Great Hotel - but looking tired
Stuart Draper, United Kingdom
Just came back from the H10 Rubicom Palace after spending a week there in late Aug. Staff very attentive and hotel facilties were very good. I expect when the hotel opened many years ago it was a flag ship product for H10. However rooms looked tired and dated and paint was starting peel of many of the walls of this large complex. Animation team was excellent and my kids loved all the activities - especially the pool foam party!! Every morning was a huge fight for sun beds but I guess August is peak season and the hotel seemed very full. I would say this is a 3 star hotel and does not quite warrant a 4 star rating - but over all a great stay but time to refurb the place.
The best thing about my stay was...Pools and kids entertainment

What an amazing place
John Brown, ayrshire
Just back from a 1 week stay at this beautiful hotel. Nothing but praise for this place starting the minute we walked through the door. Greeted by staff with a glass of bubbly or orange juice, quick check in from smiling receptionist and escorted to our room. Rooms are very spacious and were cleaned had clean towels etc every day. plenty of restaurants to choose from and lovely snacks by the pool. Also a lovely wee coffee shop with coffee, milkshakes and smoothies to die for. Branded spirits were available at no extra charge on the All Inclusive. 8 pools to choose from and plenty of sunbeds to go around. Spa access from 10am was chargable but available for use before 10am for free. plenty of activities by the pool every day and evening entertainment consisted of Disco, Exotic bird show, circus and many more. All in all a fantastic place for all ages and would highly recommend.
The best thing about my stay was...The Steak house

New Year stay
the hotel is lovely but rather large and at the very far side of Playa Blanca - there is a two tier service which is a little divisive in my opinion but the food and drink available on the standard fare is more than adequate and the speciality restaurants are well worth a visit
The best thing about my stay was...the staff especially in the restaurants are efficient and friendly - even on NYE when they were extremely busy

Just back from very enjoyable stay. Lovely big room and well kept hotel.Food very good and plenty choice. Some small disappointments, uht milk and often warm for breakfast, hot drinks only with breakfast in main dining room and no plain sausage, I know we were in Spain and it is often the case. Lots of pools and plenty for young children but a few water slides would make it the perfect venue for a family break. Quite a walk from centre of Playa Blanca but the walk is ok if your fit or its easy to get a bus or taxi.
The best thing about my stay was...Large hotel with plenty of room

Amazing! I didn't want to go home!
I have recently returned from h10 rubicon palace and it was my best holiday by far. The entertainment was brilliant always something different happening for both children and adults. The food was great, had a wide range of different meals to choose from. It was the most clean hotel I've ever stayed in and I will definitely return. Highly recommend for anyone, family's, couples even a group of friends.
The best thing about my stay was...Entertainment in the evening, my brother is 2 and loved it, it was a mixed evening for children and adults, it's great the hotel staff think of everyone when it comes to entertainment.

H10 Rubicon Palace, Playa Blanca, Lanzarote
Mike. Heathfield, Heathfield
We, (2 adults + 13 year old daughter) shared a room. Room was large and spacious even with the additional bed for our daughter. Tip: ask for an additional room key as electrics and air conditioning all powered via key. We left ours in at all times to keep the air con ticking over. Had to pay 17 euros a week for the safe in the room. Tip: Register with the H10 Loyalty Program before you go - this will give you additional perks like dressing gowns and slippers for the room along with complimentary bottle of Cava. Ample sun loungers around the six pools, on check-in we were advised that reserving them was strictly forbidden and that towels would be removed but this was ignored and people were putting towels out from 6am onwards which was necessary if you wanted a particular spot. Not aware of towels being removed by the hotel. Two main buffet restaurants for breakfast and evening meal as well as three other a la-carte restaurants. Best to book these up at the start of your holiday as they seemed very popular. Animation team provided daily activities without any hassle to participate. Also put on shows in the evening (Grease, Mama Mia, We Will Rock You etc mimed, i hasten to add but still very good. There was also outside entertainment such as Magic show, Beijing circus acts, Brazilian themed night and guitar legends. There is also a piano bar with live music as an alternative choice. There is an option to upgrade to privilege but not worth the 40 euros per person per night for sea-view, posh coffee maker and internet in the room. Free internet is available in the main building on all three levels. All in all a very enjoyable two weeks with never a dull moment. Highly recommended
The best thing about my stay was...The Weather. No rain, nice cooling breeze. Animation Team.

