Very pleased with the quality of the room. The bed was a bit small but overall from checking in to checking out , very pleased.

Great Location

This was brilliantly located in a quiet financial district that had access to the beautiful waterways where new bars and restaurants have been located which means guests have easy access to a vibrant nightlife at the weekend. The staff were welcoming and efficient. Room was great value, comfortable with perks like an iMac, Free WiFi and a radio with an MP3 port.

The best thing about my stay was...

The friendliness of the people we met everywhere

Just perfect...

Cannot find a single bad thing to say about the hotel/staff... in a nutshell: Check-in which was super fast, we were then given a complimentary room upgrade - nice touch - good size room, with great views over the city. Breakfast was a standard fare - plenty variety, hot or cold. Hotel was close to the NIA (we were there to watch a concert) but also to a lot of restaurants & bars in the vicinity too. Hotel carpark was full, so they gave us a voucher for the multi-storey next door... Actually worked out slightly cheaper. Nice friendly, helpful staff.... Perfect weekend :)

Good hotel in a great location

Nice quiet hotel just off broad street and next to Brindley place,so very well placed for bars and rsestaurants, as well as the ICC and theatre. Efficient check in. We arrived early and were quickly given a room. We asked for a quiet room and got just that. The rom was comfortable. Decent toiletries and a nice shower. Parking is available next door for £12.50. Breakfast was reasonably good, with a fair choice of fruit, cereal, juices., coffee / tea and cooked breakfast. In particular a chef was there to cook fresh eggs or omelette if you didn't want the available scrambled eggs.

Lovely Hotel. Very pleasant stay.

Great location and lovely hotel. Stayed here before and no problems in the past but this time the WIFI appeared to be very slow. Probably just a temporary problem. I was out most of the time so not an issue for me. I'd quite happily stay here again.

The best thing about my stay was...

The Location and the iMac (despite the slowness of the internet)

A fantastic location and lovely staff

When we arrived at the hotel we were very pleased, check in was easy and the staff were polite and room was very clean. The Apple Mac is a very good idea but the internet was extraordinarily slow. Very comfortable bed and linen but one downside was a rather unwanted hair woven into a clean towel. Not the fault of the hotel, but certainly wasn't a pleasant surprise. Late at night there was some loud thudding noises/music coming from somewhere, we couldn't figure out where, but it did disturb us somewhat, which was a shame. The air con in the rooms is quite noisy but I can imagine it would be much needed on hotter days so I'm sure the noise would be worth it to be cool! The breakfast was OK. A great selection of cooked and continental. The cooked wasn't brilliant but was satisfying. The service at breakfast was superb. Overall we had an excellent stay and would certainly stop at a Mint hotel again.

Everything was perfect

Before going I couldn't understand what made this hotel special in terms of everyone else's reviews. Now I've been I can understand! Everything about the hotel is better than average! It's clean, comfortable and has just a bit more than you expect! The staff are so friendly, helpful and efficient. The location is just brilliant - a few minutes walk to the canalside bars and Broad street but set back so it's quiet!

Couldn't find fault- excellent.

Stayed at the mint hotel for 1 night only, no problems atall. We parked in the hotel car park(£12), which is what I expected to pay for the NCP, it just meant that we didn't have to get wet going to and from the car. The room was very nice, imac pc instead of a TV, loads of TV channels on it tho sports, kids etc. bed comfy and firm. We ordered room service breakfast for an extra £4 which was fantastic, bacon sausage, scrambled eggs, toast, all still hot and well cooked.Along with juice, tea and pastries. Alot better than rushing downstairs feeling rubbish. Checked out at 12 no problems. Highly recommended.

Review of 'CITY INN BIRMINGHAM'

The City Inn is set in the impressive Brindleyplace development close to the centre of Birmingham. This was our first visit to the city and although only staying one night, the hotel was ideally situated.

The room was pleasant, though did feel a little compact compared to others we have stayed in. The remainder of the hotel appeared clean and quiet.

Breakfast was probably our only disappointment. There was a 5-minute wait to be seated, and a similar wait for parts of the cooked breakfast, with the snake of people waiting making it difficult to get an alternative. I'm sure this was just circumstancial though, and on the whole our stay at The City Inn was enjoyable and I would happily recommend it.

Review of 'CITY INN BIRMINGHAM'

The Best Pick In Birmingham City Centre

My first impressions were of a professional, friendly establishment, judging from the modern design of the hotel , the staff (and the extremely efficient lift). The interior, I noticed was kept immaculately.

The room I booked was clean and well presented. The bed was laid out with 4 pillows in crisp clean white sheets, a bed side table area with lamps, 2 cupboards with hanging space and wooden hangers, a desk with lamp and internet connection, tea and coffee making facilities a flat screen TV, DVD & CD players.

In the bathroom there was a powerful walk in shower, a corner sink and toilet. Soap is provided for hand washing by the sink and for hair and body in the shower though you also have miniatures by the White Company at your disposal. As well as the robes there are 2 large bath sheets, a floor mat and 2 hand towels.

All rooms have a floor to ceiling window, air conditioning, trouser press and 24-hour room service with a varied menu.

The hotel has an excellent location on the canal side of Brindley Place and not more than a 2-minute walk to Broad Street where Birmingham’s main bars and clubs are to be found . No parking is provided with the hotel but the car park is next door and has reduced rates for hotel customers - £9.50 for over 12 hours instead of £12.

They have a very good City Café, however I would urge you to try another place Birmingham has to, not because the standard is poor in the hotel, but purely for the reason that there is such a wide range of restaurants and cafes so close by.

In short the City Inn is an ideal place to stay for a short break of a few nights. Its location is supreme as it is close to the National Indoor Arena, Brindley Place Canal side and Symphony Hall. However this in my experience, did not affect the peaceful atmosphere of the hotel itself, which is tucked away from Broad Street’s clubs and its music.

Review of 'CITY INN BIRMINGHAM'

If this Hotel is 4star, I'll eat my hat!!! I just recently spent the night there and I am sure that when it first opened it was comtemporary and modern, but lack of attention and maintenance have made it just like any other two star hotel. The flat screen tv in the room did not make up for a tiny and frankly not very well maintained bathroom, dirty and shabby carpet, a bed that looked like it had been rescued from a skip and tiny wardrobe space. The temperature control in the room did not work and could not be fixed because maintenance finish at five! The windows look as if they haven't been cleaned for ages and outside the windows had never been swept up, with plenty of dirt, rubbish and fag-ends all over the place.

The breakfast buffet is one of the worst I have experienced for many a year. There was a lack of choice (no fried eggs or potatoes!!), under cooked sausages, watery scrambled eggs and the staff appear to find smiling a real effort.

Maybe I was just unlucky and got them on a bad weekend but I would avoid this hotel if in Birmingham and either pay extra for the Hyatt or Marriot or a little less for the Travelodge.
