Let down by apartment standard
Danny Campbell , Glasgow
Understood that we were booking into a five star establishment. How far from the truth this turned out to be! Booked a one bedroom apartment only to find out on arrival that the apartments are separate from the hotel itself. We were allocated apartment 401. Basic is the best way to describe the apartment. Flimsy cheap furnishings, dirt around the floor skirting from mopping, light fittings hanging down in the toilet. A settee that was so beyond it's use that you were constantly sliding off due to the poor quality. No sound protection on windows so awakened every morning around 6am due to deliveries on the Main Street below. Definitely wouldn't recommend the apartments.
The best thing about my stay was...Central location

Great hotel in central location
The Goldies-Blackpool, Blackpool
We had the friendliest greeting from the hotel reception staff who welcomed us to the Amerigo. We were upgraded from an apartment to a Superior room and offered a complimentary drink ( we chose cava). The room was superb especially the bathroom area with "his" and "hers" sinks a separate WC and a shower cubicle plus a bath. The rooftop terrace offered amazing views over Alicante and the castle which was a great sight at night time. The bar staff on the terrace were very polite and couldn't do enough for us and made a delightful sangria! we only stayed a couple of days to celebrate my husband's early retirement but will definatelyreturn in the not too distant future.
The best thing about my stay was...The friendliness of all of the staff and the central location

luxury hotel in central location
Beautifully renovated building in the old part of the city of Alicante but close to the bars, restaurants, shops and seafront. Lovely spacious room so no need to upgrade to a superior room. Friendly, helpful staff and good choice at breakfast.
The best thing about my stay was...rooftop pool and sunbathing area with fabulous views of cathedral and castle

nice hotel..... GREAT bathroom !
mojitojoe, Costa Blanca
We arrived early afternoon, to a very warm courteous welcome. Our room was comfortable, adequately furnished, but with only a view of the back of another building. The bathroom however was fantastic, featuring a huge mirror over twin wash basins, seperate wc/bidet, bath, and good shower, all partitioned off by large smoked glass panels. The bathroom was about the same size as the bedroom ! the entrance to the room also featured huge smoked glass doored wardrobes..... everything just a bit more special than most hotel rooms. We had a nice (albeit pricey) cocktail in the bar area, and again the service was friendly and efficient. The staff could not have been nicer to us.
The best thing about my stay was...the bathroom !

This hotel does not have a swimming pool...
L Kelly, Dublin
I think the photo's are very deceptive for this hotel. It does not have a swimming pool on the roof, it has a large very shallow (up to your knees) bath - which was very disappointing. It only has about 6 outdoor loungers. And the sauna was never turned on. One room was on the first floor - which is very noisy and meant I had two nights with no sleep. The other room was on the second floor and was slightly better. This is always a problem with very centrally located hotels - they can be noisy. One room was very spacious with a lovely bathroom area. The first floor room had a very small cramped bathroom. Both had lovely Korres products. The staff were very nice. However on our first night they did recommend a tapas bar that was €50 per person...and that was the food bill only. Overall I think it is probably the best hotel in Alicante..but very disappointed with the spa / swimming pool area.
The best thing about my stay was...Nice tapas