Fantastic holiday at Rubicon Palace
Fantastic stay at H10 Rubicon Palace! We have just returned from our 2wk stay & already looking to book for next year. Excellent customer service from all staff & cannot fault the staff at all. We celebrated a birthday & an anniversary during our stay & a lovely touch from the hotel recognising this & providing complementary bottles of cava for each occasion! Also really appreciated the spa voucher for our Anniversay! Food quality & choice were superb in all restaurant & I would thoroughly reccommend visiting the Mediterranean restaurant during your stay! All rooms & grounds were kept in fantastic condition & again this is a credit to all staff! I look forward to visiting again next summer!
The best thing about my stay was...Personalised customer service throughout our stay!

The best thing about my stay was...everything couldn't fault anything
30 October 2013
We had two rooms as a group of 4 (3 ad & 1ch) and they were large and lovely, huge balcony overlooking one of the pools. Complex is large av a lot of steps so if you have mobility problems this may not be for you as the ramps etc take you a very long way around.... Pools great but some a little cold for the kids, pirate pool was our daughters favourite along with the hotels kids club....this is multi lingual.....my 5 year loved it! The entertainment team lve kids and makes them all feel special.... Very nice week had by all, great choice of food and plentiful.....would return
The best thing about my stay was...Weather and facilities at the hotel

Perhaps not as good as it seems...
Robert Cox, Bristol
So, I booked this hotel after reading copious reviews, and hoped that we would have a good stay. Overall we had a room, and it was good enough to sleep in... however there seems to be some things wrong with this hotel that can only be experienced. The overall impression is of a 4 star "on a budget" with the bare minimum of a room included, everything else is extra. The bad bits: - On checking in we were told that we would get 1 free meal in the Italian restaurant on-site, this later transpired to be false because we were not "all inclusive". Despite the lady checking us in, informing us we would be entitled to this, and knowing full well we were bed/breakfast - On passing by the restaurants for dinner and enquiring about the prices to eat there and how it worked. We were told that the food was "free" and only had to pay for our drinks. We were surprised and questioned this as we were not inclusive, and informed that we would only pay for our drinks... On check out, a 40 euro bill was presented for the privilege of eating at the mediocre buffet (much nicer meals available for this money in town / marina rubicon) - On going down for breakfast, my mobile phone was left in my room. On return it had vanished with the cleaner. The hotel manager was helpful to give me internet access to block the phone, but quickly informed me that they would not reimburse for the phone. There was no offer of anything remotely complimentary given the situation, and even told us to drive to the police station ourselves to report the theft. From a 4 star hotel I would have expected more service. - Safes in rooms require daily rental... this is the first time I've ever seen it in a hotel as it's normally included in the room.Given the above situation of theft it would be dangerous to not get the safe. - No tea and coffee facilities in the room - Definitely not for younger travellers looking for something special (Avg age is 50+) - Would expect more for the money when paying over 100 euro a night and there are definitely better deals on offer if you're going half-board and want to actually see the island and eat in nice restaurants The good bits: - The room was clean... mostly. Bedding occasionally had stains - Balcony area was nice - PADI scubing centre was excellent and recommend the discovery dive - SPA was nice and only costs 10 euro per person for as long as you wish
The best thing about my stay was...Scuba diving

Great hotel - excellent staff
Faye Trapnell, Dunster, England.
After spending 9 nights at H10 Rubicon Palace my husband and I felt totally relaxed. The staff were so helpful and polite, and really went out of their way to make guests' stays feel comfortable. The resort is a little way out of Playa Blanca but there are some great little beaches either side, both with amazing snorkelling opportunities! The resort is clean, tidy and well organised. Little extras like an orange juice on arrival and having luggage taken to your room are great touches especially for a 4 star hotel. Food from the buffet was varied and each night was themed differently, plus, if half board, you are entitle to one meal in the hotel's Italian restuarant which was a nice, unexpected surprise. So, all in all, we would definitely return, but need to wait a whil until we have shed the pounds gained from the excessive amounts of food and relaxation we indulged in!
The best thing about my stay was...Cal, relaxed but very efficient atmosphere.

