Puerto Rico at a glance
Puerto Rico is on the south west tip of the island of Gran Canaria. The holiday resort has grown out of a traditional fishing village into a modern, lively, holiday centre. Puerto Rico is built into the hillside and the hotels and apartments appear to flow down into the ocean at times.
The resort is really accessible with two prominent marinas at either end of the main beach providing not only a picturesque setting but also a nicely sheltered beach. The resort spreads up the hill with the majority of the accommodation set into the hillside. There are two significant commercial centres and a wide range of place to eat and drink.

It is also worth heading inland either by bus or car and explore the wonders of this mountainous island. The peak of Roque Nublo is accessible on foot and the panoramic views of the island and ocean are well worth the effort.
