Our family stayed at the Tamariscos in the middle of September. We had a great time and the weather was wonderful. Unlike other hotels there was no saving of sun loungers around the pool as there was room for everyone. If you preferred the beach it is a very short distance away. We had booked self-catering and the room was fine with a balcony overlooking the large pool. The only dissappointment was that as it was self catering booking and there was no kettle or toaster provided in our room. We had to pay 11 euros each to hire for the week.
The best thing about my stay was...The hotel pool and the beach being so close together and we had a choice.

The Grupotel Tamariscos enjoys a prime location overlooking Calan Bosch beach. I visited with my partner and two children aged 9 and 11. The hotel is quiet with a laid back atmosphere. There were a good mix of nationalities at the hotel including holidaying spaniards. Our room overlooking the beach and pool was clean and basic, with effecient air conditioning and a small kitchen area which was sadly under equipped. Kettles, toasters and microwaves are all available for hire from reception, but they are not cheap and in my opinion are basics when self catering and should be provided for free. There is pool based entertainment for kids during the day and a kids disco at night, but this is not the place to stay if you are looking for adult hotel based entertainment. This consists of quizzes and bingo in the bar which closes at ten p.m. This is the place to go if you are looking for a relaxing holiday in a friendly and quiet hotel in a great location overlooking the beach.
The best thing about my stay was...Wonderful location.

beautifully located on a headland between the beach and marina entrance. wonderful views from room and both pool areas. didn't sample the "entertainment" as kiddy disco and bingo/quiz didn't float our boat but it looked like it was popular with the young familes. there was a disney show on the Saturday but again we didn't go. Bar snacks were tasty though there wasn't a vast choice but what we had was nice. Helen in the bar was our favourite staff member. very funny, polite and efficient. fresh towels were left every day except tuesdays and you even got a letter on a monday reminding you that there wouldn't be any clean towels the next day. the whole complex was clean and tidy. plenty of sunbeds. if there weren't any beds when we came down (usually round 12-1pm!) we put out our towels on the grass and would have a bed within the hour. bus stop to cuitedella is only 5 mins away. bars/restaurants at the marina again only 5 mins (cafe balear at the marina serves the most delicious lamb for anyone that likes it!) generally quiet in the rooms though young children tend to rise earlier than we did so there was some noise in the mornings. nice relaxing place to stay.

Fantastic location, lovely relaxing holiday
Joanne Roberts, Cambridge
The location of this hotel is as good as it gets. All rooms have a sea view. From the main pool you have a wonderful view of the beach and out to sea and can be on the beach in a couple of minutes. Hotel has 2 fantastic pools and a lifeguard on duty every day. Apartments are a good size and a nice bathroom with good shower. If you want a kettle / toaster etc you will have to hire one from reception. The pool bar has very limited snacks. This is not a problem as the snack bar on the beach is only a minute walk away and has a huge choice of snacks, food and ice cream. The nearest supermarket is about 3 min walk and has fresh bread, crossants etc baked on site which are great for breakfast and a self catered lunch. The Marina is a gentle 5 minute walk away and have a good range of restaurants and bars. All very relaxed and no people trying to sell you goods in the restaurants. Would recommend Mr Jaume restaurant - get for fish, meat, pizza and individual paella's and the staff are friendly (went 3 times). Did not have a bad meal in any of the places we ate at - although locals say to avoid Britainnia restaurant which we did! We did not eat the the hotel so can not comment on the restaurant there

Sad to leave
Linda Beauchamp, Dorset
We loved it and didn't want to leave. - Can't wait to go back. Great staff especially reception, thank you Margarita and very helpful chap ( sorry didn't get your name ! ) we had the best view looking over the beach and sea, as do most of the rooms, totally relaxing. Bad bits - noisy rooms, although apparently refurbished the apartments still seem a bit tired and not that well equiped for a three star ! we were ther for 14 nights and had to move to the Macarella for the last night as Tamariscos was closing, Macarella was a very smart 4 * and had everything you could ask for but very impersonal, wouldn't book to go there. Cala en Bosch is lovely but be aware you will need lots of euros as it is very expensive for food and drink compared to all the other resorts and as we had a car for the 2 weeks we did visit the others. All that said we will be saving up to go to The Tamariscos next year for sure. Enjoy Lin & Ray

Wonderful holiday. June 2008
Just returned from great stay at Tamariscos. We stayed in a ground floor one bedroomed apartment which was fine and cleaned regularly. We had a sea view as all apartments do, its close to both the beach and the harbour. Real mix of nationalities staying there which was nice. Two great pools and friendly staff. Our eldest joined in a few of the entertainment games and enjoyed himself. Will definitely return.

great location for young families
My family and i only arrived back from the Tamariscos today, but felt i really needed to say what a great place it is for young families. We hadn`t booked with Alpharooms before and we were more than a little worried when we arrived at the appartments on 5th october, not sure what the place would be like.We needn`t have worried, the appartment was basic but very clean, and the view was outstanding! We were on the top floor and had an uninterrupted view of the beach and the sea.The cleaning staff were great and arrived every day to change the sheets and the towels,in fact all the staff were very friendly and couldn`t do enough for you.The only minor gripe was that there wasn`t a toaster or kettle, but you could hire these from reception. All in all Tamariscos is perfectly located for all you need for a relaxing holiday.

My wife and I stayed at the Tamariscos in August 2007, booking through Alpha Rooms (good service). We probably had the worst located room on the edge of the complex (luck of the draw I guess), but still had a good sea view. The apartment itself was nice - a bit of flakey paint here and there but clean and spacious. My two main gripes were that the beds weren't the best - two "camp beds" pushed together and whilst the bathroom came equipped with a hair dryer, you had to pay extra to hire a toaster or kettle, which in my view should come as standard in any self-catering apartment. They were only about 10-15 Euros each for a week but still! The staff were friendly and the hotel had a good mix of nationalities - mainly English and German as you would expect. Nice swimming pools. The best thing about the hotel is the location - overlooking the beach and with uninterrupted views of the sea as it sits on the headland. Very close to the harbour where all of the restaurants are.

A must if you want to chill!
Debra Tait, Ashington Northumberland
We booked this Holiday through alpha rooms as we have never been dissapointed in the past. My fiance and I stayed here in July 2007 for a week and wished we had booked longer! The Hotel was absolutely first class, we had a ground floor apartment over looking the sea and could not have asked for a better location to say nothing of the views! The apartment was quite basic but clean which suited our self catering needs, we rarely had to move too far as the pool and beach are really close by and we even had our own little garden! The evening stroll to the marina was a delight with plenty of places to eat and drink, no one harrassed you which left you free to wander and check out the many craft stalls. Overall I would recommend this hotel to one and all, we are hoping to book again for next year and take our young son as the whole area catered for a cross section of holiday makers! Thanks to the Tamarisco we had one of the best holidays to date and wuold recommend it to others.