Fantastic Hotel - Excellent Holiday!
Mike Smith, Hull
Stayed at the Rubicon Palace in August 2013 as a family of 4 (kids 8 & %). Cannot fault this hotel at all! Service was excellent in all aspects, from the cleaners who attended our room every day, right through to the reception staff who were attentive and very informative. The entertainment was spot on, as is usual for H10 hotels, with the kids clubs and mini disco's for the kids daily and a wide range of evening entertainment for the adults. The entertainment team certainly put their heart and soul into making it a fun enviroment for all, and worked extremely hard day and night. Overall and excellent hotel with lovely grounds and fantastic facilities, one i would certainly return to in the future!
The best thing about my stay was...Excellent Entertainment for adults and kids alike

Restful and refreshing
All brilliant, the rooms, the gardens , the pools, the restaurants and bars. The staff were exceptional and all only happy to please, working very hard to make our stay perfect. Our room was quite a way from the main building so the only criticism was we had no fresh water available even though All Inclusive so we had to fill up bottles to take back to our rooms. Then there were the STEPS, having visited the hotel on a previous trip to Lanzarote we were assured there were lifts, there were but not to our rooms which were a trek from the centre of the site. It was ok for the younger members but hard for me with a dodgy knee. Having said that I think I could have moved rooms but preferred to be near the rest of the family so it was down to me. We all had a wonderful time, can't comment on the entertainment or children's clubs as we did not use them, however the Piano Bar was very good in the evening.
The best thing about my stay was...The views across to Fuerteventura and the stunning gardens and pools.

Fantastic family holiday
Zvezdan Djordjevic, Dublin
I cannot praise this hotel enough, the staff were very friendly and more than willing to help in any given situation. we traveled with two young kids ages 5 and 11 and they had a ball. Big thanks to the best running mini club we ever seen in a four star hotel. Kids were very happy with all the activities they had in the mini club and they couldn’t wait to go back next day, but also my wife and myself being without them for 5 hours every day :-)! you can’t ask for more can you!!
The best thing about my stay was...Everything

I had reviewed many hotels in the Canary Islands on various web sites and narrowed it down to this one - all the positives are true!! It is located at the edge of Playa Blanca so if you want to be right in the entre it's not for you, but for us it was just what we wanted. A brisk walk and you're at Playa Flamingo in 15 mins - if with children probably 25. The hotel is on a bus route that takes you to the Rubicon Marina for 1.50 euros or a taxi for a family of 5 only cost 5 euros. The hotel itself is really well laid out - beautiful reception area, greeted with cava or OJ. Booking in was easy and as we arrived on a private transfer we were the only ones booking in at the time. I joined the H10 Club before going and e-mailed the hotel with my room requirements - the rooms they allocated us matched everything I had asked for so couldn’t be happier. They had also upgraded us to Privilege Rooms with the coffee machine etc. so I was really happy. We wanted to be just away from the action and were located by the children's pirate pool with slides etc. Our rooms were ground floor and opened out onto a large grassed area with views out to Fuerteventura and Lobos - perfect!! This meant we could play games with our son on the grass area when we wanted a break from the pool. The Daisy clubs looked very well organised - my 5yr old didn't want to go in them however - there was crazy golf and various activities you could take part in. The latter part of our stay we went to the pool with the waterfall by blocks 98 as the kid’s pirate pool was too shallow for our son to swim. This was quiet enough but great for kids say 4-12 years old. I've read reviews where people say it's too far to walk from one end of the complex to the other and couldn't disagree more. The layout enables you to pick areas that suit you - if you want the entertainment, animation team and music head for the large pools by the pool bar, smaller children the pirate pool, there is a waterfall pool at the top end near the larger pools and the quieter one we went too - there is also a quieter pool again where it seemed to be mainly adults. A number of reviews refer to the main buffet restaurant being like a canteen and I can see why they say this - however it has a massive choice. We went to the quieter restaurant for one evening and it was much quieter and relaxed but a smaller selection, so we always opted for the larger one. The food was excellent - various theme nights (Chinese very good) and at breakfast a wide variety to choose from. On our 11 night stay we only had one evening (Spanish night I think) where we were a little disappointed with the choices but that's probably just our taste preferences. We took the opportunity of the night in the Italian restaurant and would recommend it. It was surprising how this cold change so much as it's quite busy in the day as the pool bar but took on a different vibe in the evening. You're greeted with a cocktail and there is a singer who was wonderful. In the evenings we would tend to go to the main area where the staff did some good shows - towards the end of our stay however we preferred to go to the Beefeater bar for a few drinks. There is also the piano Bar on floor 6 by reception which is lovely. The view from the balcony outside here is gorgeous. I have to finally mention all the staff - from the reception, maids, waiters/waitresses (who work like Trojans clearing plates, re-setting tables etc.), animation team, gardeners (who keep the areas looking fab and are constantly strimming and cutting the grass!) they were all FAB. My Dad's travel bag was broken and he had asked reception if he could try and staple it - they took the bag and got a maintenance team member to look at it - when it was returned the next day it looked good as new. This shows how they will do anything they can to help. In summary, if you're thinking of booking this hotel JUST DO IT!

