I spent 9 days on the hotel and everything was good except the swimming pool that doesn’t got a heated system so the kids was upset cause they couldn’t swim.

Satisfied

On arrival, the staff could not find my reservation, but after about half an hour or so, they found it (phew!) Nice sized room with a small balcony. Food was ok-nothing spectacular. WIFI was sporadic. Pool was very cold, but just what you needed in August! Plenty of sunbeds. Supermarket is close by. Taxis outside the gate.

Value with development areas

Hello, In this instance if the guests of this hotel are being honest it is good value for money, albeit some aspects are limited which would make many doubt the four star status. The initial check in was slow since they are reliant upon a complete paper trail. The room itself was fine. However, the TV signal was poor, to the point we had to wait 20 minutes to get a visual picture. It was also apparent the flush mechanism was quite inefficient. Furthermore, whilst they had free wi fi the download time to send an e-mail with documents was painfully slow. The positives were the pool area was well maintained, the staff were relatively friendly especially the lady who booked the two tours and the people cleaning the rooms were quite prompt. The breakfast was an acquired taste heavy on bread of all types with an absence of fruit. However, it was ok. The hotel bar/nightclub was interesting with live Arabic music after 10pm. With this you will inevitably have a mixed response, however, I viewed this as a new experience. The focal frustration is possibly an oversight on the booking which did not confirm the city tax due per night which I was unaware of until I checked out and paid 429 Dirhams. Fortunately I had sufficient funds at the time, albeit I would have preferred to be pre warned of this tax. Thanks. Rik

Helpful and Friendly

We stayed at Hotel Andalous for 15 days and despite the language barrier the staff made a huge effort to remember our room number for breakfast and dinner. They were extremely polite, friendly and helpful. It was very clean and had the option of having our room cleaned everyday. The pool is great and even though it was a large hotel, there was always room by the pool, on busy days there was extra chairs. Nice distance from the old city if you do not want to be right in the hustle and bustle of the souks. Some nice places to have lunch, a small walk away and always taxis near by.

There is a problem with the food shortage, not able to supply enough food for everyone especially at breakfast when it suppose to be a4star hotel,it seems the waiters are in control of who should get the best food, even if they are late for dinner, brea

Good hotel in every way , except it need to improve it,s food supply.

The best thing about my stay was...

Good budget base but not 4 star

Went to the Hotel Andalous for 4 nights with my sister and parents. The entrance to the hotel is lovely, however the rooms really let this hotel down. Beds and bathroom were clean however the carpets were filthy and needed replacing. The maid did her best and did hoover daily, but this didn't seem to actually make any difference. The air conditioning was great, however leaked badly in my parents room - water running down the wall. Showers were good, however ours wasn't attached to the wall so was a bit tricky to use without soaking the place. Balcony was quite small and to be honest the entire room could do with an upgrade. The breakfast was fine - typical continental, however no ham or cheese-offered these on the last day - appears that you have to pay an extra charge for these. Pancakes, porridge and boiled/scrambled eggs also available. The one good bit about the hotel was it's location - 15 min walk to both the Kotoubia Mosque/Jeema el fnaa square and Gueliz. Most of the staff were friendly (took a couple of days to warm to you), however the man at the reception was downright rude when there was a problem. We left the pool (which was great) at 4.45pm and returned to our room to get ready for the evening. However, we had no towels. Had to wait over an hour for towels which meant we missed our restaurant booking. Complained to the receptionist as we were hanging about soaking from the pool but he just shrugged his shoulders and said he didn't care. One other major issue we had were the incredibly obvious prostitutes in the hotel bar. Didn't offend us - however it did offend some residents. Nightclub/restaurant downstairs was the wierdest place - went in for a drink at 11pm , wouldn't let us sit at a table - only at the bar. People having dinner with banging music - so loud you could feel the music upstairs in the main bar. Would be a really good club but odd restaurant as you couldn't have a conversation. Overall we had a great time in Marrakech, and the hotel was a good budget base, however if I would look for a better hotel next time I visit.

great hotel...quiet location

stayed a week from 27th feb 2011 and must say the hotel is great! location a little out of town but that gives you peace and quiet when needed to get out the way. 1-2 pound taxi rides get you into town so that aint too bad. we had 2 interconnecting rooms (2 doubles 2 singles) which were well looked after by house keeping. hotel is very secure with security working all hours of clock. staff are very friendly. pool was clean. very good stay for a budget hotel. free wifi was a great perk. would recommend to all and definatly be back soon! thank you el andalous you made our stay in marrakech special!
