberries and oranges on several days. Entertainment leaves something to be desired as there are only two young lads, who are lovely boys and excellent dancers and do their best but their range is limited. They are fantastic with the children who all adore them. Without exception the staff are great and always happy to help with any problems. There was quite a mix of nationalities, including a considerable number of Danes as they have a contract with a Danish tour operator. One small niggle was that by about 11 p.m. not only had the entertainment stopped but most people had either gone to bed or disappeared to more lively venues so people seemed disinclined to sit around chatting. All in all I would have no hesitation in returning to this hotel if the price was right and may indeed go back later in the year.
