July trip to Catalunya
Steve from Leicester, United Kingdom
The Caprici Verd is nicely positioned near to the train station at the quieter end of Santa Susana. The hotel has an excellent outdoor pool with plenty of sunbeds. The staff are very friendly and helpful, rooms are spacious, we had a 5th floor room with a sea view. The food is plentiful and tasty.
The best thing about my stay was...The outdoor pool.

Disappointing holiday. Hotel was nice but insufficient staff for an All Inclusive holiday, only one person manning the pool bar and only one person manning the two indoor bars is insufficient. The attitude of some of the staff was not appropriate, we had to report one member to the manager due to the embarrassment caused. The choice of food was again not up to the standard that I would expect for a 4*. Would not recommend
The best thing about my stay was...Nice quiet hotel

We stayed for a week B&B at the beginning of June with our 3 year old. We paid only a small amount more for a premium sea view room which had two queen size beds on the basis of other reviews and we felt this was certainly worth doing. No bath only a shower which was perfect for us but may not suit some people. We found the hotel to be spotlessly clean including all public areas and toilets and the staff to be very pleasant and helpful (with the exception of only one person). Our room was made up every day and clean towels provided as we required them. The hotel facilities were great, games room, toddlers play area, pool tables, numerous different seating areas both inside and out and the indoor heated pool was a real benefit as the outdoor pools weren't always the warmest, to be expected for the time of year. Never a problem getting sun loungers or seats in other communal areas. We did only ever see one child in the kids club but in June most children are at school so probably that was probably to be expected. The food was good, plenty of choice and although we were B&B we ate in the hotel twice at night because the variety of restaurants outside the hotel was limited mainly to burgers and pizzas with no children's menus. We felt the hotel food in the evening was good (hence we went back a second time) with a good choice of dishes including Spanish, and a range of potato and veg options (if you don't want chips!) The hotel also had a children's buffet where they could help themselves. Overall we felt our hotel was quiet (possible the time of year) and there wasn't much that we could see in the way of entertainment at night. The promenade is lined with craft stalls at night and plenty of places to have a drink. Generally I would say the food and drink prices both in the hotel and the resort generally were great value, 2.10 euros for a large glass of wine in our hotel. The mini train is a good way of sight seeing the resort and the adjoining resort of Magret del Mar appeared to be a busier resort with more shops etc. We visited the beach one day, the beach has a fairly steep trench and the waves were pretty big. I would suggest the beach is unsuitable for children and in fact I would not have ventured into the sea either. All in all we felt our hotel was a great choice for a fairly quiet holiday but with everything that we needed. We could recommend this hotel without hesitation.
The best thing about my stay was...The hotel was spotlessly clean and had very good facilities for adults and children.

Good accommodation, pity about the food
Room was very good, upgraded to premium on arrival. Wifi in room was erratic and very slow. All the food was cold, the hot plates were cold. When not so busy, food was left on display until eaten so in morning beans has formed a crust and eggs were like rubber.
The best thing about my stay was...Large comfortable beds. Close to station.

We (a family of four) stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in August 2013. The hotel is generally clean an in a good location. The beach is about 20 minutes walk as there is a railway line between the beach and the hotel. We had reserved 1 double bed and 1 Twin bed however we were given 2 double bed rooms. Once I pointed that out to reception they said there is no other room. This was frustrating and I blame ALPHA-ROOM as much as the hotel as I paid for the rooms 6 months in advance. We had half board and the food was usually under cooked or pretty average. Overall I am unable to accept the hotel rating as a 4 star as the hotel in my view is three star in comparison with several others.
The best thing about my stay was...Cleanliness - The reception was phoning me at 8 amm that the clears are coming!

July & August geared to familes only -not for couples -not 4star food
Andrew, Kinross, Perth
Premier room was excellent, large room with view towards sea. Large wall mounted T.V and fridge. Two king size beds. Entrance hall impressive and staff at desk very pleasant. Then we went for evening meal. Like dining in mess hall of an aircraft carrier. Cafe style tables and chairs , food difficult to access due to bad layout and large crush of people, mainly Eastern European. Poor quality cuts of meat mainly pork and chicken -either undercooked or overcooked, Pigs cheeks, trotters, knee and tripe. Hardly 4 star superior dining. Dress code nil and men in vests at evening meal. Go bed & breakfast if you must come here.
The best thing about my stay was...Room , position and weather

Annual break in the sun for 3 mature couples (65+)
Alan Cooper, Dunfermline
Our 5th consecutive year at this hotel on half board. We enjoy large rooms (with balcony) with 2 big beds, walk-in shower, fridge and safe. At quiet end of front but opposite train station so ideal if wanting to go to Barcelona/Airport. Quality of service and food ( all buffet) were even better this year. Plenty of sun loungers and shaded sitting areas if required. Miles of easy walking available either by beach or on paved walkways. Live music for dancing each evening. Guests mainly Spanish, Dutch or Eastern European. Very few British. This is not a resort for people who prefer to eat out in the evenings.
The best thing about my stay was...Great hotel, easy walking and still warm at this time of year.
