Work in progress
Teesside Traveller, Co. Durham
On arriving we were immediately upgraded from Standard to Premium. This was obviously due to the renovation works in progress. This did not detract from the fact that the hotel was a very good place to be and the staff were all very polite and helpful. Our room was large bright and very very comfortable. We would recommend it every time but only on the deals that you can get on sites like alpha rooms. I would not pay full asking price.
The best thing about my stay was...Locality of hotel and the staff were superb, room was a star. .

FANTASTIC POSITION GREAT HOTEL
just back from 2 nights in this hotel. ive been before, about 4 years ago, but still as good. its a quiet time of year but that was the same all over edinburgh.the staff are excellent, nice big hotel and room was more than good enough. breakfast was lovely but i think i would expect more fresh fruit during the busy periods.i always try to be even handed so my only small gripe is that my room, 233, could have done with a bit of attention to the grouting under the shower area.
The best thing about my stay was...staff and location

Myself, wife and 8year child stayed for two nights, our room was big and very clean, it looked on to the main street which can be a bit noisy in early morning (did not bother us), the hotel is in a great location and the swimming pool was a great bonus for my 8 year old. The staff were very pleasant and would do anything to help. We would definitely stay in this hotel again.
The best thing about my stay was...Excellent location & big rooms

This is my fifth time staying at this hotel and again it didn't disappoint me. I had a lovely big room with great views. The staff were very attentive. I will be back next year.

We stayed at the Carlton Hotel, Edinburgh on 6 December 2013 for one night. Our room (number 224) was at the end of the corridor and had dual aspect windows with views up the Royal Mile. The room was very spacious and decorated to a decent standard. The only complaint we have is that the water coming from the basin tap in the bathroom was so hot that it burnt my husband's hand. We reported it to reception as we wouldn't want it happening to another adult, never mind a child.
The best thing about my stay was...The views from the dual aspect windows.

wonderful relaxed atmosphere
Neil from the west!!, Scotland
The service from all the staff was excellent. The double room we had was very spacious and had everything you needed. The sauna , steam room and pool were very clean and the staff at the pool reception were very helpful. You are given a key for your locker so no need to take down a pound coin Shower gel is also provided in the shower rooms. All in all a great stay in a wonderful hotel. Ps the breakfast was superb - loads to choose from and it kept us going till mid afternoon
The best thing about my stay was...Relaxed atmosphere
