Excellent Hotel centrally located

Lovely hotel very close to all amenities yet the room we were in (260) did not pick up any of the noise from the bustleing city. Room very large and clean. Magnificent city views from the restaurant

The best thing about my stay was...

View from restaurant

This hotel is OKl, BUT, watch out for the excessive not advised up front additional charges!

A hotel suffused with old world charm and character, it has fabulous views of Florence from the roof top restaurant and terrace. The Breakfast is OK, but sometimes chaos descends and it becomes a bit of a rut! A really big issue for us was the failure of the hotel to advise of costs up front, in particular watch out for the concierge charges, we asked them to pre book tickets to museums for us across a 3 day period, which they did, but charged us 8 euros each for every single ticket, even for our 12 year old son who had free entry to the museums! The first Museum we went to advised us that we had paid far to much for our tickets, indeed, after paying for the 'service' we found out that Florence has a Firenza card, which gives the holder no waiting priority access to the cities museums across a 72 hour period; the Hotel failed to advise us that such a card existed, clearly their focus was not on us a guests and providing us service, but was on making an unreasonably large profit for a very, very simple service which took them only a few minutes to carry. When we asked them about canceling the tickets they said the hotel charges would remain - it left a very unpleasant taste! Without therip off we would have given the hotel a rating of 7.

The best thing about my stay was...

Lovely fresh, clean and crisp bed linen every day.

Faded elegance at the Hotel Baglioni

Having stayed at this hotel many years ago it was delightful to know that nothing had changed. Old fashioned room with lovely creaky floor boards. Super view from the dining room and at breakfast I have never experienced such superb prunes. Staff pleasant and helpful. Ideal position for sightseeing and proximity to the station.

The best thing about my stay was...

The prunes and the Italian culture

Review of 'GRAND HOTEL BAGLIONI'

A fantastic stay... so many plus points! A beautiful hotel; very comfortable and clean with staff only too happy to help. Ideally situated; 400m from the TerraVision airport coach stop and not much further from the Duomo and the centre of the city. The view from the breakfast/restaraunt was worth a roll of film in itself. And on the subject of breakfast; leaving before breakfast on the Saturday, the reception desk were only too happy to provide us with a substantial pack-up breakfast at no extra charge... much to the envy of those having to buy at the airport.
Only 2 minus points. The hotel was having some resoration/building work done, but that only served to get us up, out and into the city early! And seconly, the stay just wasn't long enough.
Even without the great rate we got through alpharooms.com (considerably cheaper than hotelclub.com!), the Baglioni comes highly recommended; as does Florence. Go on, you know you want to!

Review of 'GRAND BAGLIONI'

Very close to the rail/bus station (just across the square), and close to the Duomo. A very well appointed hotel, with helpful staff and very nice rooms. Bathroom in particular was well fitted and clean. Fabulous views from both the restaraunt and roof-top restaurant across the city to the surrounding hills. Clean, highly recommended (if a bit pricey) hotel. Breakafast choice and meals very good. The staff were friendly and professional.
Would recommend and would stay again.
