Pattaya is a vibrant city on the east coast of Thailand, south east of Thailand’s capital Bangkok. Pattaya is one of Thailand’s major beach resorts offering some beautiful untouched coves tucked away from the bustling city. There’s something for everyone here – whether you’re a sun worshipper looking for relaxation, a shopaholic seeking authentic souvenirs at the floating markets or a partygoer in search of some electric nightlife, Pattaya is the place for you.

Pattaya Beaches

A holiday to Pattaya is not complete without paying a visit to one of the beautiful sandy beaches. Pattaya’s beaches boast excellent water sport facilities and the crystal clear blue-green waters make for the perfect snorkelling spots. If you are in search of a lively beach experience with lots going on, Pattaya Beach is the place to go. Its crescent-shaped coastline with caramel-coloured sand and warm, emerald seas lapping the shores make you feel like you are in paradise. Take a ride on a speed boat or enjoy some traditional Thai food in one of the floating restaurants that line the coast whilst watching the breathtaking sunset. For a more tranquil beach day, head to Jomtien Beach. This beach is particularly popular with the Thai locals with similar facilities to Pattaya Beach. Rent a chair, lay back and relax in the sun while the kids splash around in the shallow sea.

Four Regions Floating Market

A floating market is a must see when visiting Thailand, and Pattaya’s market is one of a kind. Here you can experience four different market sections, each one is unique to a different part of Thailand. The market boasts a rainbow of colourful stalls offering tropical fruits, authentic Thai food and traditional souvenirs. For the ultimate market experience, you can hire a boat to transport you around the markets on the water whilst you admire the beautiful architecture and enjoy life on the river. The delicious fragrance of Thai food fills the air around you whilst you tuck into a famous coconut pancake or enjoy some Pad Thai or noodle soup.

Family Friendly Fun

If you are travelling with children, Cartoon Network Amazone Waterpark is well worth a visit. Kids can meet their favourite Cartoon Network characters like Ben 10 and The Powerpuff Girls and enjoy the water rides and shows for the day. The park is split focussing on small children in some parts and other parts for teens and adults, so there is something for all the family to enjoy. You can also take a visit to Underwater World, where you can see Thailand’s marine life in an indoor aquarium setting. Don’t miss out on a once in a lifetime experience of swimming with sharks or sting rays. Just relax in the water and let them swim on by.

Walking Street

The world renowned Walking Street is Pattaya’s main area for great nightlife and one of Thailand’s largest party hotspots. Neon lights and packed bars and nightclubs line the kilometre stretch of nightlife which really comes to life when the sun goes down. Visitors to Pattaya can also enjoy famous cabaret and magic shows. Walking Street is not really a family friendly area, however Pattaya does have many resorts, restaurants and bars for the family to enjoy.
