Nice and friendly hotel
Pros: Pleasant ambiance, friendly staff, good location Cons: outdoor pool not heated, mattresses and pillows not at all comfortable (too soft!)
The best thing about my stay was...Friendliness of the staff and location of hotel
09 September 2017
stayed for 12 days from sat 26th aug until thurs 7th sept half board
OConnors from Galway Ireland, Ireland
we stayed in country view room which had a very small balcony room 301 the beds were very hard and uncomfortable with a heavy duvet in 30 degree heat when you took duvet off there was no top sheet to pull up over you airconditioning very noisy when i asked for a top sheet they just changed the bottom fitted sheet one every morning the noise from the building works next door started about 6in the morning which meant not getting much quality sleep
The best thing about my stay was...lovely location overlooking the harbour lots of nice local restaurants and pubs down the road

First time in Gozo
David Everitt, Broseley Wood Shropshire
I found the location a little noisy the hotel was a little tired and in need of updating in certain area's ie pool the staff and service were excellent and the food of a high standard.
The best thing about my stay was...Comfortable room and good views

Our 4th stay
We enjoy the location and the view. The hotel is very clean and the staff are all very pleasant and helpful. I loved our room which was a very decent size, had a good bathroom and everything you could want. Tea, coffee and milks were regularly replenished by the hard working cleaning lady. The menu was varied and interesting and the food was hot. I especially enjoyed the risottos. The veg was a trifle al dente for our taste though. Breakfasts were plentiful with the best scrambled eggs I have ever had in a hotel.
The best thing about my stay was...A lovely room which was quiet enough for quality sleep.

FANTASTIC SEAVIEW BUT POOL DANGEROUS
William Lamb, United Kingdom
We had a country view room, no kettle or tea/coffee facilities but we took our own trave one. lovely rooms ,large balcony, good food and staff. However the pool has no handrail to get into or out of pool and this is dangerous and a health and safety issue which needs immediate attention
The best thing about my stay was...lovely views and very relaxing

Nice position for travel around Gozo
Inside Centre, Cleethorpes, UK
Usually we stay in Xlendi and views of the magnificent bay, but this time chose to stay in Mgarr as it is better for travel around Gozo. We stayed in a junior suite at The Grand Hotel and could not have been more pleased with what this hotel offered in comfortable beds and excellent bathroom facilities. All the rooms have harbour views which is pretty rare. The staff are very helpful, friendly and diligent nothing seems to be too much trouble for them. The restaurant has a varied menu and what you would expect from a well run 4* hotel, but if there is nothing on the menu that takes your fancy there are quite a lot of restaurants close by in the harbour, and Ta' Tono is definitely worth trying out - advance booking is essential ! We have already booked to stay again upon our return in late September.
The best thing about my stay was...Comfortable rooms and the ever changing view.

Great base to explore the island
Really enjoyed my stay there. Food was great, room was lovely and spacious and clean, lovely sea view of harbour and Comino. Staff very friendly. The only thing was the traffic in front of the hotel and the traffic coming off the ferry below. Couldn't leave the sliding door open during the night, just too much noise which is a pity otherwise the hotel would be perfect. Free transport to Ramla beach which would be the nearest sandy beach. Also into Victoria Rabat. The gym that other reviewers mention was not great. It looked like it was put in as an after thought by someone. Its in a small pokey room, no views and the room only big enough for 2 or 3 people at a time. But on the other hand there is a games room and a small cinema which shows twice a week.
The best thing about my stay was...Food

Grand Hotel Gozo
Dennis Ray, London
Very good Hotel, ideal for a quiet break.
The best thing about my stay was...Discreet and friendly staff.
23 January 2015
Probably could be 9 or 10 but in January some of the hotel's facilities (out-door pool, roof-top restaurant) were shut until Spring. But otherwise excellent. Hard-working staff with good attitude; excellent food especially the buffets; great rooms with very comfortable beds and fine views over the harbour; two hundred metres from the marina, transport links to the rest of Gozo and the ferry to Malta. Extras include cinema, gym, free transport. Recommended.
The best thing about my stay was...Excellent all-round
