great looking city on the sea

Spent 2 days here and first was spent at Marineda City - Spain's largest shopping mall! I have a teenage daughter....It has everything you want and Ikea is also next door. A tip - make sure you note where you parked your car, which level, which colour parking and what number, as the parking area is huge. We got lost and it took ages to find the car. Next day we did sightseeing, Torre de Hercules, a world heritage site. Very interesting to read about the history and it was 3 euros to climb to the top. Worth it for the views and didn't mind paying as it goes to the upkeep of the lighthouse. Next we went to the aquarium, near the lighthouse on the other side of the beach. 10 euros per adult to get in and although not a huge amount to see, it was a nice couple of hours and the sea lions were very cute. Next we went to the Parque de San Pedro which has an elevator that takes you to the paseo from the park at the top of the cliff. This was 3 euros one way per adult and goes every half an hour. Again the views are amazing. The park itself is incredibly well kept, perfectly manicured lawns and a great place for a picnic. There's a children's play area and lots of things for them to climb on and space to run around. Although we didn't go in it the restaurant looked very nice, had more amazing views and was extremely busy, which is a good sign. We did pay 4.5 euros to go into the observation dome and watched a video about La Coruña, interesting but probably not worth the money. A great city and would go back for more as we didn't look around the city centre.

The best thing about my stay was ...

the views!
