Easy access to the whole of Paris

, Nottingham

This was my second visit to the hotel in the past 2 years, the hotel has had a full refurbishment in the past few months making it a lot cleaner and modern looking. All staff are helpful, rooms are compact as with a majority of Parisian hotels. Breakfast is basic continental selection and buffet style but does the job. Convenient location for anyone arriving by Eurostar, or at Gare du Nord or Gare De l'est. Situated between two metro stations (Chateau D'eau and Strasbourg St Denis) Close to lots of shops, restaurants and Place de Republique also. For a budget stay this is perfect, highly recommended!

Great Hotel, Shame about the Location

, Hope Valley

Can't say enough about the friendliness of the staff, facilities, cleanliness and standard of the room, breakfast and the hotel in general. The issue I have is with the location - it is a fair way down the road from the Gare De L'Est, after the next underground stop on line 4 in fact, and, although it is right next to the famous Brady Passage - where there are masses of Indian Restaurants - it isn't the nicest area of Paris at all and my partner and I were pretty scared of walking around there at night. That said, Strasbourg-St Denis undergraound station is only 400yds away and you can get to all the famous sites on the 3 lines that run from there. All-in-all, a great hotel, but beware the location!

The best thing about my stay was ...

The Hotel itself

Good value, clean & very convenient

, Doncaster

Quirky little hotel, in a cosmopolitan area within easy walking distance of the Gare du Nord & the Gare de l'Est. Pleasant staff & good service. The room was quite small, but clean & very quiet, considering the central location. Flat screen tv, but English channel not working (but who comes to Paris to watch TV?!). All in all, a pleasant stay, extremely good value, especially for Paris.

The best thing about my stay was ...

The price!

Pleasant Memories

, Dublin

This hotel was a very basic, very clean, ideally located hotel with very helpful staff who were always willing to suggest places to go or give directions. If you're looking for a big room you wont want to stay here but what it does provide is, as mentioned above, a very clean room in a basic hotel that is literally a one minute walk from a Metro that links to the airport and anywhere else you want to go. Only negative was that the breakfast is €8 per person every day and it is nothing to shout about. Overall, we were happy with our and we would definitely stay in this hotel again.

The best thing about my stay was ...

The closeness to the Metro which opens up all of Paris for you.

Adequately Basic.....

, Glasgow/Scotland

The hotel it self was remarkably clean and well maintained. The staff on reception were extremely friendly but somewhat other-worldly as they seemed to float around customers with minimal interactions. The room was small and quaint but was exactly what we required. The en-suite facility was very mordern and practical for those who on tight schedule. On the whole the only downsides to this basic hotel were the breakfast and the location. The breakfast was extremely basic that only had a faint sense of a Parisian element to it. The breakfast area is small and often cramped. The only French touch really is a ample supply of croissants, then your faced a a un-desirable choice of instant hot chocolate (of course you have the pleasure of making it), everyday kellogg's cereals and baguettes with spreadable cheese. For the 8 euro breakfast charge I would consider other options if not pressed for time. The location of the hotel we found to be both good and very bad. The hotel is situated beside two metro stations so it is very easy to travel around paris and to find your way back. The location's main down point is that it feels like a gangster "ghetto" to put it bluntly. On two occasions my girlfriend and myself were approached by strangers asking for cigarettes, which made it a uncomfortable experience for both of us, and quite frankly left feeling rather vunerable. This hotel is most definately suited for young couples on short stays. I dont think it would be my first choice in returning to Paris but that is strictly down to the local area.

The hotel room was basic but clean and comfortable.  The reception was staffed with helpful staff 24 hours a day.  Surrounding area was very dodgy in our opinion ands we witnessed a near gang fight about a block or two away.  The description given by the hotel of being minutes walk away from the main attractions is inaccurate.  It was roughly 45 minutes walk to the louvre museum.  On the plus side there are plenty bars and restaurants on the rue st denis which isn't far away and you are right on a metro line.  I wouldn't stay there again, not down to the hotel but down to the local area...

We were very impressed with the welcome we recieved after a night of travelling. The staff were all very helpful, polite and friendly with good English. The room was very tidy and clean with the maid visiting everyday to change bed linen, towels and clean the room. Breakfast was a simple but satisfying, with a typical French menu. The hotel also provides a free safety deposit box. The location is excellent with a supermarket and metro link just around the corner. Overall a fantastic holiday.
