beautiful and quiet

mijas is a beautiful village up in the mountains. if you are looking for a relaxing holiday then this could be for you . i would not recommend it for young people has there would not be enough going on in the evenings .bars tend to close arond 10.30 11.00pm so no good for nightlife lovers. if you are the type of person to like a meal with a glass of wine in quiet surroundings then mijas is the place. very freindly people ,nothing to much troble for them.

Beautiful mountain village

We have been to Mijas many times over the last 11 years, as we have family there and we absolutely love it. The village is set on a mountainside which outstanding views down to the coast. The people are very friendly and there are some lovely bars and cafes and shops. We call it our second home. There is regular entertainment in the square eg flemenco dancing and much more. The ferrier is well worth seeing, which is around about 6th or 8th September for a week.

The best thing about my stay was ...

Position and friendly people.

SMALL, LIVELY TOWN

MIJAS IS A LOVELY SETTING FOR A HOLIDAY, THOUGH I WOULD NOT SAY IT IS MORE APPROPRIATE FOR COUPLES RATHER THAN A FAMILY HOLIDAY. IT IS A QUAINT LITTLE TOWN, NOT TO LARGE TO SEE AROUND, A BIT HILLY IF PERHAPS SOMEONE IS INFIRM. THE VIEW ARE SPECTACULAR.

A beautiful, typically Spanish village

Mijas is a beautiful find up in to the mountain and is well woth a visit- you could not be disappointed. It is a maze of white-washed buildings, including numerous interesting shops selling Spanish nic-nacs and arty goods. The restaurants nestled along the narrow streets offer great Spanish dishes and wine at reasonable prices- and the "people-watching" is great, too! (especially in the Square). There is even a bull-ring, for those in to Spanish customs, with the event often being on a Sunday evening. The well-looked after donkeys offer visitors a ride up the hill and it's very cute listening to the tinkling of their bells. Mijas will be one of the best places you have visited if you are a Spain -lover.

Loved Mijas - beautiful tucked away Spanish town

Loved Mijas still quite unspoilt but enough bustle/bars/restaurants - lovely to wonder the little pretty streets and soak it all up. Definitely go again and a bonus being only 20 minutes from Malaga Airport. A little secret up in the hills above Fuengerola where I would only venture to, to get the bus and train back to the airport as the taxi's all charge 45 euros for a 15 min drive!! Train goes straight into Malaga Airport for 2.5 euros - marvellous!

The best thing about my stay was ...

Beauty, unspoilt pretty hilltop town

BEAUTIFUL SPANISH TOWN

THERE IS LOADS TO SEE AND WE FELT THERE WAS STILL A LOT AFTER 4 DAYS. TAPAS AND WINE BARS ARE WONDERFUL, REASONABLY PRICED AND GOOD QUALITY. IT IS ONLY A SHORT BUS RIDE TO FUENGIROLA WHERE THE TRAIN IS, SO I THINK IT IS A GOOD LOCATION.

Fuengirola

We never really went to Mijas as we didn't have access to a car. However we walked along the beach to Fuengirola which was a beautiful little town. Beachfront with sunbeds and hammocks out to hire with restuarants offering beach service. There were many shops so no need to worry about souvenirs and there was a fair amount of nightclub going on too. Oh, the beach stretched all the way across so no worry about the beach being too full. You could also hire out paddle boats, we also saw jet skiiers and water skiiers and motoboats available to hire.