Perfect place to stay
Mark Broughton, Newark
We stayed at the H10 Rubicon Palace from the 23rd May - 30th May 13. We were a large party of 8 so stayed in three rooms. The hotel itself is beautiful with spectacular views of fuerteventura and the sea. Food was excellent - we went all inclusive. You can eat in the main restaurant which has different themes for lunch and dinner. There are also a large variety of snacks served in the pool bar from 10am till 6pm - plenty of fruit, ice-creams etc. Lots of different activities available throughout the day such as darts, pool games etc. There is also a crazy golf course which is free. Also you can have a try at scuba diving in the pool, which is also free for your first try. We had a fab time , would definately recommend and we will be returning at some point in the near future. N.B it is about a 20/25 minute walk into playa blanca - however it is a coastal walk, so very scenic and taxi back is only about 3-4 euros.
The best thing about my stay was...Hotel was just fab - no complaints

Excellent for small children!
Patrice Cawley, Co Limerick
Lovely hotel but very big - do request room close to main pool area. Facilities are excellent and the entertainment staff superb..... they work so hard and are still so friendly and helpful. The food is fine, fairly typical of buffet style. Staff at reception desk are very helpful too. Our only problem was the distance from Playa Blanca and the beach. The nearest beach was nice (flamingo beach) but it was a long walk for small children.
The best thing about my stay was...Kids pool!!

just returned from a 10 day stay.Hotel was clean and very well kept.Staff were all helpful and friendly and 'hats off' to the staff in the dining room who were rushed off their feet but could'nt do enough for you.Contrary to some reviews on trip advisor ,i thought the all inclusive was fine.I did think there could have been a little variety in the pool bar but i felt there was ample choice in the dining room.We all came home considerably heavier!!I do think it is not the case when people say the food is repetative-i think it is more likely that we all get fed up of eating 3 large meals a day every day rather than it being down to lack of choice. Think the young kids entertainment was ok but went on too long-every night the mini-disco went on from 7.30 to at least 9 o clock with the 'proper' shows not coming on sometimes till 10 oclock-by which time we were so fed up we had left. The younger kids loved the songs etc but i think there could have been something at night to interest those a little older -ie 8 upwards .My son would have loved to see a couple of the shows we saw but was too tired by the time they came on. Also felt one pool bar was insufficient for the size of the hotel.Felt it was hard on the people without kids. They understandably chose to sunbathe near the quieter pools but as a result had to hike to the pool bar everytime they wanted a drink. The rooms were spacious, the maid service was excellent. I cant really fault this hotel on the whole and intend my criticisms to be constructive.would go again and would recommend. Also alpharooms price was very competative .
The best thing about my stay was...The food!
