Lovely city full of history

There is plenty to do in this city if you like sightseeing. You also have the amazing baths which are in the city which are great for any type of weather. We went to some lovely restaurants which are very reasonably priced, but check the price of wine before you purchase! A lot of places close at 11pm but thats not a problem unless you want to party.

The best thing about my stay was ...

Everything you want to see is so easy to get too. You have trams, tubes, buses and taxis.

02 September 2010

Excellent compact city for a short break.

Budapest is a beautiful city with wonderfully preserved architecture. We were very impressed by the cleanliness of the streets - saw no litter. All main attractions were within walking distance of each other, but we found open top tour bus an ideal way of getting around. Plenty of river cruises to choose from to suit all tastes. We found all the staff in hotel, restaurants and attractions extremely courteous and helpful. If you are an E.U. citizen then you can get free entry intp Parliament Building by showing your passport. The Parliament is well worth a visit as the building is opulent. The Passport also gives concessions to entry in a number of museums. Found shopping for clothes very expensive. Restaurant prices were very similar to the UK although the service was much superior - but don't restrict your choice to riverside as many great and cheaper restaurants further away from river.

The best thing about my stay was ...

Breathtaking Architecture and friendly people.
