Cala Mandia Overview
Cala Mandia is still a new resort which has little commercialised developments at present. It is located on the quiet eastern coast of Mallorca, and offers a tranquil retreat for those looking for relaxation. There are some shops to provide any everyday essentials but most amenities are to be found at Porto Cristo nearby. The nightlife and entertainment for children is mainly hotel based, unless you travel into Porto Cristo where there is more on offer, or further afield for water and sporting activities.
Who should go?
It's a very quiet resort which is perfect if you are eager to get away from the tourist crowds. Hotels do cater for children so families are welcomed but older children may find the resort too quiet.
Discover the nearby town of Manacor, home of Mallorca's pearl industry. You can watch the local workers transform glass and pulverised fish scales into artificial but beautiful pearls.
