Bremen is a hanseatic city in the north western region of Germany, presenting its visitors with an attractive combination of historic ambience, well-mixed cultural program and a wide variety of retail outlets. Bremen is an outward-looking, very friendly, cultural and industrial capital of its own city state. The city is both commercial and industrial with a major port on the River Weser. Bremen is the second most populous in Northern Germany and tenth in the whole country. Most popular sights are found in the Altstadt (Old Town), such as The Marktplatz (Market Sqaure), which is the most powerful and political centre of Bremen, attracting thousands of tourists, due no doubt to the beautiful architecture, it is one of the most remarkable in north Germany. To the east of Marktplatz is St Peter’s Cathedral which began its construction in 1041 in the style of an early Gothic basilica on the site of Bremen’s original wooden cathedral that was located there in the late 8th century. For tremendous views, climb the 265 steps to the top of the southern tower.

10/10 Amazing

04 November 2012

my favourite place

a mixture of beautiful historical buildings, great shopping and olde worlde charm.I had been there for the first time in August and couldn't wait to go back. It was everything and more. Already looking at returning there next year. The catherdral was beautiful. The only downside being it would be nice if more english was spoken. If you happen to go when the Fair is there at the end of october beginning nov avoid the food vans as they were VERY RUDE.. they served me a COLD burger and when I took it back they warm the SAME one up and then placed it in A HARD STALE BUN.. I took it back a second time and they told me to go away. I refused and said I want it changed. They did eventually but I wasn't happy...

The best thing about my stay was ...

THE buildings mixed with the shopping

8/10 Great
