Had a great time this year. Not visited for 6 years and a lot of improvements had been made. Young children were entertained, but the "Animacion" team have lost their way with teens. Great night time entertainment for adults was a big improvement. Prior to the long gap we had been 6 times before. Food is of a good standard, but as expected set weekly, so a two week stay you see a repeat menu. The food could have been hotter as in temp not spice. Although not a massive drinker, it makes good sense to go all inclusive on the whole, fantastic holiday. The worst thing about this holiday was the transfers. Landed at 12:25, we were on the transfer bus 13:40, but did not arrive at the Hotel until 17:25pm. The return was just as bad, our flight was 07:25, but our pickup was at 02:15am effectively we lost an entire day of our holiday. We have vowed NEVER to use the Alpharooms transfer service again. I understand that they don't operate the service themselves, but after reading the reviews we called Alpharooms and was told the bad reviews were just hype in the main. Use this hotel definitely, but get a cab to do the actual 45 minute journey, don't be tempted to use the transfer service from Alpharooms. Average car hire was 41 Euros per day, having said this, not sure if you can get a car hire firm that will collect the car from the hotel, so cab is the best bet. Come on Alpharooms, sort this mess out! To finish on a high the Samoa staff were fantastic and they went out of their way for you.
The best thing about my stay was...Staff and location

Staff great , hotel clean , beer good , foot got a bit repetitive as wk went on but it's hard for a hotel to cater for every different nationality, the manners of some guests was terrible, no one seems to say thank you any more when you hold a door open and a lot of people jump the bar queue , one night I was walking from the bar with a coffee and a man walked right into me, no apology or anything , went all over me , he just carried on, n then proceeded to laugh at me with his wife at the lift , talking of lifts , they take a while to come back down , so keep fit by using the stairs
The best thing about my stay was...Staff bar and facilities

a straight honest review about this hotel, the entertainment staff worked no end to keep the boredom at bay, games to keep both children and adults entertained throughout the day, archery, darts, pool ect, on to the food, pretty decent for a 3 star, always something for everyone, salads, cooked meats, desserts ect, infact the breakfast was better than most 4 star hotels i have been in, the english pork sausages are to die for. the rooms are basic but cleaned every day, the hotel i would give a full 10 for cleanliness, there was only one bar open, but the staff coped well, you can be assured that the other bars will be opened come the high season, some people have written reviews about screaming and unruly kids, you have to remember this is a family hotel so it will always happen, although some parents as always let thier siblings off the leash and think its ok for them to climb up walls , the management do need to address this and tighten up for safety reasons, as for the area, not much i can say really, it looked like some 20 years ago, the place was just about to flourish, and then came the reccession, and stopped it in its tracks, a small miriad of tourist shops average bars and thats it, we like walking , and noticed a derelict hotel up the next street, there is a nice beach on your doorstep, i wouldnt really say that this is an area for people with walking difficulties, all in all, nice break, would i revisit this hotel again, the answer is yes, but i wouldnt rush back thier for the area, i have a feeling that this hotel will be working its way on to becoming a 4 star, as the hotel company who have just purchased it, have a portfolio of really good 4 star hotels, and it was evident while we were there that changed were taking place.
The best thing about my stay was...food, entertainment , friendly staff.
