Konakli is situated around 10km to the west of the famous resort of Alanya in a picturesque setting surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea and Taurus Mountain. The resort is a good size for those wanting to avoid the hustle and bustle of a city or major resort but are still looking for a holiday destination with a good amount of facilities and services available to them. Konakli is typically popular with couples and families looking for a relaxing break in Turkey. Many of the hotels in the resort are all inclusive and offer great full entertainment programmes but there is more to Konakli than just hotels, as this guide will reveal.
The resort of Konakli has approximately 100 cafes, bars and restaurants to choose from, making sure you’re never bored or stuck for somewhere to eat. There are also a good range of bars, many of which are family friendly. A top tip is to keep any eye out for any happy hour offers as many of the bars have buy one get one free and cheap drink deals on.
First of all when staying in Konakli you will soon realise that many of the hotels have their own souvenir shops, but if you fancy brining a memento back that’s slightly different here are a few tips. Visit the market which is on three times a week in the centre of Konakli and is ideal for picking up Turkish rugs, local jewellery and pottery. If you miss the market, however, don’t worry as there are around 250 shops in the resort all selling similar goods and remember in Turkey it is perfectly acceptable to haggle for a better price even within shops.
