Stirling is a small city in Scotland linking the lowlands to the highlands. The old-town of Stirling tells the story of it’s past, with the famous castle, Church of the Holy Rude and the town walls. Excellent for shopping and home to a lively University, this city has a cosmopolitan feel with theatres, cinemas and regular live performances. As well as all the attractions Stirling has to offer, it is also a popular destination as its central location gives easy access to other cities in Scotland and to reach the Southern Highlands.

Good shopping can be mixed with a great historical trail

The Thistle shopping centre has everything you could need, there are hundreds of shops and plenty eateries. Outside, the high street has a good additional selection of shops. The walk to the castle is uphill but the views are worth it. The traditional pubs serving good scottish food can be found scattered throughout the town, as can the normal mainstream pub chains. All in all a good visit where you can do the historical trails or shop till you drop.

The best thing about my stay was ...

Has something for everyone
