Cancun Hotels and Apartments
Cancun has developed very quickly into one of the most popular holiday destinations in the world. Outside of Spring Break when the resort is full of enthusiastic American college students, Cancun is popular with both North American and European visitors. The resort sits on the Yucatan Peninsula in the south east of Mexico. The peninsula enjoys an enviable location with the Gulf of Mexico to the west and the Caribbean to the east. Cancun is split into two distinct areas, the Hotel Zone and Downtown.
13 miles of beachfront
The Hotel Zone is built on a 13 mile stretch of fine white sand facing the Caribbean and features a wide range of hotels as well as bars, restaurant, shops and entertainment for all. Downtown is dominated by the Avenida Tulum, the main road through the centre of the town. Between the two zones is the impressive Nichupte Lagoon. The beach is the real draw but the area is busy with exciting opportunities for days out, from the ancient Mayan ruins of Tulum to the relaxed charm of Isla Mujeres.
Dia de la Revolucion Mexicana – November 20th
Time your holiday to Cancun with the annual celebration of the Mexican Revolution of 1910. The whole of the country celebrates this momentous period in Mexican history. Cancun will be lively with parades, parties and celebrations across the resort.
